How to Invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Other Cryptocurrencies

10:51
Get $10 of Bitcoin free when you buy Bitcoin here: http://ianbalina.com/sixfigures/coinbase How to Start Investing in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Other Cryptocurrencies How to Start Investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum There are multiple ways to invest in virtual currencies, and it all depends on what you want. Here are the basics of buying and investing in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other alternative cryptocurrencies (altcoins). Coinbase If you’re new to cryptocurrencies, then Coinbase is the best way to get started. Coinbase is an online exchange platform for transferring, buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrency. Its creators wanted to develop an open system that would allow people to convert digital currency into their local currency. In 2013, Coinbase became the top-funded Bitcoin startup, raising over $25 million. If you signup for Coinbase using this link (http://ianbalina.com/sixfigures/coinbase), and buy or sell $100 of digital currency or more, both you and I can earn $10 of free bitcoin! GDAX and Gemini If you’ve already tested the waters and decided that Bitcoin is something worth investing in, then you need to learn how to use GDAX and Gemini. Just like Coinbase, they are exchange trading platforms that allow you to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies. However, these systems are more complex than Coinbase and perfect for day trading. Moreover, they have lower transaction fees than Coinbase. Let’s take a look at both of them to understand how they work. GDAX GDAX (Global Digital Asset Exchange) is a service provided by Coinbase that offers a secure and easy way for traders of all levels to buy and sell digital assets online and instantly, across six trading pairs: BTC (Bitcoin) to USD BTC to EUR BTC to GBP ETH (Ether) to USD ETH to BTC So, while Coinbase is a place for consumers to buy, sell, and store digital currency easily, GDAX is an exchange for professionals to trade digital assets. Coinbase created GDAX because it identified a need in the market for a more controlled exchange to trade Bitcoin and Ether. Gemini Gemini is another cryptocurrency exchange that has seen a massive expansion in the last years. As a world-class digital asset exchange, it provides an electronic trading platform to both individual and institutional customers. The process of registering and using Gemini is similar to GDAX. However, there are a few notable differences. For starters, Gemini allows you only to deposit and withdraw US Dollars, Bitcoins, and Ether. Unlike GDAX where you have six trading pairs, Gemini provides only four: USD to BTC, USD to ETH, BTC to ETH, and ETH to BTC. On the other hand, with Gemini, you can make a deposit and then use the funds within a matter of seconds. So, you don’t have to wait a few days for the transaction to be completed as it happens with GDAX. However, with Gemini, you can only trade Bitcoin and Ether, while with GDAX you can also trade Litecoin; I personally use GDAX to purchase my Bitcoin or Ether and then transfer it Poloniex, where I do my investing and trading. Poloniex and Bittrex Let’s say the gold rush for making a ton of money on Bitcoin and Ethereum is over, what can one do? No need to worry, there are numerous small virtual currencies, less well-known, that are actually growing faster than Bitcoin and Ethereum. In general, Bitcoin is the 800-pound gorilla in the room and all other non-Bitcoin currencies are referred to as Altcoins. If you head over to Coin Market Cap, you can see a list of 100 cryptocurrencies. Including Bitcoin, they all total up to a whopping $28 billion dollar market cap. In other words, a lot of people are taking their chances at these currencies. Where to Invest in Altcoins? There are numerous other smaller exchanges to invest in altcoins. I personally, use Poloniex and Bittrex to exchange bitcoin into other altcoins. One thing to note is that Poloniex and Bitttrex are cryptocurrency exchanges. You can ONLY exchange cryptocurrencies for other cryptocurrencies. You cannot purchase fiat currencies on Poloniex, you will have to do that at a different site like GDAX or Gemini. In other words, you cannot buy currencies on there using the dollar, euro, yen, etc. You can only make purchases (to exchange a currency) with bitcoin, ethereum, and a few others; bitcoin is the universal cryptocurrency for exchanging to other currencies. The #1 Mistake Beginners Make Investing in Crypto

