What is CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER? What does CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER mean?

What is CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER? What does CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER mean? CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER meaning - CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER definition - CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE PROVIDER explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ In Microsoft Windows, a Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) is a software library that implements the Microsoft CryptoAPI (CAPI). CSPs implement encoding and decoding functions, which computer application programs may use, for example, to implement strong user authentication or for secure email. CSPs are independent modules that can be used by different applications. A user program calls CryptoAPI functions and these are redirected to CSPs functions. Since CSPs are responsible for implementing cryptographic algorithms and standards, applications do not need to be concerned about security details. Furthermore, one application can define which CSP it is going to use on its calls to CryptoAPI. In fact, all cryptographic activity is implemented in CSPs. CryptoAPI only works as a bridge between the application and the CSP. CSPs are implemented basically as a special type of DLL with special restrictions on loading and use. Every CSP must be digitally signed by Microsoft and the signature is verified when Windows loads the CSP. In addition, after being loaded, Windows periodically re-scans the CSP to detect tampering, either by malicious software such as computer viruses or by the user him/herself trying to circumvent restrictions (for example on cryptographic key length) that might be built into the CSP's code. To obtain a signature, non-Microsoft CSP developers must supply paperwork to Microsoft promising to obey various legal restrictions and giving valid contact information. As of circa 2000, Microsoft did not charge any fees to supply these signatures. For development and testing purposes, a CSP developer can configure Windows to recognize the developer's own signatures instead of Microsoft's, but this is a somewhat complex and obscure operation unsuitable for nontechnical end users. The CAPI/CSP architecture had its origins in the era of restrictive US government controls on the export of cryptography. Microsoft's default or "base" CSP then included with Windows was limited to 512-bit RSA public-key cryptography and 40-bit symmetric cryptography, the maximum key lengths permitted in exportable mass market software at the time. CSPs implementing stronger cryptography were available only to U.S. residents, unless the CSPs themselves had received U.S. government export approval. The system of requiring CSPs to be signed only on presentation of completed paperwork was intended to prevent the easy spread of unauthorized CSPs implemented by anonymous or foreign developers. As such, it was presented as a concession made by Microsoft to the government, in order to get export approval for the CAPI itself. After the Bernstein v. United States court decision establishing computer source code as protected free speech and the transfer of cryptographic regulatory authority from the U.S. State Department to the more pro-export Commerce Department, the restrictions on key lengths were dropped, and the CSPs shipped with Windows now include full-strength cryptography. The main use of third-party CSPs is to interface with external cryptography hardware such as hardware security modules (HSM) or smart cards.

What is an API?

03:25
What exactly is an API? Finally learn for yourself in this helpful video from MuleSoft, the API experts. https://www.mulesoft.com/platform/api The textbook definition goes something like this: “An application programming interface (API) is a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications. An API expresses a software component in terms of its operations, inputs, outputs, and underlying types. An API defines functionalities that are independent of their respective implementations, which allows definitions and implementations to vary without compromising each other. A good API makes it easier to develop a program by providing all the building blocks. APIs often come in the form of a library that includes specifications for routines, data structures, object classes, and variables. In other cases, notably SOAP and REST services, an API is simply a specification of remote calls exposed to the API consumers. An API specification can take many forms, including an International Standard, such as POSIX, vendor documentation, such as the Microsoft Windows API, or the libraries of a programming language, e.g., the Standard Template Library in C++ or the Java APIs. An API differs from an application binary interface (ABI) in that an API is source code-based while an ABI is a binary interface. For instance POSIX is an API, while the Linux Standard Base provides an ABI”. To speak plainly, an API is the messenger that runs and delivers your request to the provider you’re requesting it from, and then delivers the response back to you. To give you a familiar example, think of an API as a waiter in a restaurant. Imagine you’re sitting at the table with a menu of choices to order from, and the kitchen is the provider who will fulfill your order. What’s missing is the critical link to communicate your order to the kitchen and deliver your food back to your table. That’s where the waiter (or API) comes in. ”AHEM” The waiter takes your order, delivers it to the kitchen, and then delivers the food (or response) back to you. (Hopefully without letting your order crash if designed correctly) Now that we’ve whetted your appetite, let’s apply this to a real API example. In keeping with our theme, let’s book a flight to a culinary capital – Paris. You’re probably familiar with the process of searching for airline flights online. Just like at a restaurant, you have a menu of options to choose from ( a dropdown menu in this case). You choose a departure city and date, a return city and date, cabin class, and other variables (like meal or seating, baggage or pet requests) In order to book your flight, you interact with the airline’s website to access the airline’s database to see if any seats are available on those dates, and what the cost might be based on certain variables. But, what if you are not using the airline’s website, which has direct access to the information? What if you are using online travel service that aggregates information from many different airlines? Just like a human interacts with the airline’s website to get that information, an application interacts with the airline’s API. The API is the interface that, like your helpful waiter, runs and and delivers the data from that online travel service to the airline’s systems over the Internet. It also then takes the airline’s response to your request and delivers right back to the online travel service . And through each step of the process it facilitates that interaction between the travel service and the airline’s systems - from seat selection to payment and booking. So now you can see that it’s APIs that make it possible for us all to use travel sites. They interface with with airlines’ APIs to gather information in order to present options back to us The same goes for all interactions between applications, data and devices - they all have API’s that allow computers to operate them, and that's what ultimately creates connectivity. API’s provide a standard way of accessing any application, data or device whether it is shopping from your phone, or accessing cloud applications at work. So, whenever you think of an API, just think of it as your waiter running back and forth between applications, databases and devices to deliver data and create the connectivity that puts the world at our fingertips. And whenever you think of creating an API, think MuleSoft.

