POLITICAL THEORY - Karl Marx

09:28
Karl Marx remains deeply important today not as the man who told us what to replace capitalism with, but as someone who brilliantly pointed out certain of its problems. The School of Life, a pro-Capitalist institution, takes a look. For gifts and more from The School of Life, visit our online shop: https://goo.gl/O1tWri Download our App: https://goo.gl/kj9Vvr FURTHER READING “Most people agree that we need to improve our economic system somehow. It threatens our planet through excessive consumption, distracts us with irrelevant advertising, leaves people hungry and without healthcare, and fuels unnecessary wars. Yet we’re also often keen to dismiss the ideas of its most famous and ambitious critic, Karl Marx. This isn’t very surprising. In practice, his political and economic ideas have been used to design disastrously planned economies and nasty dictatorships. Frankly, the remedies Marx proposed for the ills of the world now sound a bit demented. He thought we should abolish private property. People should not be allowed to own things. At certain moments one can sympathise. But it’s like wanting to ban gossip or forbid watching television. It’s going to war with human behaviour. And Marx believed the world would be put to rights by a dictatorship of the proletariat; which does not mean anything much today. Openly Marxist parties received a total of only 1,685 votes in the 2010 UK general election, out of the nearly 40 million ballots cast…” You can read more on this and many other topics on our blog TheBookofLife.org at this link: https://goo.gl/Rt3zri MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/93tGtZ Watch more films on POLITICAL THEORY in our playlist: http://bit.ly/2dma0Sn Do you speak a different language to English? UML Use Case Diagram Tutorial

13:24
Learn how to make Use Case Diagrams in this tutorial. Both beginners and intermediate UML diagrammers will find all the necessary training and examples on systems, actors, use cases, and include and extend relationships. UML Use Case Diagrams show a system or application; then they show the people, organizations, or other systems that interact with it; and finally, they show a basic flow of what the system or application does. This tutorial explains the four main characteristics of Use Case Diagrams: systems, actors, use cases, and relationships. A system is whatever you’re developing. It could be a website, a software component, a business process, an app, or any number of other things. You represent a system with a rectangle. The next aspect of Use Case Diagrams are actors. An actor is going to be someone or something that uses our system to achieve a goal, and they're represented by a stick figure. Use Cases are elements that really start to describe what the system does. They're depicted with an oval shape and they represent an action that accomplishes some sort of task within the system. The final element in Use Case Diagrams are relationships, which show how actors and use cases interact with each other. There are different types of relationships (like association, include, extend, and generalization) that are represented by varying types of lines and arrows. —— Learn more and sign up: http://www.lucidchart.com Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lucidchart Twitter: https://twitter.com/lucidchart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucidchart LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/lucidsoftware

But what *is* a Neural Network? | Deep learning, chapter 1

19:13
Home page: https://www.3blue1brown.com/ Brought to you by you: http://3b1b.co/nn1-thanks Additional funding provided by Amplify Partners For any early-stage ML entrepreneurs, Amplify would love to hear from you: [email protected] Full playlist: http://3b1b.co/neural-networks Typo correction: At 14:45, the last index on the bias vector is n, when it's supposed to in fact be a k. Thanks for the sharp eyes that caught that! For those who want to learn more, I highly recommend the book by Michael Nielsen introducing neural networks and deep learning: https://goo.gl/Zmczdy There are two neat things about this book. First, it's available for free, so consider joining me in making a donation Nielsen's way if you get something out of it. And second, it's centered around walking through some code and data which you can download yourself, and which covers the same example that I introduce in this video. Yay for active learning! https://github.com/mnielsen/neural-networks-and-deep-learning I also highly recommend Chris Olah's blog: http://colah.github.io/ For more videos, Welch Labs also has some great series on machine learning: https://youtu.be/i8D90DkCLhI https://youtu.be/bxe2T-V8XRs For those of you looking to go *even* deeper, check out the text "Deep Learning" by Goodfellow, Bengio, and Courville. Also, the publication Distill is just utterly beautiful: https://distill.pub/ Lion photo by Kevin Pluck ------------------ Animations largely made using manim, a scrappy open source python library. https://github.com/3b1b/manim If you want to check it out, I feel compelled to warn you that it's not the most well-documented tool, and has many other quirks you might expect in a library someone wrote with only their own use in mind. Music by Vincent Rubinetti. Download the music on Bandcamp: https://vincerubinetti.bandcamp.com/album/the-music-of-3blue1brown Stream the music on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/1dVyjwS8FBqXhRunaG5W5u If you want to contribute translated subtitles or to help review those that have already been made by others and need approval, you can click the gear icon in the video and go to subtitles/cc, then "add subtitles/cc". I really appreciate those who do this, as it helps make the lessons accessible to more people. ------------------ 3blue1brown is a channel about animating math, in all senses of the word animate. Sexual Assault of Men Played for Laughs