13:38
Bitcoin and altcoin investors tend to measure their cryptocurrency gains in US dollar terms. While this is fine to do with Bitcoin, your altcoin investments should always be measured against Bitcoin to determine whether or not you generated value for yourself. If you aren't keeping track of how your performance would have been had you just bought Bitcoin rather than your current investments, you are measuring your performance incorrectly and may be destroying more value than you know despite the fact your portfolio has doubled in US dollar terms! In any other asset class out there, investors compare their returns against a relevant benchmark. Whether it's the S&P 500 or the Barclays aggregate, there is always a way to measure whether or not you're under or overperforming. With cryptocurrencies, the benchmark is Bitcoin. But you shouldn't just think of your profits in terms of Bitcoin: You should also think of basic TA in Bitcoin levels too. The reason for this is because all other cryptocurrencies see substantial amounts of volume from their Bitcoin cross-currency pair. That means support and resistance lines, channels, moving averages, RSI and many other indicators are all measured in Satoshi levels rather than USD. The USD value you see on Coinmarketcap is just for convenience rather than utility. I cannot give you the equivalent USD level, as some requested in my last video, as any given Satohsi level for a cryptocurrency will vary widely depending on price of Bitcoin. I provide more specific examples in the video, including a failed trade of mine that (to this point) has destroyed over 50% of value! I hope you enjoy and as usual, I look forward to your thoughts in the comments. ================ If you like my content, you can support me through using ANY of the affiliate links below (I receive small compensation). The beauty of affiliate links is that I can pick and choose what I like rather than have companies approach me - everything I linked below (with the exception of Trezor since I like Ledger), I use myself frequently. ================ My Recommended Hardware Wallets: If you want to store your cryptocurrencies safely, the best way is through a hardware wallet. Seriously - look it up and you'll find plenty of information supporting this claim. There are alternatives such as paper wallets, but these are convenient and my choice for cold storage (offline): Ledger Nano S: http://amzn.to/2hZPj0q Trezor: http://amzn.to/2AxD9TN Ledger Blue (expensive): http://amzn.to/2hk7xst I personally prefer the Ledger Nano S, but the Trezor is such a close second that it really doesn't matter which one you go with. Ledger Blue is premium and convenient, but not necessary. ================ My Favorite Book for Investing in Crypto: Cryptoassets: http://amzn.to/2zKDdCF This book is, bar none, my favorite book for investing in cryptocurrencies. It doesn't bog you down with technical jargon, but instead focuses on all the elements you should understand before you invest. It's a comprehensive book for both beginners and experts. Beginners will find information about major cryptocurrencies (not just Bitcoin) as well as details on historical market events (that you can draw on for future) and events to watch for moving into the future. Experts will find the chapters on valuation particularly useful. For those of you involved in traditional investing, this book is even more of a godsend as finance info is explored (correlations with other asset classes, ETFs, etc). ================ My Recommended Exchanges: Coinbase / GDAX / Bittrex https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a08b12e305a1401d79d10e0 If you sign up to Coinbase using link above, you and I will both receive $10 each after you buy your first $100 of Bitcoin using Coinbase. Coinbase is much less intimidating for beginners. Once ready, move up to GDAX for cheaper or zero fees. For altcoins, I recommend Bittrex. ================ Legal Stuff: I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. None of what I provide in my videos is investment advice. Please do your own due diligence. ================ My Platforms: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Truth_Investor SteemIt: https://steemit.com/@cryptovestor Medium: https://medium.com/@Truth_Investor Seeking Alpha: https://seekingalpha.com/author/truth-investor/articles

