And the source of that fortune? Timely exploitation of a vast, then-untapped natural resource: oil. Well, the days of oil may be numbered, but there’s another natural resource that’s never been touched, is effectively inexhaustible, and has a dollar value large enough to disrupt entire economies. That resource? Asteroids, and the precious materials they contain. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson predicts that the world’s first trillionaire will be an asteroid miner. The Rockefellers of the 21st century may be less like the internet and tech moguls of the 20th century and more like the old-school oil barons of the 19th century. Problems with Co-ops

06:11
Check out my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ComradeHakim A general overview of the problems with co-ops. Basic points below. Coops, despite having some revolutionary potential, are nonetheless working within the Capitalist framework. As competition is inherent to Capitalism, and as a result of this competition, the cooperative and its process of production is made subject to the interests of capital, and by extension, exploitation. What this means is that exploitation becomes a necessary condition for the life and survival of the cooperative. Now, how does capital express its domination over the cooperative? 1. Through the intensification of labour. According the situation in the market, work days are either prolonged or shortened. Workers are hired and fired. The cooperative must compete with other (usually conventional) Capitalist enterprises to stay afloat after all. Hence, cooperative enterprises must employ all methods a conventional Capitalist enterprise employs in order to stay competitive, or they’d fail. As a result of this, workers are forced into being against their own interests. Workers must take the role of the Capitalist then, and either turn the cooperative into a conventional Capitalist enterprise, or, if the interests of the workers continue to predominate, the enterprise fails. Now, being aware of the previously stated problems, is there a way around this? Well, the only road to success for the cooperative working within a Capitalist framework, is to maintain for itself a constant stream of consumers. In doing so, it removes itself from the laws of the market (those being the laws of competition) and can hence remain afloat. This produces problems of its own however, for example: 1. How can such cooperatives be established where conventional Capitalist enterprise reign supreme? For example, opening up a cooperative grocery store next to a Walmart would be incredibly stupid because Walmart is A. already well-established in the region and B. provides goods at a cheaper price. Not a recipe for a successful coop. 2. Even if a cooperative manages to establish itself somewhere remote with no competition, it would have to limit itself to its region and not grow outside it, as it would come into the same problems as with the Walmart example. It would also need to form some sort of “consumer cooperative” that solely consumes from these producing cooperatives (this is one of the only ways they would be able to ensure a steady stream of consumers for themselves). 3. Nothing is stopping any conventional Capitalist enterprise from coming in and out-competing the coop (as such conventional Capitalist enterprises employ the exploitation of their workers to the fullest and hence manage to provide goods at a cheaper price). 4. These hypothetical cooperatives would also have to limit themselves to, most likely, the immediate needs of the local population, such as food production. Cooperative enterprises limited to agriculture and not expanding into metal work, mining, heavy industry etc. isn’t a very promising road for radical change. In fact, the only way in which such cooperatives would be sustained would be through the breaking up of the world economy into small, local spheres of production and exchange. Modern day late-stage Capitalism would have to revert to the merchant economy of the middle ages. Now having said all this, what are the positives of cooperative enterprises? Well, there are several: 1. A democratic, cooperative way of running an enterprise could help alleviate feelings of alienation in the workplace. This is even supported by research, as cooperative workers are generally happier than their counterparts working in conventional Capitalist enterprises. 2. Second, and most importantly in my opinion, workers working and running a cooperative proves to the workers themselves that they do have both the knowledge and tools necessary to run the local, and by extension, worldwide economy. A common argument against Socialism in general is that the Capitalists are needed in order for the enterprise to function normally, but this is blatantly not true, as cooperative enterprises have already proven. Those working and directly influencing the course of production understand magnitudes more than a detached board of directors thousands of miles away. All in all, cooperatives won’t bring about Socialism on their own, and they can only be maintained permanently through the overarching aim of dismantling Capitalism and establishing the dictatorship of the proletariat. In simpler terms, cooperatives can only be viable when coupled with a political strategy, focused on not only creating an economic alternative to Capitalism, but also aiming for the construction of Socialism. Why our economic model must change - VPRO documentary

