HELP! What kind of fossils are these? Sharks teeth, bones and petrified wood.

08:27
HELP! What kind of fossils are these? Sharks teeth, bones and petrified wood. Is this a megalodon tooth? The following is the most detailed assessment thus far, provided by Trevor Rempert: #1 Not a fossil tooth. I'm leaning toward sharp rock. #2 Fossilized great white shark tooth (_Carcharodon carcharias_). Upper lateral position. It doesn't have the phosphate stained black color associated with teeth from Venice beach or the Peace River. The beige coloration looks like it came from northern or central Florida (but there are many other localities that produce that color). The tooth that your wife found is a lower anterior tooth of either a great white or megalodon. I would need a better look at it to give an ID. #3 Fossil horse tooth (_Equus sp._) #4 Phosphate nodule #5 Bone fragments. The pits are where blood vessels/marrow was found. Impossible to ID but likely came from dugong, manatee, whale, or dolphin. #6 Carcharocles Angustidens tooth. NOT A MEGALODON. Angustidens was the evolutionary predecessor to megalodon. You can tell because of the presence of the cusp (secondary blade) of the edge of the root of the tooth. The cusps are artifacts of when the shark's diet was primarily fish. When the shark's diet changed to whales and dolphins, the cusps were gradually lost to give the tooth greater strength. #7 Cosmopolotodus Xiphodon tooth (aka Isurus hastalis ) This is the evolutionary predecessor to the great white. Commonly called the Giant Mako. These teeth lack the serrations that modern great whites have. Your tooth is a lower anterior tooth. #8 Hemipristis Serra tooth. Snaggletooth shark. The snaggles helped them rip flesh off dugongs. Not a tiger shark tooth. Tigers have a more crescent shape and complex serrations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exoman has been hunting for fossils along the shores of North Carolina, having fun collecting interesting shells like the Lettered Olive, Lightning Whelk and others but his real interest is in finding fossilised teeth. Is this a petrified horse tooth? Is this a fossilized great white shark's tooth? Is this petrified wood or bone? Huge Dragline in Action in Manatee County, Florida

02:26
Phosphate rock is usually found 15-50 feet beneath the ground in a mixture of phosphate pebbles, sand and clay known as phosphate "matrix." The sandy layer above the matrix, called the overburden, is removed using electrically operated draglines. Equipped with large buckets, these draglines remove the overburden, placing it in the previously mined voids, and excavate the matrix, depositing it into a shallow containment area or slurry pit. There, high-pressure water guns turn the material into a watery mixture called slurry, which is sent through pipelines to a processing facility, referred to as a beneficiation plant, where phosphate rock is physically separated from the sand and clay in the matrix. At the plant, the slurry is moved through a series of washing stations and vibrating screens that physically separate clay, sand and pebble-sized particles. The separated phosphate pebbles are moved through dewatering tanks and onto an inventory pile via conveyor belt. The clay particles are then pumped through pipelines into storage ponds (clay settling areas) where these particles sink to the bottom. These ponds function as reservoirs and help Mosaic recycle or reuse approximately 90 percent of the water at its phosphate facilities, while also supporting a variety of wildlife.

Tiwanaku / Pumapunku Megaliths are Artificial Geopolymers

** Subtitles available (English, French and Castillan) ** ** Video en Castillan aquí: https://youtu.be/ULpenmcHORA ** Download the Scientific Paper at Elsevier: https://authors.elsevier.com/a/1YbFt~2-EzCd0 Free download until April 10, 2019. At the 10th Geopolymer Camp in 2018, Prof. Joseph Davidovits presented during his annual keynote his last studies on the Tiwanaku / Pumapunku Megaliths. In November 2017, an international team (a geologist from Universidad San Pablo at Arequipa, Peru and a member of the Geopolymer Institute) went on the site to carry on a survey on these stones. After different analysis on thin sections and under the electronic microscope, Joseph Davidovits claims that he has found "organic matter in volcanic rock", which is, by nature, impossible. SIMARINE PICO Monitor Review and Install in RV