8 Cryptocurrency Exchanges for Buying and Selling Fiat like USD to Bitcoin and Ethereum

35:51
What are the top 8 cryptocurrency exchanges for buying and selling fiat currencies like USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, KRW, JPY, RUB, and CNH into Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and hundreds more altcoins with Bittrex and Poloniex? Will you watch this video or read this description to find out? My favorite exchange is Coinbase which I have used to buy and sell hundreds of thousands of US Dollars in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. If you would like to sign up for Coinbase, would you use my link at https://www.coinbase.com/join/53f220834b1a7fd652000013 because Coinbase will give you and me $10 each in Bitcoin for the referral? Bitstamp at https://www.bitstamp.net might be the best global option if you can make a deposit with SEPA in the EU or a wire transfer in nearly any other country because Bitstamp's help at https://www.bitstamp.net/account/deposit/ states "REST OF THE WORLD. International bank transfer deposits carry 0.05% deposit fee on our side (minimum fee = 7.50 USD/EUR) and take 2 - 5 business days to credit. USD deposits credited to your USD balance won't be converted. All other currencies will be converted to the selected balance currency, free of charge." Ripple as XRP and Bitcoin as BTC are both available to trade with fiat currencies on Bitstamp. Credit cards can also be used to make purchases on Bitstamp with fees ranging from 5% to 8% as listed at https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/. Kraken at https://www.kraken.com has the greatest current selection I have found for an exchange which accepts incoming fiat deposits while trading with the most altcoins. Kraken accepts EUR SEPA deposits, USD, GBP, EUR, and JPY wire deposits as well as witdrawals. For Canadian dollars, wire deposits are free and EFT withdrawals are $10 with a $25,000 daily max. In addition to Bitcoin, Kraken allows USD with EUR and a few CAD or JPY directly to Ethereum, Ripple, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin, Dash, Monero, Zcash, USDT, Gnosis, and Stellar Lumens with Iconomi available from ETH and XBT which is Bitcoin. GDAX operates in the US, Europe, UK, Canada, Australia, and Singapore at https://www.gdax.com/ trading in BTC/USD, ETH/USD, ETH/BTC, LTC/USD, LTC/BTC, BTC/EUR, and BTC/GBP. Gemini at https://gemini.com is available in Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, and the United States of America in 44 states with BTC/USD, ETH/BTC, and ETH/USD available for all via US Dollar wire transfers. xBTCe at https://www.xbtce.com accepts wire transfers from many countries including the USA, China, and Russia with native language support in English, Russian, and Chinese. Wall of Coins at https://wallofcoins.com/en/ is available in the USA, Canada, and more countries soon for direct cash deposits via local bank accounts in Bitcoin and Dash. Local Bitcoins at https://localbitcoins.com/ allows buyers and sellers in 248 countries to make cash and online transactions directly for Bitcoin with generally 10% or higher above marketplace costs. In summary, I think Coinbase, Bitstamp, and Kraken are three of the best places online to use USD, EUR, CAD, and GBP to buy directly into Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Dash, and more altcoins. GDAX, Gemini, and xBTCe are great alternatives especially for KRW, JPY, RUB, and CNH. Wall of Coins and Local Bitcoins are effective for changing cash to Bitcoin to then use on an exchange like Bittrex or Poloniex. Why Bitcoin Can't Replace the US Dollar (Fiat)

10:13
Can Bitcoin / cryptocurrencies replace the US dollar / US government and fiat currencies? Can Bitcoin be the revolution that takes down the fraud that is central / commercial banks worldwide? Have they finally gone too far with zero interest rate policies and quantitative easing? Probably, but believe it or not, that is besides the point. Bitcoin is not capable of implementing even some of the most basic functions of monetary policy. For one, Bitcoin isn't even inflationary (well, it won't be in the long-term), which would be unhealthy for the economies it supports (especially for those driven by consumption). In addition, credit in a Bitcoin based economy would be rather difficult. Monetary policy helps alleviate both credit crunches and overheated economies through influencing interest rates. While such actions have been controversial, they have worked well for us (literally US) over time and has helped create some of the wealthiest nations in the world by bolstering GDP by encouraging spending when it is slow and decreasing probability of the economy overheating. Bitcoin would have to lose its function as a store of value to become a true currency that encouraged spending, in which case it would no longer really be an investment anyway. Instead, Bitcoin should operate as an alternative to traditional payment channels and fiat currencies for remittances and general business transactions for those who "opt-in." There is plenty of market share here and it is realistic. Disagree with me? Feel free to share in the comments! Also let me know your thoughts on the idea of more controversial videos like this one. I love debate, so I think I'll be making them regardless. Thanks for watching! The Truth about Bitcoin and Alternative Currencies