45:00
Why is our economic model all about growth? Is growth the only way for our economic model to be successful? Or is there another economic model that is much more sustainable and less outdated as the one we are living in? A documentary about our economic model and the idea of a new one. In Doughnut economics by Kate Raworth, we see that markets are inefficient and growth is not the holy grail. It's time for a new economic model: the doughnut economics. Kate Raworth's plea for the 'doughnut economics' casts doubt on the credo of economic growth for sustainability: there are hard limits to what you can do to the planet. Kate Raworth's doughnut economics could change our future. Let's have a look. Hurray, the economy is growing again! We have done a lot of shopping after the increase of our purchasing power. However, CO2 emissions and inequality are rising just as fast. What can you do about this? The British economist Kate Raworth uses a powerful image for a new circular economy: the doughnut, thus introducing the doughnut economics. Our economic activities should not fly out of the curve but grow within its limits, in an ideal circle. Is our economic behavior at the service of growth and profit or does it serve man and planet? With that question, economist Kate Raworth, a researcher at the 'Environmental Change Institute' in Oxford, set to work. Instead of rising lines and rising graphs, a different ideal image emerged: our economy should function according to the doughnut model. How that works exactly, Raworth described in the book 'Doughnut Economics', which has achieved true cult status among connoisseurs. Raworth's plea for the 'doughnut economics' casts doubt on the credo of economic growth for sustainability: there are hard limits to what you can do to the planet. From the start of your business, you have to think and act circularly. Anyone who undertakes in this way, for example, remains under the ecological ceiling of a maximum of 1.5 degrees Celsius warming of the earth and at the same time sets the minimum wage for employees at a fairer social level. Using video fragments, various round attributes, and a special table, Kate Raworth shows how our economics can fundamentally be structured differently. With growth, but within the set limits. Or is reality squarer? After all, it has been ingrained in all of us that a diamond ring equals love and the bigger the diamond, the more love there must be. Well, believe it or not, diamonds really aren’t all that rare. In fact, the reason diamonds cost so much is more due to savvy (and sometimes unethical) business practices and incredibly successful advertising campaigns than the actual inherent value of the stone based on supply and demand, something anyone who has actually tried to sell a diamond quickly comes to realize. Here now is the story of how and why we all fell in love with diamonds. Expanse mining contract results September 2017 week 1. Expanse mining profits have decreased with 50% and more... I came from mining 12.7 expanse per day 7 days ago to 3.33 per day, disappointing.. But the expanse price stood it's ground during the recent market crash, and is still above $3. The expanse mining difficulty has increased a lot, together with a drop in luck rate for our pool makes this a big drop in expanse income. Because of this the price will be more steady, and I'm hoping for an increase in the expanse price so we can still make a good profit. In theory if the mining difficulty goes up 50% and the price rises with 50%, mining income will remain the same. Are There Limits on Emergency Powers? With John Yoo and Richard Epstein

53:46
Recorded on January 17, 2019. Can a sitting president be indicted? What emergency powers does President Trump have to build a border wall and stop the government shutdown? Richard Epstein and John Yoo sit down with Peter Robinson to answer these legal questions and more regarding the constitutional powers of the presidency, the state of the Supreme Court, the Mueller investigation, and the legality (or lack thereof) of indicting a sitting president. As the country continues to deal with a partial government shutdown, Epstein and Yoo address the shutdown, the likelihood of its coming to a timely end, and what kind of bipartisan compromise could end it. Yoo suggests that one potential outcome would be that Democrats require the legalized status of DREAMers in exchange for border-wall funding. Epstein argues that President Trump will have to cave if services like TSA screening begin to shut down from lack of funding. They both agree that the longer the shutdown goes on, the more likely citizens are to get increasingly frustrated with both parties, regardless of the moral stances the party leaders are taking. For what and when can a president declare a national emergency? Epstein and Yoo dive into the history of national emergencies and presidential emergency powers. They discuss which presidents have declared national emergencies in the past and for what reasons, who has the standing to stop a national emergency, and the fact that no court has ever reversed a national emergency. (In 1952, during the Korean War, President Truman issued Executive Order 10340, which ordered US steel mills to operate despite a nationwide strike because Truman wanted to keep materiel flowing to the front. The court concluded that seizing the mills was a legislative act that could only be authorized by Congress.) Epstein and Yoo discuss William Barr, President Trump’s newly appointed attorney general, and his congressional-hearing questions about the Mueller investigation. They discuss Barr’s legal background, his personal relationship with Mueller, and the likelihood that he would fire Mueller if asked to. Yoo argues that the best course of action for the Mueller investigation is to allow Mueller to clear Trump of any wrongdoing, which would put a stop to any Democrats’ arguments to the contrary. Modern Portfolio Theory, the Efficient Market Hypothesis, and the Power of Dividend Investing