22:38
Here's a detailed review and install of the SIMARINE PICO Smart Monitor system in my RV. This PICO system is very impressive and a perfect upgrade for an RV, boat, van or off-grid homesteads. It can also monitor tank levels, power from solar panels and other DC circuits. All from one awesome display. Get 10% DISCOUNT - SIMARINE PICO MONITOR Got to https://www.SIMARINE.net and use coupon code "RVWITHTITO" at checkout Special Thanks to Simarine for providing the PICO Smart Monitoring system for review and testing. MORE ABOUT THIS EPISODE I recently removed my TriMetric battery monitor (from Bogart Engineering) that I've been using for years and installed a the new SIMARINE PICO Smart Monitoring system. Compared to the popular TriMetric and Victron BMV 712 battery monitoring systems, the PICO gets my vote as the best battery monitoring system available in 2018. I have installed it in my RV and am now monitoring several systems from the PICO display unit. The PICO is not just a battery monitor. The modular and fully programmable PICO system includes several monitoring modules that can be fully programmed and customized to monitor several systems from one display. There are modules for: - Deep Cycle Battery monitoring - Storage, fuel and waste water tank level monitoring - DC voltage monitoring - DC current monitoring of multiple DC sources or circuits...even solar panels or wind turbines It even includes a very nice barometer display. I received SIMARINE PICO Blue system and installed the main shunt module, tank module, and quad shunt module in the RV. I've been using it and tweaking the settings in order to get my tank levels dialed in. I really like it. As I'm writing this we are out dry camping and I'm testing the unit. PICO system PROS: - Very attractive graphical display - Very modern look that will complement your space - Well designed - Great communication system between modules - Minimal wire and cable connections required - Fully programmable and customizable - Future Proof - Automatic firmware updates via mobile - Expandable - Works with all types of sensors - Easy to install - Easy to add modules - Free Mobile App for remote monitoring and setup PICO System CONS: - App uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth - While on WiFi to PICO, the mobile device can't use other mobile data services - WiFi range is not that good - Would like an option to program main screen (add one or two monitors) - No diagrams for RV / Caravan - I created a diagram for my RV installation here: http://rvwithtito.com/sites/default/files/images/pico-wiring-diagram.png Overall I really love the PICO system and have been enjoying using it. My wife also likes it, since the information and graphical gauges make a lot sense to her. Basic current, voltage and percentage numerical data on the other battery monitor displays never really meant much to her. Plus the devices are not pleasing to look at. Lizzy Hart Sink in Withlacoochee State Forest

04:38
This area known as Lizzy Hart Sink in Withlacoochee State Forest located in Citrus County, it is one of the oldest limestone features in Florida. Early Native Americans used the area for hunting and making tools. Another interesting story is about the naming of the area. One of the stories is that In the 1800’s when the town of Mannfield existed a girl named Lizzy Hart from that town drowned in the sinkhole. Another story was that she committed suicide in the sinkhole because she was not allowed to pursue her true love in the nearby ghost town of Stage Pond. http://www.hikingtheappalachians.com/trail-reports/citrus-loop-d-to-dames-cave https://itchyfish.com/lizzie-hart-sinkhole-hiking-the-florida-trail/ http://www.freshfromflorida.com/Divisions-Offices/Florida-Forest-Service/Our-Forests/State-Forests/Withlacoochee-State-Forest/Recreation-at-Withlacoochee-State-Forest https://www.floridatrail.org/citrus-loop-trails/

EarthParts #35 - Identifying Common Fossil Invertebrates

15:31
This episode of EarthParts shows how to identify fossils of ancient marine, invertebrate life forms from their shells of CaCO3 found in sedimentary rock from the Cambrian Period forward. Fossils of ancient animals with mineral hard parts, like calcium carbonate, silica and calcium phosphate, preserve well in the geologic record. Shells don't rot, unlike flesh, so they tend to last in sedimentary rock over geologic time. Most life forms don't end up as fossils, they mostly rot after death or get ripped apart and eaten by predators, scavengers and carrion-eaters. If a cadaver is buried by sediment faster than it can rot or be destroyed, it has a chance of becoming entombed in sediment and preserved as a fossil for geologic time. Fossils became widespread in the rock record only after animals evolved mineralized hard parts, roughly around the beginning of the Cambrian Period (541 to 485 million years ago). Since then fossils have been commonplace in sedimentary rock, especially limestone and shale. Sandstone can carry fossils but is poor at preserving them most of the time because the grain size is usually too coarse. Limestone is essentially made of planktonic and animal hard parts of calcium carbonate, so limestone tends to preserve fossils especially well. In this episode we'll look at groups of fossil animals that are representative of their time as dominant members of their contemporary ecology, including: Trilobites, brachiopods, crinoid echinoderms, mollusks including bivalve, gastropod and cephalopod mollusks such as fossil ammonites and belemnites, stromatolite algal nodules, and reef-building organisms such as sponges like the archaeocyathids and stromatoporoids, and cnidarian polyp organisms such as rugose corals and tabulate corals. After the end-Permian extinction 252 million years ago all rugose corals, all tabulate corals, all archaeocyathids and stromatoporoids and all trilobites went extinct, in the worst mass extinction in Earth's history. After the Great Dying, as it's called now, only a few crinoid and brachiopod species survived, and today they survive in our modern oceans but with little biodiversity. In contrast, after the Great Dying the bivalve, gastropod and cephalopod mollusks expanded in diversity and ecological dominance. With most reef-builders gone, after the extinction new coral-builders evolved, such as scleractinian corals that dominate reefs today.