05:01
Bitcoin has been making headlines for months. With the price fluctuating wildly, is it really a currency, or just a scam? To find out, we have to analyze its properties. Gold and silver give us good examples of which properties make a sound currency, and bitcoins seem to measure up well. Will they ultimately outcompete the US dollar, gold, or silver? We can't know, but with the Federal Reserve devaluing the dollar every day, it is only a matter of time before people start looking for an alternative currency. Meet Miss Bitcoin - Internet celebrity invests everything in cryptocurrency

02:37
Mai Fujimoto, a Japanese aspiring entrepreneur and internet celebrity known as 'Miss Bitcoin' explained why she converted all her savings into cryptocurrencies during an interview in Tokyo on Monday. "I believe in cryptocurrency because when I started learning about the essence of money, I came to realise it is more credible for me than the legal currency," said Fujimoto. However, for a 32-year-old the virtual currency is more than just a passion. In 2016, Fujimoto found a Bitcoin donation platform called 'Kizuna' that allows users to donate in Bitcoin to charitable causes. "Nearly 50 percent of [Bitcoin] business is made in Japan now, that, in some way led many to consider Bitcoin as an alternative currency," she said foreseeing a coming transition to the cryptocurrency in a similar fashion as "we switched from carriages to cars, from letters to e-mails." SOT, Mai Fujimoto, Founder of Kizuna (Japanese): "Around this time a year ago, I withdrew all my money from the savings account and converted it into crypto-currencies instead, like Bitcoin. This is because I believe in Bitcoin more than in legal currency." SOT, Mai Fujimoto, Founder of Kizuna (Japanese): "Bitcoin attracts attention as an alternative currency. But I believe in crypto-currency because when I started learning about the essence of money, I came to realise it is more credible for me than the legal currency." SOT, Mai Fujimoto, Founder of Kizuna (Japanese): "Nearly 50 percent of [Bitcoin] business is made in Japan now, that in some way led many to consider Bitcoin as an alternative currency. However, a year from now, I believe people will realise the essence of money and, in a similar way, as we switched from carriages to cars, from letters to e-mails, we will be converting regular money into Bitcoin in the quite near future." SOT, Satoshi Yamada, CEO deBit Inc. (Japanese): "Now in Japan, the major financial institutions and the major retail stores are increasing the use of Bitcoin step by step. Besides, the government and the administration offices are beginning to notice the potential of cryptocurrencies, so I think people will make good use of it and the business opportunity will be increasing steadily." How to Invest in Cryptocurrency | a Financial Perspective on Bitcoin with Brian Kelly

57:35
Subscribe to Hidden Forces Here: https://www.hiddenforces.io In Episode 34 of Hidden Forces, host Demetri Kofinas speaks with Brian Kelly. Brian is CEO and Founder of BKCM LLC, a digital asset investment firm. He is an experienced Global Macro investor and the portfolio manager of the BKCM Digital Asset Fund – a hedge fund focused on digital currencies and assets. Brian Kelly has over twenty-five years’ experience in financial markets and is the author of the book “The Bitcoin Big Bang – How Alternative Currencies are About to Change the World.” He is a CNBC contributor and can be seen regularly on Fast Money. Our most recent episodes with Chris Burniske on modeling cryptoassets and with Ari Paul on cryptocurrency trading methodologies introduced two foundational frameworks to our audience. This week’s episode with Brian Kelly affords our audience the opportunity to explore both of these perspectives (theory and execution) in a single conversation. Brian Kelly is uniquely qualified to talk about the financial side of cryptocurrencies, but he also provides valuable perspective on how the media is covering this space. Brian begins his conversation with Demetri by recounting his introductory experience to bitcoin, how he made his first investments, and what he learned in the year he wrote his book “The Bitcoin Big Bang.” The two explore familiar topics like the problem of scalability, exchange and regulatory risk, cash-settled futures and ETF’s, and how bitcoin may fare compared to gold during a systemic financial crisis. Is there any way to measure the intrinsic value of a given cryptocurrency? Can permissioned blockchains compete with public ledgers, or will cryptocurrencies come to dominate the future of software? Besides bitcoin and Ethereum, what are some of the more interesting cryptocurrency investment opportunities out there? Brian and Demetri also cover the recent spike in financial volatility amid this rising interest rate environment. Lastly, they consider how the rise of systemic trading strategies and passive investment vehicles like ETFs may accelerate (or not) a future market downturn. Bitcoin As The New Standard Global Currency Bitcoin As The New Internet Money