01:03:05
Subscribe to Hidden Forces and gain access to the episode overtime, transcript, and show rundown here: http://hiddenforces.io/subscribe   In Episode 73 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with Daniel Peris, a Senior Portfolio Manager at Federated Investors in Pittsburgh where he oversees the firm's dividend-focused products. Today’s conversation is about the evolution of financial theory, beginning with the rough and tumble world of 19th-century finance with its stock syndicates, market corners, and curb exchanges. Where big personalities like Daniel Drew, James Fisk, and Jay Gould conspired and fought to take from Joe Public, and from each other, the riches afforded to them by laissez-faire capitalism and the industrial revolution. The discussion is broken into two parts. The first deals with the world as it was before 1929 with its unregulated, unstructured, and highly inefficient markets. The second part explores the world after the Great Crash, where a confluence of forces – economic, demographic, institutional, and intellectual – supported the procurement and distribution of a new set of financial theories that promised to explain away uncertainty and guide the allocation of risk in the pursuit of profits. As inheritors of this new world, we cannot help but function under the fallacies of its paradigms. One of these fallacies is the notion that economies are independent phenomena that operate, by and large, according to a certain set of physical laws. Most people will acknowledge that our economic and financial models are imperfect, but most people also think of them as being somewhat analogous to models developed in the natural sciences. Because of this false comparison to physics (equilibrium) and nature (normal distributions), people often remain unaware of the centrality of politics in theories of the economy. Economies are not independent phenomena that answer only to the laws of nature. They are political and social phenomena that exist within a political system. Theories of the economy that do not take into account the system within which they operate are flawed...in some cases, significantly so. Austrian theories of money and credit, for example, are better at describing how the banking system operates in a laissez-faire society, whereas Modern Monetary Theory is better at describing how it works in our current, fiat-based system of unrestrained credit growth. What often happens is that devotees of these different schools are actually advocating for a specific set of policies, under the pretense that their views are scientific and that their policies derive logically from some objective view of how an ideal economy operates, when in fact, they are based on political values and societal ideals. The MMT school is full of progressive social-democrats who want governments to play a larger role in the economy, whereas the Austrian school is full of conservative libertarians who want less government. This sorting along political lines is not a coincidence. Investment theories operate rather differently than theories about the economy, in that there is no argument in the investment world about what matters most. It’s profits. In light of this fact, the discrepancies between various investment theories require alternative explanations that do not rely on political ideology or moral sentiment. It would seem sufficient to declare that the widespread adoption of theories like Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT), the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH), Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), etc., was enabled by the growth of a large middle class with excess income available for investment that had not directly experienced the boom and bust of the Roaring 20’s and accelerated by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974. Entrepreneurially minded financial industry professionals saw an opportunity, but this opportunity required a more streamlined approach to investing and one that would put themselves, and their clients, at ease. The need to bring order to the chaotic world of prices has encouraged the adoptions of systematic investment strategies that claimed the ability to quantify risk. When it comes to investing other people’s money, having a more coherent, easy-to-understand theory that provides the illusion of control is a very valuable tool. From an evolutionary point of view, it is no wonder how theories purporting to quantify risk and target reward proliferated so quickly. It was in everyone’s interest that they do so. How these theories came together to form the dominant, ideological template of risk-adjusted-return measured against exposure to the broader market is the essence of today’s episode. Its significance can be found in the implications associated with equating diversification with correlation: trading idiosyncratic risk for systemic risk and what happens when everyone is doing it. UW Allen School Colloquium: Arvind Narayanan (Princeton University)