Dragline on Hobet Mine since 1983 -- First electric earth mover in WV

The Hobet Mountain Top Removal (MTR) coal mine has been operating for over three decades; A (Bucyrus Erie) BE 1570 dragline (with an 80 cubic yard bucket) has been there since 1983. (This video is from June 2008; logusts are "singing") More: History of Dragline Operations in West Virginia http://www.epa.gov/region3/mtntop/pdf/appendices/h/mrt-symposium/fugpres1.pdf Largest-ever dragline: The Big Muskie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Om5cseJ8_o (The first electric dragline was built by Bucryus in 1912.) Among other things, Haden said Hobet Mining and the Corps had illegally "segmented" the Spruce Mine into smaller parts, so regulators wouldn't take a closer look, as they would if it were one large mine proposal. "It seems apparent that the operations were split intentionally to allow the commencement of mining operations under a less critical agency review and to delay more detailed scrutiny until after significant work has begun," Haden said. But on June 24, 1999, the Corps told Hobet Mining it would not approve the project under a nationwide permit. The company would have to seek an individual permit, which requires extensive environmental studies that could take two years. In a letter to Hobet engineer James Johnston, the Corps said it had "reluctantly reached the conclusion, for a variety of reasons, that there is virtually no chance" that Haden would allow the mine under a nationwide permit. Originally, Hobet proposed to fill 7.8 miles of streams with 150 million cubic yards of rock and earth. Its final permit proposed to fill 4.1 miles of streams, a reduction of 47 percent. In court papers, environmental groups argue that the EPA letter "is not a finding of minimal impacts. It is a finding that environmental impacts have been balanced with economic costs, and only those impacts that are not costly to eliminate have been minimized. "[The Clean Water Act] does not allow this type of cost-benefit analysis," the environmental groups said. "It provides that environmental effects must be minimal, not minimized considering costs, or minimized considering jobs." === http://64.17.135.19/APF_Stories/Abramson/Abramson02/Abramson.html (Excerpt) In 1995, the Highland Conservancy's Cindy Rank was already warning that hundreds of miles of streams had been buried, with the full knowledge of state environmental regulators. Two years later, U.S. News & World Report published an exposé predicting that half the mountain peaks across a swath of southern West Virginia would be gone in 20 years. Photographs published with the article created a sensation. The pictures led James Weekley, a disabled miner whose home sat in a hollow below the proposed Spruce Mine, to seek help from Joe Lovett. Arch Coal Company had by then mined on a ridge above Blair for six years, reducing peaks by hundreds of feet. The dust, blasting, and night-and-day noise from the Dal-Tex mine had driven away most of the community's residents and businesses, some after accepting settlements and promising to leave the area. With the seams exhausted in the Dal-Tex Mine, Arch planned to move across the hollow and open Spruce Mine on the adjacent ridge where it expected to remove $2 billion worth of coal over a period of about 15 years. Haden's ruling blocked approval of the new mine and set off an uproar that reached the floor of the U.S. Senate and possibly tipped the 2000 West Virginia election, and the presidency, to George W. Bush. Democratic Sen. Robert C. Byrd tried to overturn the decision on the floor of the Senate. Like Underwood, Byrd warned darkly of an end to the West Virginia coal industry. Others likened Haden to Hitler, denouncing him from the steps of the state capital and harassing him with convoys of coal trucks circling the federal courthouse with air horns blaring. === This clip from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LojPk2VQe5g