07:41
Buy Bitcoin: https://www.coinbase.com/join/598709b2e5d73300faa31450 Free Bitcoin Investment Kit: https://regalwallet.com/?id=7787 Trade Bitcoin Options: http://successempires.com Advocates of fiat currencies argue that the Fed’s ability to print trillions of dollars (“Quantitative Easing”) in response to the financial crisis was the only thing that prevented an even greater economic catastrophe on the scale of the Great Depression (or worse). On the other hand, advocates of a commodity standard (like the gold standard) would argue that the Fed’s Quantitative Easing is dangerous as it will cause a surge in the money supply and will eventually lead to very high rates of inflation. Only by backing the currency with a scarce commodity like gold, they say, will policymakers be prevented from taking action that will devalue the currency. We suspect there is some truth in both. In Bitcoin, we now seem to have a new form of currency that rivals fiat money as we move full speed into the age of technology. Unlike its predecessor currencies, it is not backed by a physical commodity (gold) or any government or bank. It transcends borders and allows for complete anonymity. Transactions are cheap to execute and it is quickly and easily transferred around the world. Bitcoins do not depreciate as a result of government budget deficits, and banks can’t use your Bitcoins to make risky investments. Who needs a Swiss bank account? Or any bank account? What’s not to like? For starters, the value of Bitcoins has been extremely volatile. At $2,288, the value has increased exponentially in recent years - and it could go back down just as easily. Due to its anonymity, some people have been using Bitcoin to execute illegal transactions. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg believes that the surge in Bitcoin has been driven by the illegal narcotics trade. The recent “Wannacry” computer attack demanded ransom payment in Bitcoin. While I don’t have a firm opinion on Bitcoin as an alternative currency, I do have more conviction on Bitcoin as an investment: it is not an investment. It is speculation. But, that doesn’t mean it won’t continue to gain in popularity and broader use. Japan has legalized crypto-currencies. Other countries will likely follow. Beyond the many illegal uses for an anonymous currency, there are other risks: hacking, no way to insure holdings (think FDIC), viruses, accidental deletion of accounts, and usual, other cyber-vulnerabilities. As investors, we look to threats to the companies we hold or may consider as well as opportunities to invest in companies that may benefit. Earlier we mentioned the credit card companies and PayPal. PayPal emerged as a way to pay for online purchases by authorizing online transfers of money without having to disclose credit information online. It is now a stand-alone, publicly traded company with a market capitalization of almost $63 billion. Paypal links user accounts to their bank accounts or credit cards and doesn’t undermine or erode banking or credit card businesses. Perhaps the banks will find ways to embrace cyber-currencies by linking those balances to credit cards or other borrowing and lending activities. Time will tell. The internet has forever changed the world, and it continues to change and transform our lives. Cell phones have many times the computing speed and capacity provided by the enormous computers with reel-to-reel tapes of the 1960s. Bitcoin may prove to be the new monetary paradigm, but the bet is large and the risk enormous. If you want to gamble, go to a casino where they will at least give you a free drink! We will continue to monitor this new currency and the possible effects on our portfolio. how to make money with bitcoin 2018, ways to earn bitcoins, how much money can i make bitcoin mining, how to generate bitcoins for free, make money trading bitcoins, how to make money with bitcoin 2018, make money with bitcoin faucet, how to make money with bitcoin mining,

Bitcoin Stocks that Beat Crypto without the Bubble

04:35
Bitcoin investing is just as hot in 2018 as it was last year but is still a huge risk. These two bitcoin stocks are better investments and won't destroy your portfolio when the bubble bursts. I'm talking about companies that benefit from Bitcoin and the blockchain technology but without all the bitcoin risks. These companies have solid business models that are riding Bitcoin higher. They'll provide excellent returns that beat the stock market as Bitcoin alternatives but won't leave you broke if the price of cryptocurrencies plunges. Instead of asking how to invest in bitcoin, ask yourself if you should invest in bitcoin and if there is a better investment. These bitcoin stocks are great long-term investments that will help you beat your long-term investing goals. I also cover one Bitcoin alternative investment that you should avoid. This stock is basically all the risk in bitcoin plus an extra fee. Bitcoin Revolution: Investors Seek Alternative Currency Despite Cyber Attacks