New games, new markets: the science of cryptocurrencies and incentives Abstract: The security of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies rests on assumptions about the behavior of miners. But when miners act in their self interest, could the system collapse? This is a game theory question. Mining is unlike other games we're familiar with, and our intuitions can be badly misleading. For example, a miner can divide her mining power into arbitrarily many slices and execute a different strategy for each slice. I'll present results that contradict widely held assumptions both in the "proof of work" and "proof of stake" settings. Cryptocurrencies also enable new types of markets. The blockchain is a limited resource, which has led to a market for block space, where users must pay for their transactions to be included in the blockchain. Unlike other markets, supply is undifferentiated (most users don't care which miner picks up their transaction) but demand is highly heterogeneous (transactions have different sizes and priorities). When we empirically analyze the block space market and other markets using publicly available blockchain data, we find surprising behavior. These findings help inform the design of future blockchain-based markets. The science of incentives in cryptocurrencies is at its infancy, and I'll argue for an approach that combines rigorous theory with careful measurement. This talk is based on several recent and ongoing projects including: http://randomwalker.info/publications/mining_CCS.pdf https://arxiv.org/pdf/1709.02489.pdf http://randomwalker.info/publications/namespaces.pdf http://www.jbonneau.com/doc/CBEKMN14-WEIS-decentralizing_prediction_markets.pdf Bio: Arvind Narayanan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Princeton. MSc Data Sciences Business Analytics - Machine Learning Part 2/7 - Chloé-Agathe Azencott

26:09
Msc in Data Sciences and Business Analytics is a brand new program proposed and coordinated by CentraleSupélec and ESSEC Business School . Check all details here: http://bit.ly/1JnOF5H Here is the Machine Learning course (First Lecture) by Prof. Chloé-Agathe Azencott, Centre for Computational Biology, Mines ParisTech. September 2015 [Part 2/7]: Classes of machine learning problems Machine learning lies at the heart of data science. It is essentially the intersection between statistics and computation, though the principles of machine learning have been rediscovered from many different traditions, including artificial intelligence, Bayesian statistics, and frequentist statistics. In this course, we view machine learning as the automatic learning of a prediction function given a training sample of data (labeled or not). Machine learning methods form the foundation of many successful companies and technologies in multiple domains. Their applications, to name a few, include search engines, robotics, bioinformatics analyses of genetic data, algorithmic trading, social network analysis, targeted advertising, computer vision, or machine translation. This course gives an overview of the most important trends in machine learning, with a particular focus on statistical risk and its minimization with respect to a prediction function. A substantial lab section involves group projects on data science competitions and gives students the ability to apply the course theory to real-world problems. Senior Loeb Scholar lecture: David Harvey