** This video was filmed, edited, and uploaded all on an iPhone 5s. Sorry for the shaky intro!** Link to Wrapup Vid: https://youtu.be/HTwpPp59RNE Hello and greetings to each and everyone of you! This year has really been something amazing! We decided to start our own YouTube channel and it has done better than we could've ever imagined! We are coming up to a big milestone for us, 500 subscribers! And we realize that that is still small, but it's also nothing to be ashamed of, and we are proud to have each and everyone of you as part of that fantastic number. This is likely to be our last fossil hunting trip of 2016, and while in someways it was not my best in terms of finds, in many ways this hunting trip is the most meaningful of the entire year. Because, while I did not have my family along to enjoy it with, I had the knowledge that you guys were joining me, and that gave me motivation to push through and make just an OK trip to become a really great trip! So for that I send you a very warm thank you. Please continue to join Healthy Family Variety Channel over this coming year, give us your questions and comments so that we can help and make the channel even better! Hope you had a really wonderful 2016, and that you have an even better 2017! You guys are awesome! Take care and God bless!
Abandonedmines.org | Old Forge Borehole

00:18
This is a borehole drilled in the 1960's to dewater the mines in the Scranton PA area. The reason it was necessary is that after the mines were abandoned, the water table rose so high the basements and foundations were underwater. This hole was thus drilled 300 feet down to penetrate the mines. The pressure of the water in the mines is forcing it up this 6 foot diameter borehole and exiting into the Susquehanna river. The hole is discharging 40 million gallons an hour. This is a video looking down into the top of the borehole as the water comes up.

In this particular section I could see lots of limestone pieces all throughout. These materials were used by natives to make tools and weapons. It is possible that this site may have been part of an old quarry that they used. AS ALWAYS ALL ARTIFACTS WERE LEFT UNDISTURBED. Thank you for watching and please subscribe to see more of my videos.

FLUORIDATION: CEASE AND DESIST (3/7) (2014 Documentary)

FLUORIDATION: CEASE AND DESIST A film by Mark Howitt 2014 Documentary (Part 3 of 7) For those who cannot watch Part 2 because it has been blocked worldwide on Youtube, the entire film is available on DVD format to view with friends and family at: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/151268571201?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 New evidence in regards to water fluoridation has shown that the science used to prove its effectiveness in preventing dental decay and it's safety in regards to consumption were severely flawed. This documentary takes an in depth look at the history of water fluoridation and how entire populations have been mass medicated and slow-poisoned without their consent, a clear human rights violation. It is a shocking reality that many cities still fluoridate their public drinking water supply with hydrofluorosilicic acid even though modern science proves it is extremely harmful to the tissues of the body. This film shows the history of fluoridation which involved key players in eugenics, the military and of course the medical, dental and health organizations that have promoted this toxic substance and profited from the illnesses and suffering that has resulted. Revealed is the flawed science promoted by these industries as well as the work of many important and historic individuals who have dedicated their lives to exposing the truth about this harmful process. Featuring an in depth interview with Peter Van Caulart, director of the Environmental Training Institute and Vice President of the organization COF-COF (Canadians Opposed To Fluoridation), as well as appearances by some of the many innovators in the fight to cease fluoridation. The information presented in this film is meant to not only educate the individual but also give them the tools and knowledge necessary to end this unnecessary, unethical, and unproven practice in their own community. How to Make Dry Ice - With a Fire Extinguisher!

(-78C/-109F) and can cause instant frost-bite to exposed skin. This project should not be attempted without adult supervision and adequate training. Misuse, or careless use, of tools or projects may result in serious injury. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Music By: Music by Jason Shaw (RP-5CentsBack) http://www.audionautix.com Project Inspired By: Theo Gray (Mad Science) http://youtu.be/gyLwYin6pRo Project History & More Info: It cost just under $30 to refill the tank to get about 2 lbs of dry-ice. Contrasting that with the cost of dry-ice at the local grocery store ($1.00/lb) doesn't make financial sense, but this method is much more fun! If pressurized liquid CO2 is quickly depressurized, the CO2 expands to a gas, and cools its surroundings. This is called adiabatic cooling. Because the CO2 sublimates directly into a gas, it's very clean and doesn't leave behind any residue. Some fire extinguishers utilize CO2 as the medium for suppressing fires. These types are mainly found in restaurant kitchens, mechanical rooms, and in areas that hold sensitive equipment like computers. CO2 fire extinguishers are usually charged with food grade CO2 and are referred to in terms of pounds. For example, a 5lb CO2 extinguisher is charged with a 5 lb weight of liquid CO2. CO2 fire extinguishers are marked with stickers, or holes punched in the servicing labels. They also have unusually large discharge horns, and no pressure gauges.

