Visit Goldfield Ghost Town today! Walk down Main Street, explore the many shops and historic buildings. Tour the historic Mammoth Gold Mine and visit the Goldfield Museum. Pan for gold then take a ride on Arizona’s only narrow gauge train. You’ll also get to witness an old west gun fight performed by the famous Goldfield Gunfighters! Spend a fun filled day, rich in wild west history! Back in the 1890′s Goldfield boasted 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a school house. Just when it looked like the town would outgrow Mesa, the vein faulted, the grade of ore dropped and the town died a slow painful death. After several unsuccessful attempts to reopen the mines, the town did come to life again from 1910 on and off until 1926. After more than 115 years, travelers from all over the world still visit this gold mining town located on the historic Apache Trail and enjoy the excitement and grandeur of Arizona’s wild west!

April 6, 2012. I spent an afternoon in Oatman Arizona on historic route 66 (Oatman Hwy) about 28 miles from Kingman AZ. This town was founded a gold mining community in the very early 1900s. Just recently in 2008, the Gold Road Mine in the area was reopened for business, as gold prices are now quite high, making it profitable once again. It seems the town itself is thriving on tourism alone, most of whole Oatman Arizona downtown area is souvenir shops, antique shoppes, restaurants, etc. If you're through this way, off I-40 at Kingman AZ, you might want to take this trip into Oatman AZ. There's a gunfight (actors) in the street a couple times a day, like 12 noon and 2:15pm, something like that. There's a lot of wild donkeys (borros) that roam about town begging for food. There's one place I went into there in Oatman Arizona that I felt for sure is haunted (among other obvious haunted historic places nearby), a very strong presence there. I didn't include it among the video clips here.

Old town Scottsdale. Phoenix, Arizona, United States (1999). Scottsdale (O'odham: Vaṣai S-vaṣonĭ; Yaqui: Eskatel) is a city in the eastern part of Maricopa County, Arizona, adjacent to the Greater Phoenix Area. Named Scottsdale in 1894 after founder Winfield Scott and incorporated in 1951 with a population of 2000, the 2014 population of the city is estimated to be 230,512, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The New York Times described downtown Scottsdale as "a desert version of Miami's South Beach" and as having "plenty of late night partying and a buzzing hotel scene". Its slogan is "The West's Most Western Town". Scottsdale, 31 miles long and 11.4 miles wide at its widest point, shares boundaries with many other municipalities and entities. On the west, Scottsdale is bordered by Phoenix, Paradise Valley, and unincorporated Maricopa County land. Carefree is also located along the western boundary, as well as sharing Scottsdale's northern boundary with the Tonto National Forest. To the south Scottsdale is bordered by Tempe. The southern boundary is also occupied by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, which also extends along the Eastern boundary, which also borders Fountain Hills, the McDowell Mountain Regional Park and more unincorporated Maricopa County land.[ https://youtu.be/yYen-A57G08 Old town Scottsdale

Went exploring at Sasco Arizona, a ghost town that came to be from copper mining. It's located between Marana and Eloy Arizona off of Interstate 10. It was extremely hot (about 105) so we didn't hang around long. Had a lot of trouble with the Drone as you can see. Warning: There's a few expletives (mostly the s word)..We plan on going back and exploring the rest when it's cooler out. Enjoy.

Currently undergoing restoration (as of 2018), it is open to tourists as a guided, and self guided tour. Plan on arriving early and call ahead if you want to take the tour. We visited an abandoned master planned community in Arizona, this place has been abandoned since the housing crisis of 2008. The Mohave County APPROVED the Silverado Ranch Master Planned Community in 2006. The developers had purchased 4,800 acres of land outside Kingman, AZ. They immediately began to grade, and build the models along with 15 homes. The community had plans for more than 12,000 homes, an 18-hole golf course, with more than 1,600 acres of commercial development & schools. The project was scratched in 2008 due to the U.S Housing crash, soon after plans for a 1 Billion dollar solar plant was approved by the county. Unfortunately, the developer never filed an application with the Arizona Corporate Commission, and the plant was never built. MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WASTED!!! Robson's Mining World was an amazing historic mine to visit! Tons of Old Mining Equipment, historic vehicles, famous works of art, unique buildings, Yavapai Apache Petroglyphs, a Saguaro Cactus forest in the Sonoran desert, and more! This place had so much to see at it! Tons of old engines, historic trucks, a wagon from the 1750's, rocks, gems, old books including a Mark Twain first edition, old buildings, and beautiful scenery. It's only about 25 minutes from Wickenburg, Arizona. Robson's Ranch & Mining Camp is one of the best preserved original mining claims in Arizona. The first claim to mine was in 1917 and was called the Gold Leaf Mine. In 1924, the mine changed hands to Ned Creighton who renamed it the Nella-Meda Mine. Take the time to go to Robson's Mining World! One of my favorite historic sites in Arizona!

http://rawhide.com On my way to Scottsdale, Ariz., I wanted to take my family to Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass. This reproduction of an 1880s frontier town is the perfect place to get a taste of pioneer life. The wooden structures, randomly placed wagons and stagecoach mules create such a feeling of authenticity. The kids were very interested in the town jailhouse where you can actually have someone arrested, and they couldn’t get enough of the petting zoo, old-fashioned candy shop and toy store. Throw in a live stunt show and a functioning blacksmith shop, and we were happier than pigs in mud. Because Rawhide is near Scottsdale, it was easy to fit the trip in before we headed to our room at the Thunderbird Suites Hotel. http://www.thunderbirdsuiteshotel.com

After an hour along some of the most scenic parts of the drive on Route 66. Where the road and the vistas are hard to beat we stumbled into Oatman, Arizona -- an old gold mining town that was a favorite get-away for Clark Gable. In fact, it's said he spent his honeymoon with Carole Lombard here. Tourism has replaced gold as its number one resource. Its impossible not to be sucked into this four block long old West curio shop.

We discovered an old abandoned mine while on an expedition through the Bradshaw Mountains so we checked it out. It is a pretty extensive mine with lots of cool wooden structures, ore shoots, flooded mines, ore cart rail tracks, mill site, and core samples.