01:48:04
3/28/16 It is David Harvey’s contention that the production of space, especially the distribution and organization of the territory, constitutes a principal aspect of capitalist economies. His writings on this theme have contributed to the ongoing political debate on globalization and on the different spatial strategies associated to global processes. A foundation of Harvey’s intellectual project is his “close reading” and interpretation of Karl Marx’s Capital, which he has taught and read for decades and documented in his Companion to Marx’s Capital (2010). But Harvey’s work is distinguished by the way he has brought Marxism together with geography with productive results for each discipline. For instance, he has approached the overaccumulation of capital by way of its reflection in spatial expansion in order to demonstrate its causative role. His book Limits to Capital (1982), which traces this argument, is a mainstay of the contemporary understanding of capitalism’s perennial economic crises (among others are Ernest Mandel’s Late Capitalism (1972), Giovanni Arrighi’s Long 20th Century (1994) and Robert Brenner’s Economics of Global Turbulence (2006)). Among other ideas, Harvey is known for his critical interpretation of the ideas of Henri Lefebvre and his own formulation of the “right to the city.” His book Spaces of Hope (2000) explores a role for architecture in bridging between the human body and the uneven development that is characteristic of globalization. Asked to single out a favorite of Harvey’s books, Dean Mohsen Mostafavi refers to Harvey’s book Social Justice and the City (1973) as “an important articulation of the relationship between the city as a physical artifact and its social consequences. His writings have provided an acute analysis of our society and provide an indispensable framework for new forms of spatial imagination." David Harvey, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology & Geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), is the 2015–2016 Senior Loeb Scholar.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSI), also called corporate conscience is when business takes responsibility by participating in initiatives that benefit the society at large. Trialogue, a consultancy company who's main is to track South Africa's corporate's performance on social investment estimates the total CSI expenditure in South Africa to be around R8.1 billion for the 2014/15 financial year. This amount shows a decline due to reduction in corporate profits according to participating companies. Are We Running Out of Resources?

04:08
Prof. Steve Horwitz addresses the common belief that the world is running out of natural resources. Instead, there are economic reasons why we will never run out of many resources. In a free market system, prices signal scarcity. So as a resource becomes more scarce, it becomes more expensive, which incentivizes people to use less of it and develop new alternatives, or to find new reserves of that resource that were previously unknown or unprofitable. We have seen throughout history that the human mind's ability to innovate, coupled with a free market economic system, is an unlimited resource that can overcome the limitations we perceive with natural resources. What Are Bitcoins? How Do Bitcoins Work? virtual currency global financial market trading stock

02:04
By now, you have most likely heard of Bitcoin, the "first decentralized digital currency," in the world. Created in 2009, the peer-to-peer currency used for instant electron payment. It is ideal for conducting international transactions because it is not subject to exchange rates or transactions fees, as it can be bought and sold on an exchange in return for the local currency. Though not the only crypto-currency, it certainly is the one that has drawn the most attention, and for good reason. In February 2013, one bitcoin would have cost you $20, as of this writing one bitcoin goes for about $900. Talk about a pretty good return on investment. So how does it work? 1. Who issues bitcoins? Via: Forbes Bitcoin has no central monetary authority. The creators have fixed the supply of bitcoins to around 21 million, and no new bitcoins can be added into the supply. Therefore, theoretically, a bitcoin can't be devalued. The system is based on a deflationary economic model. As time progresses, the available supply of bitcoins will decrease, eventually reaching its limit near 2140. As a result, the value of each bitcoin will rise in the long run, or so the argument goes. 2. How are they distributed? Computers operating within a peer-to-peer computer network mathematically generate the currency. Known as Bitcoin "mining," the network approves a user's updates around every 10 minutes, and a fixed number of bitcoins is provided to the user. The system was developed so that as time progresses, it becomes more challenging to mine the bitcoins. As a result, people must continue to build powerful and massive computers to aquire the currency. 3. Who buys bitcoins and how can they be purchased or sold? Bitcoins can be purchased (and sold) by anyone who holds traditional currency. Remember, Bitcoin is a digital currency. Though some physical bitcoins exist, each is linked with a distinct identification tag backed by real digital bitcoins embedded inside. In order for the owner to access the funds, the coin's hologram must be stripped away to reveal a redeemable "private key." The owners of the physical coins and those online can conduct transactions at several worldwide exchanges, or directly between peers through software. Since Bitcoin can be bought and sold directly through the exchanges in return for a country's local currency, it is ideal for conducting international transactions without having to use exchange rates or pay bank fees. While it reduces costs, the ease of the transactions, combined with the complexity of the Bitcoin system, has made Bitcoin attractive to individuals conducting illicit activities. Last month, a PolicyMic article detailed the prevalence of Bitcoin transactions on the (now closed) Silk Road market place. 4. Who accepts bitcoins as a means of exchange? Via: Virgin Galactic Over the past year, there has been a substantial increase in the number of merchants accepting Bitcoin as a valid method of payment. In fact, you can even buy a trip to space with Bitcoin. Around the U.S. many small and local businesses are beginning to accept the currency. Additionally, companies such as BitPay enable businesses to accept bitcoins as payment and then receive final payments in local currency. The service acts an intermediary, confirming the Bitcoin payment and paying the merchant in the local currency. A similar service, Coinbase, just raised $25 million in a Series B round led by the venture capital firm of Marc Andreeseen, the co-founder of Netscape. The company provides services not only for merchants, but also for consumers. It has digital wallets, allowing users to purchase and sell bitcoins in addition to spending them. The company has over 600,000 users and has signed up over 16,000 merchants who will accept bitcoins through Coinbase. Yet small businesses aren't the only ones who accept the currency as payment. See How Much Money I Made with Bitcoin