Thomas Woltz, “Threatened Landscapes: Designed Countermeasures of N. B. W. Landscape Architects”

01:33:39
Public parks are a source of civic identity for the communities they serve – inclusivity and authenticity are crucial. Similarly, memorials are bastions of democratic exchange and act as repositories of our cultural past and evolution. Thomas Woltz will present projects from the portfolio of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW) that demonstrate the power of the firm’s research-based design to reframe our relationship with civic, ecological, and cultural systems within the public realm. Lastly, Thomas will present NBW projects that prioritize the ecological health and resilience in agriculturally productive landscapes and reveal surprising connections between these typologies. Over the past two decades of practice, landscape architect Thomas Woltz has forged a body of work that integrates the beauty and function of built forms with an understanding of complex biological systems and restoration ecology. As principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW), a 45-person firm based in Charlottesville, Virginia and New York City, Woltz has infused narratives of the land into the places where people live, work and play, deepening the public’s enjoyment of the natural world and inspiring environmental stewardship. NBW projects create models of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture within areas of damaged ecological infrastructure and working farmland, yielding hundreds of acres of reconstructed wetlands, reforested land, and flourishing wildlife habitat. Presently, Thomas and NBW are entrusted with the design of major public parks across the United States, Canada and New Zealand, they include Memorial Park in Houston, Hudson Yards in New York City, NoMA Green in Washington DC, Cornwall Park in Auckland, the Aga Khan Garden in Alberta, Canada, and three parks in Nashville, including Centennial Park. In 2013 was named Design Innovator of the Year by the Wall Street Journal magazine and in 2017 Fast Company named Woltz one of the most creative people in business.

THE HIGH FREQUENCY SCREEN IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR MOLYBDENUM TUNGSTEN

More Details: http://www.pakistancrushers.com/contact.php in nonferrous metal mines, oxidation of scheelite and molybdenum ore occupy a certain proportion of traditional use of spiral classifier for classification, but the classification efficiency of the device is low, the main ore mineral recovery of calcium molybdate ores and calcium calcium tungsten ore and tungsten low hardness, high density, brittle, resulting in mineral cycle in the classifier and two section mill, after grinding and mud loss and flotation tailings. Experts have decided to use the high frequency screen as classification equipment for molybdenum tungsten ore through many years of technical research and achievements in laboratory test and research. High frequency high frequency vibrating fine screen is short, it is a kind of plant classification equipment. The width of the screen grate is different, and the material is graded according to the size of the particle. In grinding circuit, control classification of grinding products, the coarse intergrowths screened that the objects on the screen and return to the mill grinding. Fine particles, that is, under the sieve, can be discharged in time, to avoid grinding, resulting in crushing, screening fine particles for selection, can improve the grade of concentrates. The high frequency screen, oxidized ore concentrate grade and recovery of molybdenum were increased greatly, ore slime content of -30um dropped by nearly half, to create a good environment for the flotation of molybdenum and tungsten oxide ore, in improving ore dressing plant and processing ability has greatly improved the separation index. The unique mineral properties of the oxidized molybdenum ore and scheelite mineral determine the selection of grading equipment in the process design of mineral processing. The high frequency screen as the classification equipment, high classification efficiency, improve the concentrator processing volume at the same time reduce the slime quantity seriously interfere with the generation of oxide ore flotation, the flotation of oxidized ore environment greatly improved, more important is to reduce the oxidation of molybdenum and tungsten minerals by crushing and mud loss in the tailings, improve the recovery of useful the rate of mineral to a great extent, so as to improve the economic benefits of the mine. Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | Sparta (#804)

26:47
[Original Airdate: January 24, 2019] It’s true that Sparta Wisconsin is the bicycling capital of America, but we found lots of things happening here: soldiers marching, shovelmen building, luthiers crafting, quilters quilting, and, of course, bikers biking. Yes, Sparta likes active people and companies: Fast Eddie and FAST Corp fit right in, and so does John Gurda because he is the real life version of Ben Bikin. After all, John G. has literally been bikin’ all over Wisconsin! John McGivern is more like Ben’s friend, Willbee Ridin… As in, he will be ridin’ in his car back to Sparta because he’s coming for a longer visit! +2,954