28:53
It’s hard to overstate just how common jokes about men being sexually assaulted are in entertainment media. Most popular comedic actors engage in this type of humor. Jokes are typically designed to demean, humiliate, control, or emasculate a male character for being the victim, or potential victim, of sexual violence. This is the 1st of 2 video essays on this topic. Part 1 focuses on humor involving men sexually assaulting or harassing other men. Part 2 will examine media in which women are depicted as the perpetrators. Would you reroute a train to run over one person to prevent it from running over five others? In the classic “Trolley Problem” survey, most people say they would. But I wanted to test what people would actually do in a real-life situation. In the world’s first realistic simulation of this controversial moral dilemma, unsuspecting subjects will be forced to make what they believe is a life-or-death decision. 1984 By George Orwell (1/3) Audiobook

03:10:56
Written in 1948, 1984 was George Orwell's chilling prophecy about the future. And while the year 1984 has come and gone, Orwell's narrative is timelier than ever. 1984 presents a startling and haunting vision of the world, so powerful that it is completely convincing from start to finish. No one can deny the power of this novel, its hold on the imaginations of multiple generations of readers, or the resiliency of its admonitions. How to Create a Stock Management Database in Microsoft Access - Full Tutorial with Free Download

26:08
This tutorial will explain how to use Microsoft Access to create a working stock control database with some basic features. Follow along with our free download of the basic stock database we created in this video: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/free-access-stock-control-database.asp All you need to get started is a copy of Access and a beginner's knowledge of how it works. Get more help and advice on Excel, Access or VBA projects: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/youtube_links.html If you want to find out whether a bespoke database would be right for you, get in contact: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/contact.asp Learn more about our work: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/projects-blog.html Music by Kevin MacLeod http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ We have now uploaded a no music version of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=049IlFNcrl0 --------------------------------------------- If you found this video helpful, please consider giving it a Like, leaving a comment or sharing it. More from the Software-Matters channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk-MVP61VQHMdfETVNQEFww Visit the Software-Matters website: http://www.software-matters.co.uk Software-Matters is based in Gillingham, Dorset, in the south-west of the United Kingdom (UK), near Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire and the cities of Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Bristol, Bath and Salisbury. ---------------------------------------------- MORE INFORMATION: To follow this tutorial you will need a full copy of Microsoft Access. The video was made using Access 2010, however the process is very similar in Access 2007 and Access 2013. We'll be going as far as setting up the database tables, which traditionally would be stored in a so-called 'back end' database file, while forms, queries and report, which are not covered in any details by this tutorial, would be stored in a separate 'front end' database file. The tables from the back end are then 'linked' to the front end, so that it behaved as if all the objects were in one file. In some places we have made the design deliberately simple in order to keep our relationships clean and the number of tables low. This helps those new to Access to get their heads around how to create the database, but for actual use, might cause problems. We recommend that you learn more about database design from other sources before beginning your project if you intend to use it for a real business. Key topics to consider are: database normalisation theory; Inner, Left, Right and Outer Joins; Basic SQL (structured query language) use; Software Development Methodologies; UX (user experience) enhancement techniques; and of course, the very specific needs of your business, project or client. All together, a broad knowledge of these topics will allow you to design your tables with enough foresight to make the setting up of the queries, forms and reports you'll need later as easy as possible. Plus it should make the system easy to use and less likely to be corrupted or crash. Keep in mind that even if your stock database needs don't fit very well with our example parts database, or if you need an entirely different kind of system like an accounts database or CRM database, the lessons in this tutorial can still apply.