03:54
Bitcoin is a great tool to make lots of money online. Watch how I made it my primary cash cow. What is Bitcoin? and How do you mine it? Well, this video will go over Bitcoin mining and show you how to set up Bitcoin Mining Software on your computer. Bitcoin is a digital currency, which is supported by a P2P network of computers across the internet that act as servers to process the financial transactions of this currency. Some believe Bitcoin is a Scam, or Ponzi scheme, but once one understands the concept of Bitcoin, it is clear that it is not. While the uses for Bitcoin are virtually infinite (paying for goods, services, or money laundering, gambling and drug smuggling) it's structure remains concrete and open source. However, the VALUE of each Bitcoin is disputable. In theory, Bitcoin becomes harder and harder to mine, which means it takes more and more energy (electricity for your computer/"mining rig" to run) to process Bitcoin and solve "Blocks" of data. Therefore, the price of Bitcoin may be related to the price of energy and the cost of maintaining this network. While it is easy to assert that there will be additional computers added to the network daily, which would ease the work load on the initial nodes, one can only speculate that the price of Bitcoin MUST increase over time. Especially when power costs in the foreseeable future will be rising. Currently, only 21,000,000 Bitcoins can be created, but that I guarantee will rise, as many are hoarding the coins and there just simply wont be enough to go around and not enough work, or transaction data, for the increasing number of miners out there. Specialized computers and "Mining Rigs" are becoming available from companies such as Butterfly Labs and others, which harness ASIC technology. ASIC means application-specific integrated circuit- so these devices are engineered to mine Bitcoin and only mine Bitcoin. This creates an extremely powerful, and efficient machine, over 100x times more efficient than current setups. These machines are said to be able to mine Bitcoin up to 50 GH/s (if that means anything to you, but it's A LOT) extremely efficiently! More efficient than any desktop computer rig. None of these super computer miners have been shipped/received and it is still extremely uncertain whether these companies are scamming people or not. (I wouldn't PRE-order a $3,000 machine promising me all the money in the world, but many are) SO - If these machines come to market, they will truly dominate all others and render most other PC's/Rigs worthless. Anyways, enjoy the video! ___________________________________________ Bitcoin Wallet: http://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet GUI Miner: https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=3878.0 BitCoin Calculator: https://bitclockers.com/calc