Crypto Portfolio mit Excel - Schritt für Schritt Anleitung!

20:06

Your driving license to expert cryptography

01:13:59
http://www.wibu.com/webinar-your-driving-license-to-expert-cryptography.html - Download the slide deck Few successful software applications don’t use cryptographic methods to protect code and data from predatory attacks. By analogy, applying cryptography is like driving a car. Just as you first have to learn what all the controls are for before you can go zipping down the interstate, first you must become familiar with basic cryptographic methods. And just like yesterday’s trendy car is no longer in vogue today, obsolescence in security is accelerating. There isn’t much you can do to slow down technological evolution, but as a software developer, you can ensure that a primary responsibility is to use cryptography properly and safely. CodeMeter® from Wibu-Systems offers a wide range of cryptographic methods. Nevertheless, even great technologies like CodeMeter may fail if they have been implemented poorly or without the necessary safety precautions. The presentation provides an overview of the available cryptographic methods in the CodeMeter API. An essential key point is the secure storage of private and secret keys; the first question you should ask yourself is where you should be storing your licenses. CmDongle, the hardware-based protection vessel, offers an impenetrable fortress. CmActLicense, the software-based container, is available with a unique and proprietary technology, SmartBind®. The private and secret keys are stored in an encrypted license file whose key is the fingerprint of the specific PC to which the license file is bound. How to operate encryption is your second important decision; that should depend on the kind of application you have developed and the threat scenario you are going to face in your business model. Finally, there are many cool facts: did you know that in Counter Mode (CTR), encryption with AES is really just about XOR? For example, consider a database field with a Boolean value. A simple encryption with AES returns exactly two possible encrypted values. This means that an attacker would actually be able to derive the unencrypted value for all records by knowing just one record. This is where our presentation begins: we show you practical examples about how to implement CodeMeter in ways that allow it to protect your software today and tomorrow. During this hour together, we discuss: * HASH functions - SHA 256 * Symmetric encryption - AES 128 - Direct encryption in CmContainer - Indirect encryption - Encryption without CmContainer - Selection of the most appropriate operating mode * Asymmetric encryption - ECC 224 - RSA 2048