02:26
Bitcoin Revolution: Investors Seek Alternative Currency Despite Cyber Attacks A denial-of-service attack, in which a website is flooded with massive requests for data, obstructed Bitstamp's ability to check account balances, the exchange said in a statement. Customers can withdraw cash but not Bitcoins, as the company works to fix services, Nejc Kodric, Bitstamp's chief executive officer, wrote in an e-mail. The value of Bitcoin, which can be used to buy everything from Tesla Motors Inc. cars to Gummi bears, was down 1.2 percent at $661.17 at 1:15 p.m. in New York today, according to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index, which averages exchange prices. Mt.Gox, another major online exchange, restored cash withdrawals on Feb. 10 after suspending services last week because of a technical flaw in how service providers reconcile Bitcoin transactions. "This is a nuisance attack," said Andreas Antonopoulos, chief security officer for Blockchain.info, a provider of online wallets for a digital currencies. "Funds have not been lost, and have not been affected. What it's done is slow down their accounting system from reconciling transactions." "Even the designer of the system and other developers were unaware of how the system could be changed," Garzik said in an interview. "All of the wallets will need some level of updates. Precious metals dealers may avoid accepting bitcoin in payment for gold, thanks to regulatory uncertainty, according to industry insiders That's despite a warm welcome from some gold retailers who will happily trade one of the world's oldest and most recognizable currencies for a volatile upstart on the global financial stage. Not wanting the legal hassle of operating a crypto-currency exchange, They presided over Mt. Gox as it went on to dominate Bitcoin trading for more than a year by volume. However, over the past six months, the platform has seen a fall from grace as users have had trouble withdrawing their funds. New troubles emerged in the last couple days again, as Mt. Gox said it was halting withdrawals. The company said it was having problems finalizing transactions because of a perceived flaw in the Bitcoin protocol around "transaction malleability." Other exchanges also halted withdrawals as the Bitcoin Foundation said it was working on a solution to the problem. Bitcoin wallets across the globe came under assault today, resulting in another mini-flash price crash one day after a statement from the MtGox exchange caused prices to fall 20%. "Bitcoin is still secure, the network is still working," he said in an IM, adding that his financial interest in Bitcoin is both literally and figuratively negligible. Don't panic, everything still works." collapse crash bubble ponzi scheme Russian authorities have issued warnings against using Bitcoin, saying the virtual currency could be used for money laundering or financing terrorism and that treating it as a parallel currency is illegal. "Systems for anonymous payments and cyber currencies that have gained considerable circulation -- including the most well-known, Bitcoin -- are money substitutes and cannot be used by individuals or legal entities," the Russian Prosecutor General's Office said on February6. Reddit, Virgin Galactic, and Overstock.com now accept Bitcoin. So do dating site OKCupid and travel site CheapAir.com. Game giant Zynga is now in the testing phase. Two big Las Vegas hotels accept Bitcoin. Now that Bitcoin exchange Mt.Gox has terminally discredited itself following the latest, and likely last, withdrawal [4]halt announced late last week which sent the value of Bitcoin tumbling by 25%, Bitcoin traders are left with just two exchange options on which to transact: BTC-e and Bitstamp. And for those using the former to buy and sell the virtual digital currency, things went from bad to worse a few short hours ago, when Bitcoin had its very own "Waddell and Reed" moment, when the price of Bitcoin cratered by over 80% in the span of seconds, after a modest block of just under 6000 Bitcoins sent the price plunging from over $600 to $102.