investing 101, investing overview, basics, and best practices

01:30:40
investing 101, investing overview, basics, and best practices. What is 'Investing'? Investing is the act of committing money or capital to an endeavor (a business, project, real estate, etc.), with the expectation of obtaining an additional income or profit. Investing also can include the amount of time you put into the study of a prospective company. income that results from investing can come in many forms, including financial profit, interest earnings, or the appreciation of the asset. Investing refers to long-term commitment, as opposed to trading or speculating, which are short-term and often deal with heavy turnover and, consequently, a higher amount of risk. Intelligent investing is key to building wealth. Investing always contains risk as the business you invest in could go down in value or even close down completely. It is important to research the business and analyze the risk of investing before putting money down. To learn more about how investments generate capital and why an investment might benefit you, read "How Will Your Investment Make Money?" The term investing can also refer to time. For example, you could invest your time in working on a project or mentoring a promising young talent. In both of these situations, the same desired outcome applies as investing money: You're hoping to reap some sort of benefit. This benefit could come in the form of professional success (which can also lead to monetary profit) or the satisfaction of supporting another person. How to Invest? You can make an investment at a bank, with a broker or an insurance company; one can invest directly – via an angel or seed investment in a startup venture – and in several other forms. In many cases, institutions pool investment money from several individuals to make more large-scale investments, such as a majority stake in a company in order to gain more voting rights. Each individual investor can continue to hold a claim on the portion of the larger investment in some cases. Brokers handle orders for many public company stocks in exchange for a fee or commission. If you want to try your hand at investing but don't know where to start, read "Investing 101: A Tutorial For Beginner Investors." Types of Investment While a fixed income investment refers to an opportunity that brings in a set amount of interest income on a regular basis, such a bond or preferred share of a company, investments also take the form of common equity stakes. Both preferred and common company shares are forms of corporate ownership in publicly traded companies. In private equity, forms of investment also include equity stakes; however, these stakes are not traded on a public exchange.

It is still worth to buy Bitcoins ? It is to late for mining Cryptocurrency with higher fees!? ⛔⛔⛔ !

09:29
It is still worth to buy bitcoins ? It is to late for mining cryptocurrency with higher fees!? ⛔⛔⛔ ! Fees higher than 54$ are destroying bitcoin's value for small payments. Originally, one of bitcoin's big selling points was that payments would be fast, convenient, and cheap. "The cost of mediation increases transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size and cutting off the possibility for small casual transactions," wrote bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto in the white paper announcing the technology. Until the beginning of this year, bitcoin fees tended to be well below $1, and often less than $0.10. Bitcoin supporters liked to point out that fees on the bitcoin network were often a lot less than the fees merchants paid to accept credit card payments. But in recent months, bitcoin's popularity has outstripped the network's ability to cope with growing demand. As a result, the bitcoin network today is a radically different animal. Fees are high—the average transaction yesterday cost around $28. And that is having huge implications for the ways bitcoin is being used and the kinds of businesses being built on top of it. Indeed, companies that are trying to realize Nakamoto's vision of bitcoin as a platform for "small casual transactions" are starting to shift to alternative networks, because it's impossible to support small transactions when each transaction costs $20 in fees. Consider Bitpay, one of the first successful bitcoin startups. Bitpay makes it easy for ordinary businesses to accept bitcoin payments. Bitpay accepts payments on merchants' behalf and offers the option to immediately convert the payments to dollars or other conventional currencies, insulating merchants from bitcoin's volatility. In the early years, Bitpay could accept payments that were just a few pennies. But over the last year, the bitcoin network itself has seen fees go higher and higher. And Bitpay has been forced to raise transaction fees in response. "Now that fees are reaching an average of $1 per transaction across the bitcoin network, it's becoming uneconomical for users to make micropayments under $1," Bitpay wrote in a March blog post. Bitpay also announced that it would start charging customers for the transaction fees Bitpay itself faced when it received a bitcoin payment. In theory, this will allow people to make many off-chain payments for every on-chain payment, relieving bitcoin's congestion problems. The basic technology seems sound. Three teams working on independent Lightning implementations announced a 1.0 specification earlier this month and hope to unveil production-quality software implementing that specification in the coming months. But of course, the devil is in the details, and those details haven't yet been fully worked out. And even if the network works magnificently in the long run, it's not going to arrive quickly enough to avoid fee-driven turmoil in the coming months. Businesses built on the premise that bitcoin transactions will be fast and cheap will have to find some way to cope with transactions that are slow and expensive. That might mean switching to a rival like Bitcoin Cash or Dash. It might mean dropping cryptocurrency support all together until things stabilize. Or it might mean simply passing steadily rising costs on to customers. Some people in the bitcoin community want to simply raise that 1 megabyte block limit to a higher number, leaving room for more transactions. But the developers who control the standard bitcoin software have resisted doing that, arguing that it's important to ensure that ordinary bitcoin users can fully participate in bitcoin's peer-to-peer networks. Frustrated big-block advocates seceded from the mainstream bitcoin community in August, creating a rival called Bitcoin Cash that uses essentially the same code but allows blocks up to 8 megabytes. This has left the small-block faction firmly in control of the mainstream bitcoin network. And they've outlined a different vision for bitcoin's future—one that's built on a new payment layer called Lightning. Lightning uses a technique called payment channels to make bitcoin payments that don't need to be written individually to the blockchain. Instead, payment channels allow people to essentially send each other cryptographically enforceable IOUs. Many of these IOUs can be bundled together and submitted as a batch to the blockchain, spreading the cost of a single on-chain transaction across many off-chain payments. The bitcoin network is built on the blockchain, a shared global ledger that is organized into data structures called blocks. A new block is created every 10 minutes, and each block can be up to 1 megabyte in size, leaving room for around 2,000 transactions per block. A recent upgrade called segregated witness might roughly double this limit in the coming months.