Fix / Repair CRC Failed / Corrupted file RAR in WinRAR extraction

07:00
It is the common issue with 'RAR extraction' that the compressed file does not unpack correctly when there is something wrong in the archived file. Most cases, the WinRAR comes with a couple or few couple of error warnings and NOT extracting the files. In this video I used a method which tell the WinRAR to just ignore any errors and extract the files even though they are bad or corrupted. Many cases this method succeeds but not always .........so try this method too before jumping for a re-download of the file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- // Description of Video \\ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I downloaded 4 parts of 'SANS560v0212.rar' from internet. They are:- SANS560v0212.part1.rar SANS560v0212.part2.rar SANS560v0212.part3.rar SANS560v0212.part3.rar In normal process of extraction, due to CRC fail, the file 'SANS560v0212.rar' was not extracted combining the above four parts. I repeated extraction using this trick. Success... Now trying to get the file 'SANS560v0212.iso', which is inside the earlier extracted file SANS560v0212.rar. Unfortunately, it is password protected.... Getting the password... Trying to extract normally with the password...but fails due to CRC error, again. So, repeated the trick in this case too....success. Got the file SANS560v0212.iso.

Discovery Engines: Network Analysis

01:11:11
Besides social networks in our daily lives such as Facebook or Twitter, networks now play an increasingly important role in both academic research and industry. Network analysis has become an indispensable toolkit as more and more relational data are made available. In this video, F. Bill Shi of Knowledge Lab reviews the state of the art of modern network analysis, and provides a hands-on tutorial on three problems that have found successful applications in the real world (one of which has made billions of dollars): how to rank nodes, how to identify meaningful clusters of nodes, and how to predict potential links in a network. To follow along with this workshop, download the iPython notebook and datasets at: https://github.com/KnowledgeLab/CI-Workshop-Networks Python 2.7, igraph (http://igraph.org/python/#startpy), and gephi (http://gephi.github.io/) are also recommended for this tutorial. Discovery Engines: Under The Hood Recent years have brought an explosion of software and tools for working with data, making once arduous tasks such as processing, analysis, machine learning, and visualization easy and accessible. But as the data science toolbox grows larger and larger, it becomes harder to find the proper tool for the job at hand, not to mention how to get the most out of its use. "Discovery Engines: Under the Hood" is a new monthly workshop series organized by the Computation Institute, offering practical, hands-on instruction with new and popular computational tools. Learn from experienced users at CI research centers about programming libraries, web platforms, visualization software, and analytic techniques that can make a difference in your own projects.

Lesson 1: Practical Deep Learning for Coders

01:38:46
NB: All files referenced in the video have moved from platform.ai to files.fast.ai. We suggest visiting http://course.fast.ai/lessons/lesson1.html to watch this video, in order to access the written notes, assignments, help forums, etc. If you have any questions or need help at any point, please ask at http://forums.fast.ai , where thousands of students are helping each other with this course. Welcome to the first full lesson of Practical Deep Learning For Coders! Before you start this lesson, be sure to have completed setup of your deep learning server. See the AWS Lesson to learn how to do this, if you haven’t already. Each lesson page includes links to course notes, forum discussion, and (most importantly) a wiki page. Nearly all the participants in the original in-person course said that they found these resources very important for successfully completing the course. So be sure to make the most of them! And be sure to carefully read the Getting Started page to find out how this course is designed and how to get the most out of it. (Also, apologies that the questions from the audience are hard to hear - we get a special audience mic from lesson 3 onwards which resolves that problem.) SYNOPSIS The 30 minute overview video introduces you to the course and explains how to get the most out of each lesson. We also pass on some tips from previous students. The lesson video starts with a very brief overview of what deep learning is, and why it matters, and then discusses how to access the files for this lesson. However, note that for this MOOC you will probably find it easier to use git instead. The Getting Started page explains how. Then we show how to start, stop, and manage your AWS instance, how to copy data to it, and so forth (if you’re already familiar with AWS you can probably go through this part fairly quickly). The next point discussed is how to the data for this lesson (and indeed all the computer vision projects we’ll tackle) needs to be structured. This is the most important step for you to complete—if your data is not structured correctly you will not be able to train any models. Then we get into our first deep learning model (http://wiki.fast.ai has a fully-hyperlinked timeline for each lesson, so you can easily jump to any section of any video). We learn how to classify dogs from cats. Rather than understanding the mathematical details of how this works, we start by learning the nuts and bolts of how to get the computer to complete the task, using ‘fine-tuning’, perhaps the most important skill for any deep learning practitioner. Once we’ve built a model that can classify dogs from cats, we then take a step back and learn about the original “pre-trained” model that we started with, and examine what it can do without any fine-tuning. Next lesson, we’ll learn about how fine-tuning actually works “behind the scenes”.