Top 5 Cryptocurrencies to Invest in 2018 || Bitcoin Ke Baad Other Famous Cryptocurrency

05:03
Top 5 Cryptocurrencies Other Than Bitcoin to Invest in 2018 Bitcoin may grab most of the headlines, but it's far from the only cryptocurrency or cryptoasset. These others may even be more useful in the long run. Thus, in this educational piece, we will go over the top 5 cryptocurrency picks for 2018. We will base our judgment on the coins’ performance during the year and the future plans of the teams behind the projects. 1- Ripple : Ripple (XRP) currently Trading at $0.196520 and is equal to 0.00004644 BTC. Ripple may be the latest craze in the cryptocurrency world. Although its price still lags far behind Ethereum and Bitcoin, it has nonetheless gained 3800% in recent months, catapulting it to the number 3 spot on the list of over 100 cryptocurrencies with regard to market capitalization. What's more important, perhaps, is the technology that Ripple offers aside from its currency. The Ripple blockchain protocol has gained recognition by more than 60 major financial institutions around the world, with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi one of the latest to incorporate it into its practices. Ripple has, in this way, broken a barrier that virtually no other cryptocurrency has, by finding a way to integrate itself within the broader financial world. To some, this spells a new way for the future of the digital currency industry. To others, though, Ripple has some significant security weaknesses. 2- Ethereum (ETH) Ethereum, the second biggest cryptocurrency in the world in terms of the market capitalization, now is changing hands at $464.68, while its market capitalization accounts for $44,678,905,662. 3- Litecoin (LTC) Litecoin appears to be one of the best alternatives to Bitcoin. It was created to manage some of the flaws in the original Bitcoin protocol. In fact, Litecoin is one of the very first altcoins in existence after Bitcoin. As of now, one Litecoin trades at $103.43, and its market cap figure is at $5,599,290,398. Litecoin, launched in the year 2011, was among the initial cryptocurrencies following bitcoin and was often referred to as ‘silver to Bitcoin’s gold.’ It was created by Charlie Lee, a MIT graduate and former Google engineer. Litecoin is based on an open source global payment network that is not controlled by any central authority and uses "scrypt" as a proof of work, which can be decoded with the help of CPUs of consumer grade. Although Litecoin is like Bitcoin in many ways, it has a faster block generation rate and hence offers a faster transaction confirmation. Other than developers, there are a growing number of merchants who accept Litecoin. 4- Dash : Dash has certainly some clear benefits: Low transaction fees During 2017 the average transaction fee of a Bitcoin has been sometimes around $5 while the average transaction fee of Dash has been less mostly less than $0,3. Fast transactions People complained that transactions with Bitcoins take too much time. Sometimes they needed to wait even for an hour. Then they started using Dash and the transaction took only a few minutes. Many companies have adapted Dash You can see on their website a long list of companies that already accept Dash as a payment. That’s one reason why the value has grown (and may grow in the future as well). Dash coin is a much more investment than many other cryptocurrencies and it really has potential. 5- NEM: NEM is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and blockchain platform launched on March 31, 2015.[1] Written in Java,[2] with a C++ version in the works,[3] NEM has a stated goal of a wide distribution model and has introduced new features to blockchain technology such as its proof-of-importance (POI) algorithm, multisignature accounts, encrypted messaging, and an Eigentrust++ reputation system. The NEM blockchain software is used in a commercial blockchain called Mijin,[4] which is being tested by financial institutions and private companies in Japan and internationally. Why I Just Bought a Ton of Salt

11:17
Salt is a lending platform & cryptocurrency token designed to connect borrowers and lenders for collateral-backed (Bitcoin) loans. The collateral is cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Right now, there is no platform and hence there is zero use case for the Salt tokens. However, Salt is intending on launching their platform this month and if it is successful, I anticipate Salt tokens will appreciate in value hence I am taking a chance. The risk is very high - we don't know for certain that they have the lending network required to make this work or that they actually have a platform to connect these lenders with borrowers. In addition, regulatory risks are much higher as lending has some of the tightest regulations of any industry. However, I find the team to be professional and view it as a real practical use-case that will be used immediately IF the platform is operational. The Salt tokens essentially act as membership on the website and allow one to take out these collateral-backed loans. They can also be used to reduce the interest rate of the loan or to integrate API in event that an exchange wants to introduce leverage onto its platform without having users interface with Salt. The team holds a substantial amount of Salt, which is a fair criticism, although it appears the funds are being put to good use. If the project is legitimate, I suspect this will lead to a huge influx of capital into cryptocurrencies as people leverage their existing Bitcoin positions to purchase more Bitcoin (which I DON'T recommend doing, but suspect many will anyway). If this is the case, it will inflate the bubble much faster than before and it will be an interesting development to watch through December. If it isn't legitimate, then I'm willing to lose my entire stake. There are also circumstances where it is legitimate, but the lending terms are not attractive so the platform never takes off. I'm interested in your opinion as always. Make sure you read the disclaimer lower in this description. Thank you for watching. Bitcoin, FOMO, and Right Livelihood