02:24:18
Mufti is a 2017 Indian Kannada-language neo-noir action crime thriller film. The film tells the story of a police officer, played by Sriimurali, who tracks down and confronts an underworld boss, played by Shiva Rajkumar. At the cost of risking his life, an undercover cop Gana ventures into the big bad world of crime - a place called Ronapura, in search of a ruthless don Bhairati Ranagallu, actually peoples man taken over the place of don for justice. Let's just serve you the simple premise of the film on the platter. Mufti is a compelling story of a man Gana (Srimurli) who is an undercover policeman. The one man army or the lonely warrior Gana puts all his efforts, strenghts and power to achieve his objective. The crux of the previous line i.e. the objective of the character Gana is to capture the ruthless and fiery underworld mafia Bhairathi Ranagal. His mission is to collect evidence and arrest the underworld don Bhairathi Ranagal (Shiva Rajkumar) at the cost of risking his life. The noteworthy and idiosyncratic don Bhairathi Ranagal is the king of evil deeds. Now if we put the the character defenition of Bhairathi in simple words then he is the modern Robin Hood of the visual art with an healthy conjecture of various shades. The epic saga starts with the cinematic explanation of the villace Ranapura where the fiery don resides and rule. The simple reason behind the label of modern Robin Hood of visual art to the ruthless don Bhairathi ranagal is the projection of his professional and personal life. Bhairathi Ranagal runs many illegal buissiness majorly in mining and all the money collected from it is being used for the welfare of the poor villagers of Ronapura. As soon a s the story takes a lead, the character of this ruthless don Bhairathi Ranagal takes a wide shift from bieng a criminal to the Robin Hood of the village Ronapura. This is where our dynamic positive character of an undercover policeman Gana is influenced by the unexpected Grey shade character of the Bhairathi Ranagal. Bhairathi is the messiah of Ronapura which the major conflict plot point of this mainstream formula based experimental film. The plot point is dilemma, wiggling of thoughts, constant yet painful judgements leading to stressful decisions and the conclusion of these thoughts. Bhairathi Ranagal is a Mufti who choose his own way to provide happiness in the miserable lives of poor residents of Ronapura. The major shift in the life of Gana happens when he wish to see Bhairathi Ranagal once and actually this happen the day when Bhairathi have to visit the temple in the Ronapura village. But soon Gana realize that his master's life is in danger and the one man army Gana comes to rescue the dangerous situation. Because of this risk taking capability and unbeatable strength, Gana now becomes the right hand of the messiah of Ronapura Bhairathi Ranagal. Later, Gana learns that the local politician Raghuveer Bhandri (Devaraj) wants to kill Bhairathi because he wants to run Ronapura with brutal and corrupt bureaucracy. The story ends when Raghuveer comes to kill Bhairathi while Bhairathi was at the grave of his father. However, the one man army and alone fighter Gana comes to rescue Bhairathi again and kills all of them. Bhairathi was deeply influenced by Gana's work and dedication and hence he decides to surrender himself and accept all those charges on him.
