James explains: http://bit.ly/1Pzy1k5 ____________ European economies were so closely connected that some people expected they have to avoid another world war or destroy their finances, but in fact World War I had taught them how to prepare for just such a scenario. Germany, France, and Great Britain all invested in their military before war broke out. When evaluating these economies to see how war would affect them, we look at four main factors: GDP, population, territorial extent, and per capita income. Broadly, this helps us determine how resilient, expansive, self-sufficient, and developed a nation is. All of those factors determine how a nation must conduct its war. For example, the vast territorial holdings of the British Empire meant that they had vast resources to draw upon but needed a long time to mobilize them, which helped Germany determine that they needed to strike fast and win big if they hoped to win the war before Britain's full resources came into play. Japan also estimated that they could win a war in the Pacific if they managed to win before the US had been involved for more than 6 months. These calculations drove the early strategies of the Axis powers, but the participation of the US would later prove to be a crucial factor. ____________ BONUS! In this section we’re going to start to look at Resources. Resources include the people involved in a project, they include equipment and materials used, and various other types of resource, notably cost associated with a project. When you look at a Gantt Chart such as this one you’re primarily looking at tasks. The table on the left gives information about the tasks and the chart on the right gives a pictorial, a graphical representation of the scheduling of the tasks, their durations, dependencies, and so on. Now tasks and resources are basically the two building blocks of a project in Microsoft Project 2016. And we link the two together using what are called Assignments or Resource Assignments. In this section we’re going to look at Resources and in the next section we’re going to look at Resource Assignments. One thing that you may have noticed when we were using the View Tab before is that the first two groups on the left are Task Views and Resource Views. And largely speaking when we’re looking at a project we tend to be looking at tasks or at resources. But there are many views that enable us to look at both. And in particular to look at the relationship between them. Usually so far when we’ve been looking at tasks we’ve used Gantt Chart View. And for most people that is the view that they use most of the time. Of the Resource Views a very popular view is Resource Sheet View. And that’s the one that we’re going to look at first. So if I click on Resource Sheet, this spreadsheet gives us information about all of the resources in our project. And at the moment as you can see we have no resources in our project. Now we’re going to start to add some resources in just a moment. But before we do just look down at the right hand end of the Status Bar. Two of the main icons there are on the left here the button to take us to Gantt Chart View and three to the right, the one that looks just like a spreadsheet, that one takes us back to Resource Sheet View. So you’ll probably get used to switching between those two. The two views between them are also very commonly used. Task Usage which basically lists tasks and shows which resources are used in a task. And at the moment we have no resources so there’s nothing being used. And the next one is Team Planner View which can enable us to look at how the work on a project is distributed between a team. Now at the moment we have no team because we have no resources to put into a team. So let’s go back to Resource Sheet View. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

Water Resources

005 - Water Resources In this video Paul Andersen explains how water is unequally distributed around the globe through the hydrologic cycles. Seawater is everywhere but is not useful without costly desalination. Freshwater is divided between surface water and groundwater but must me stored and moved for domestic, industrial, and agricultural uses. Pakistan: Richest Country in Natural Resources. See How Rich is Pakistan in Natural Resources

14:08
Pakistan: Richest Country in Natural Resources. See How Rich is Pakistan in Natural Resources Follow us on http://offensivemilitary.blogspot.com/ www.www.facebook.com/pakistanaffairs2017 www.twitter.com/pakistanaffairz Pakistan is Rich in Natural Resources There is no denying the fact that Pakistan is one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources and its immense geo-strategic potential. The country's abundant wealth of resources including that of energy, agriculture, minerals, population, and geography needs no explanation, but unlike the developed countries, these have not been properly utilised due to poor management. This dismal situation is caused due to several flaws which have led to poor governance of country since its inception except some brief periods of economic prosperity. Prevalent political rivalry and instability, worsening law and order situation and rampant corruption have led to resource development impasse. A broader overview of geographic position of Pakistan reveals that it is located in South Asia and has 650 miles of coastline on the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman. The west is bordered by Afghanistan and Iran. India is to the east and China in the far northeast. The country is strategically located between South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Our country is bestowed with some of the best soil resources, for instance, natural gas, oil, hydro power potential, coal, iron, copper, salt, and limestone and so on. Our farmers produce wheat, cotton, rice, sugarcane, eggs, fruit and vegetables. We have large cattle farms which produce meat and milk in abundance. Primary industry includes textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, fertilizer, and paper products. Major exports comprise textile products, rice, leather goods, sports goods, carpets, rugs, and chemicals. Pakistan imports petroleum, machinery, plastic, edible oil, iron, steel, tea, and paper. Coal reserves are estimated at 175 billion tons. This would equate to 618 billion barrels of crude oil. When compared to oil reserves this is more than twice the amount of the top four countries. Natural gas production is at a high level in Pakistan. Estimated reserves are 885.3 billion cubic meters (as of January 2009). Gas fields are expected to last for another 20 years. The Sui gas field is the largest, accounting for 26% of Pakistan's gas production. Daily production is 19 million cubic meters a day. Under the barren mountains of Balochistan and hot sands of Sindh, there is unlimited amount of oil and gas reserves not touched yet. And still further, we have fertile lands of Punjab, ready to feed a population twice as big as we are now, the best irrigation system (waiting for more water reservoirs to enrich it), and the best quality cotton and rice. Balochistan is a mountainous desert area, consisting of 3.5 lakh sq. kms. It borders Iran, Afghanistan and its Southern Boundary is the Arabian Sea with strategically important port of Gwadar on the Makran Coast, commanding approach to the Strait of Hormuz. Its total population is 7.5 million. Balochistan occupies 43.6 percent of Pakistan's total area and is least populated. Gwadar is an important district of Balochistan, having 600 Kilometres long border. Until 1958, it had been a part of the State of Oman. On December 1958, Pakistan bought it with an amount of 550 million Rupees. It was suggested as a suitable site for port in 1964 and thus in 2002, the construction of the port was initiated with the help of China. The Gwadar Port, being the third largest port of the world, is situated at the doorway of the Persian Gulf (180 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz through which 40% of World's Oil passes) and at the largest trade route of the world. It is due to this fact that makes it geo-strategically more important to the world powers. Rickodek, the part of Chagi (Tehsil of Balochistan), means “Hillock of Gold. Pakistan and International media has highlighted a new discussion on 'Rickodek'. It is the world's 4th largest deposit of gold and copper. It has been discovered that the mountains of Balochistan are filled up with much costly reservoirs of mineral. Nevertheless, it has also been proved that the gold and copper reserves of about $260 billion are buried under the Rickodek. But it is very unfortunate that Pakistan is dependent upon foreign companies for exploring, mining, surveying and refining of our natural wealth. Balochistan has been divided among Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. It has been overlooked since the times of the British Rulers. It is that part of Pakistan that consists of different linguistic and ethnic groups Pakistani leadership must focus on exploration of natural resources and their scientific management. Properly managed natural resources can play a vital role in national growth. Extensive geological survey is required to discover the resource potential.