Excel Crypto Spreadsheet Part 2. How to import web data into your excel

03:42
TO IMPORT CMC DATA: MAC 1. Create a microsoft word, enter the text 'https://coinmarketcap.com/' 2. Save the file as a .txt file type, except end the name with .iqy (you may need to rename the file with .iqy so excel will recognize it. 3. In Excel, go to the CMC data tab, click the first cell in the top left, and then click Data - Run External Data - Run Web Query and then click on the iqy file you created. 4. You'll see a huge chart with the top 100 coins and their prices. To the right of that is a grid I created, using a formula that will capture the price of your coin of interest, independent of what rank the coin has (this is a workaround from writing a script to fetch individual coin data). You can easily add new coins of interest by adding a new column. For more detailed step by step instructions, see https://3qdigital.com/experience/web-queries-mac-yes-can-heres PC Sorry I don't have a PC anymore! But the process is quite similar. Check out these previous reddit posts: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/6b16fk/how_to_import_coinmarketcap_data_into_excel_and/ https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/6c2g43/if_you_want_to_keep_track_of_your/ https://i.imgur.com/q9VkMPn.jpg ---- I wanted to share an excel spreadsheet that I created. I use it to record all of my trades. It imports the current price of each coin from coinmarketcap.com to quickly summarize your total portfolio value - it updates every few minutes! It's a great way to look back on the coins you bought, at the prices you bought them, and how much money you've made from each coin. Also, by keeping track of how much USD (or other currency) that you put into crypto, and by keeping track of how much you pull out, you can easily calculate your capital gains (or losses) for your next year's tax forms. If you really enjoy using the spreadsheet and want to share the love, feel free to send me a tip! I'm currently unemployed and every little bit helps keep my family going, thank you. BCH Bitcoin Cash Address: 1E9tqnEcrf4pw67BWuLUUXbJL4aT8pDYRG ETH Ethereum Address: 0xfF47F898236941006885054E9AB4B52496F6D18d BTC Bitcoin Address: 1QKGtYKSR1ybBZEhXU3xdcmAcVrtTcQWKu Instructions for use: 1. There are three columns for each coin. a. In the left column, enter the amount of the coin you just bought or sold (e.g. -0.12, .55). This will total in the bottom row. b. In the center column, you can record the price of the coin when you bought it (this is optional, as I know some people trade pairs and would rather record the, for example, the cost of ETH using BTC). c. The right column, you can multiply the value in the left column and the value in the middle column to get the total amount of money you put into that transaction. 2. For each transaction… a. For USD to coin, I would enter the amount of USD that I spent or withdrew in the column on the left, and fill out the info for the coin in that coin's column. b. For coin to coin, I would fill out the info for each coin in the same row. For example, if I bought ETH with BTC, I would record the amount of BTC I spent (as a negative value in the leftmost column of the BTC section) and I would record the amount of ETH I bought (as a positive value in the leftmost column of the ETH section).

How to Use Google Authenticator on a Windows 10 PC

06:13
How to Use Google Authenticator on a Windows 10 PC or google authenticator setup help or google authenticator wordpress:-WinAuth is a simple, portable and open-source application which supports different two-step authentication apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft, Battle.net, etc. You can download the application from its official website. Once downloaded, extract the zip file and open the application. As you can see, the application itself is minimal and easy to use. WinAuth supports any service or website that uses the Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or an RFC 6283 based authenticator. It also supports games such as Battle.Net (World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo III), GuildWars 2, Glyph, WildStar, Runescape, SWTOR and Steam. WinAuth requires no installation and is a single executable file, and so can be run from a USB drive or stored and run from cloud files services such as DropBox, Google Drive, or SkyDrive. google authenticator wordpress, google authenticator chrome, google authenticator app, google authenticator windows 10 login, google authenticator setup on new phone, google authenticator setup help,How to Use Google Authenticator on a Windows 10 PC,google authenticator window, google authenticator windows 10,google authenticator windows rdp, google authenticator windows 7,google authenticator windows, google authenticator windows phone, google authenticator windows login If your configuration file (winauth.xml, normally stored in your Windows roaming profile) is in the same folder as the WinAuth program, it will use that instead and switch into “portable” mode, not saving any other information to the computer. All private authenticator data is encrypted with your own personal password, salted and enhanced with key strengthening to reduce the ability for brute force attacks. The data can also be protected using Windows in-built Data Protection API, which will “lock” the data to a single computer or account, making it completely unusable if copied to another computer. A YubiKey can be used to further enchance the protection by providing a secret key stored only on the YubiKey itself, and must be physically plugged into the computer before WinAuth can be opened. Each authenticator can also additionally have its own secondary password that is required before any codes are decrypted, calculated and displayed. Finally, all codes are drawn directly onto the screen to prevent any malware from “windows spying”. Hot-keys Each authenticator can be assigned a hot-key to notify, display, clipboard copy or inject the current code into another application. An advanced injection script can also be created to automate username, password and code entry. Scripts are part of the private data and also fully encrypted along with the authenticator data.