What is Artificial Intelligence (or Machine Learning)?

06:15
What is AI? What is machine learning and how does it work? You’ve probably heard the buzz. The age of artificial intelligence has arrived. But that doesn’t mean it's easy to wrap your mind around. For the full story on the rise of artificial intelligence, check out The Robot Revolution: http://hubs.ly/H0630650 Let’s break down the basics of artificial intelligence, bots, and machine learning. Besides, there's nothing that will impact marketing more in the next five to ten years than artificial intelligence. Learn what the coming revolution means for your day-to-day work, your business, and ultimately, your customers. Every day, a large portion of the population is at the mercy of a rising technology, yet few actually understand what it is. Artificial intelligence. You know, HAL 9000 and Marvin the Paranoid Android? Thanks to books and movies, each generation has formed its own fantasy of a world ruled -- or at least served -- by robots. We’ve been conditioned to expect flying cars that steer clear of traffic and robotic maids whipping up our weekday dinner. But if the age of AI is here, why don’t our lives look more like the Jetsons? Well, for starters, that’s a cartoon. And really, if you’ve ever browsed Netflix movie suggestions or told Alexa to order a pizza, you’re probably interacting with artificial intelligence more than you realize. And that’s kind of the point. AI is designed so you don’t realize there’s a computer calling the shots. But that also makes understanding what AI is -- and what it’s not -- a little complicated. In basic terms, AI is a broad area of computer science that makes machines seem like they have human intelligence. So it’s not only programming a computer to drive a car by obeying traffic signals, but it’s when that program also learns to exhibit signs of human-like road rage. As intimidating as it may seem, this technology isn’t new. Actually, for the past half-a-century, it’s been an idea ahead of its time. The term “artificial intelligence” was first coined back in 1956 by Dartmouth professor John McCarthy. He called together a group of computer scientists and mathematicians to see if machines could learn like a young child does, using trial and error to develop formal reasoning. The project proposal says they’ll figure out how to make machines “use language, form abstractions and concepts, solve kinds of problems now reserved for humans, and improve themselves.” That was more than 60 years ago. Since then, AI has remained for the most part in university classrooms and super secret labs … But that’s changing. Like all exponential curves, it’s hard to tell when a line that’s slowly ticking upwards is going to skyrocket. But during the past few years, a couple of factors have led to AI becoming the next “big” thing: First, huge amounts of data are being created every minute. In fact, 90% of the world’s data has been generated in the past two years. And now thanks to advances in processing speeds, computers can actually make sense of all this information more quickly. Because of this, tech giants and venture capitalists have bought into AI and are infusing the market with cash and new applications. Very soon, AI will become a little less artificial, and a lot more intelligent. Now the question is: Should you brace yourself for yet another Terminator movie, live on your city streets? Not exactly. In fact, stop thinking of robots. When it comes to AI, a robot is nothing more than the shell concealing what’s actually used to power the technology. That means AI can manifest itself in many different ways. Let’s break down the options… First, you have your bots. They’re text-based and incredibly powerful, but they have limitations. Ask a weather bot for the forecast, and it will tell you it’s partly cloudy with a high of 57. But ask that same bot what time it is in Tokyo, and it’ll get a little confused. That’s because the bot’s creator only programmed it to give you the weather by pulling from a specific data source. Natural language processing makes these bots a bit more sophisticated. When you ask Siri or Cortana where the closest gas station is, it’s really just translating your voice into text, feeding it to a search engine, and reading the answer back in human syntax. So in other words, you don’t have to speak in code. Machine intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, the rise of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence tutorial, future of work 2020, what is artificial intelligence and why is it important, machine learning tutorial

Link to my Twitter: https://twitter.com/VinylicPuma Hey guys, back with another video and today, I figured I would go over how to install gun mods that are apart of ShadowEvil's Community Patch Method for the PC. I noticed a couple of people in some of my previous videos requested that I make a video like this, so i figured I would go ahead and do so. Like all Community Patch Mods, they are only available for PC. In general, the process is very simple and once you get a hang of copying and pasting code from the community Github page, you'll be making your own custom patches in no time.