Rolek Resources' near-term manganese project viable for multiple markets

04:05
Rolek Resources Ltd (ASX:RLK) managing director Ian Stuart speaks to Proactive Investors about the company's newly acquired advanced Barramine Manganese Project and its near-term development strategy. "The Barramine Manganese Project is unique in that it's had a lot of work done on it previously, some $7 million worth of drilling [and] over 300 holes, and a very solid comprehensive body of geological work," Stuart says. He continues, "so it's a near-term production opportunity for us. "Manganese is a vital component in steelmaking and the price is always underpinned by steel - the market grows about 2% year-on-year. Increasingly it's being used more and more as a component in cathode material in the battery space."

HUGE NEW FEATURE: API Resources (14/14) - Laravel 5.5 New Features

26:50
The largest feature to come to Laravel 5.5 is the API resources. This feature allows you to manage your JSON payloads for your API much easier. For those of you maintaining APIs in Laravel, you will begin to jump for joy with how easy this has become. Think of API resources like templates for your JSON payloads. In the past, previous versions of Laravel would run a simple json_encode on your model objects to return a JSON request. This meant you were outputing a direct mapping of your database (minus any hidden fields you defined). This is bare bones functionality and generally is ok for internal APIs but much more control is required for Public APIs. Thanks to API resources we now have an easy way to control the layout of our JSON payloads by creating a "resource" and defining the structure in the resource. I like to think of resources as "JSON templates". With these templates we can define the information we want in the resource and even create or combine information from multiple models or nested relationships. The video explains all of this in more detail than I can explain here, so be sure to check it out. ==== LINKS ==== Documentation on API Resources https://laravel.com/docs/5.5/eloquent-resources ==== MORE FROM THIS SERIES . ==== Full Playlist for the “Laravel 5.5 New Features“ Series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwAKR305CRO8GY3HVpXShlrXab8Cd7VT_ ==== FOLLOW ME ==== Subscribe for New Releases! Are We Running Out of Resources?

04:08
Prof. Steve Horwitz addresses the common belief that the world is running out of natural resources. Instead, there are economic reasons why we will never run out of many resources. In a free market system, prices signal scarcity. So as a resource becomes more scarce, it becomes more expensive, which incentivizes people to use less of it and develop new alternatives, or to find new reserves of that resource that were previously unknown or unprofitable. We have seen throughout history that the human mind's ability to innovate, coupled with a free market economic system, is an unlimited resource that can overcome the limitations we perceive with natural resources. Types Of Natural Resources

01:52
Follow us at: https://plus.google.com/+tutorvista/ Check us out at http://www.tutorvista.com/content/biology/biology-iv/natural-resources/natural-resources-types.php Types of Natural Resources Natural resources are naturally occurring resources in the environment that have not been disturbed by mankind. By resource is meant any physical entity, which has limited availability. These resources occur in their natural form. Few examples of natural resources are: •Air, wind and atmosphere •Plants (Flora) •Animals (Fauna) •Agronomy (the science of using plants for food, fuel, feed and fiber) •Wildlife •Forestry and Agroforestry •Coal and fossil fuels •Range and pasture •Soils •Water, oceans, lakes and rivers Something that people generally arent aware of, is that everything we use in everyday life are derived from natural resources, for example, milk which comes from cows - animals are a natural resource. We use water, food and vegetables that comes from plants, salt which is a mineral are some of the other natural resources. Wood that we get from tree is a natural resource. It can be used to build a house, make paper, burn in fireplaces and in stoves for cooking, etc. Man utilizes these resources in various ways. These resources are processed further so as to be made suitable for our needs. The table below is an example that shows in what way the resources have been utilized.