Read the article here: https://medium.com/@georgekao/why-im-not-investing-in-cryptocurrency-right-now-9db96123182 Chances are, you have heard about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency craze. This post is for those of us who are curious — and maybe feeling some FOMO (fear of missing out) — if we don’t jump on this shiny new object bandwagon. I haven’t invested a single penny in any cryptocurrency, and don’t plan to. Here are my reasons. Yours may be different, but I hope this post will ease some of your fear / regret for not having jumped into this current mania. Reason 1. Cryptocurrencies aren’t a viable means of exchange… and may never be. A cryptocurrency is digital money such as bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin. There are many such “alt-coins”. Bitcoin, the most popular of them, cannot even be used to pay your mortgage. And try going to your local grocery store to pickup some broccoli with bitcoin. It’s not something most of us can use. It’s not a widespread “means of exchange” yet. In other words, it’s not really a currency. Neither is it an alternative local currency (which many shops would accept in a local area, which can be good for the local economy and sense of community.) Even a bitcoin enthusiast from Japan (where it’s far more widespread than here) can only support 10% of her lifestyle using bitcoin. The other 90% she still has to use regular, Japanese currency. I encourage you to watch this short video where the real-life “wolf of wall street” talks about bitcoin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsaU4-AUW2Y Here’s the key — these cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, might never become a widespread means of exchange. The way that it’s looking right now, it is probably a bubble that will burst, and hurt a whole lot of people. Reason 2. I don’t want to be part of the problem — I don’t want to contribute to a bubble mentality. An economic bubble is where there’s a lot of hype about a particular type of “investment”. One of the earliest known investment hypes was the tulip mania. Humanity has experienced many asset bubbles and we still haven’t learned, because it’s part of human psychology to get swept up into hype. People artificially value them highly for a period, so that lots of people buy, thinking they’ll get rich by selling it in a short while. When the mania starts to settle down (as all human emotions eventually do), some people start to “wake up” and then sell, which cascades into more people trying to sell, and the price dramatically drops, which financially devastates the majority of the people who are still holding the “investment”, who had put a lot of their savings into it. I don’t want to give my consciousness and hopes to the hype and mania, nor model that behavior for others. “This lower overall level of regulatory oversight can make cryptocurrencies an attractive target for market manipulators. The significant number of small, relatively less-experienced investors in cryptoassets is also attractive to those looking to hoodwink investors…. For example, approximately 30 firms publish ongoing research on Facebook’s stock alone. Nothing like that level of coverage exists for any cryptoassets, even though cryptoassets have a total market cap equal to roughly half the size of Facebook’s.” — from: https://medium.com/@thomas_mac/e6178da07303 The current cryptocurrency craze is not “investment.” It is speculation and gambling. Speculation: the act of trading in an asset or conducting a financial transaction that has a significant risk of losing most or all of the initial outlay with the expectation of a substantial gain. — from Investopedia If you want to invest money, the best long-term investment is: (1) courses and coaching to improve your skills in your field, the ones that are most meaningful to your community. (2) building your ideal audience, with Facebook Ads and other advertisements directed towards having your best content & offerings visible to your ideal audience. (3) hiring coaches and freelancers to help make your content and offerings higher quality. These are where I’d recommend investing your money, besides having your retirement savings invested in index funds which are long-term, reliable, and yield decent returns. How do you value Bitcoin or Ether? What are the fundamentals to look for? Cryptocurrencies are an entirely new asset class and require news ways to think about valuation. In this episode of INVESTING 101 I share my best theories/ideas on how to think about cryptocurrency / digital asset valuation. My best metric so far is the PT Ratio, (or Price Per Annual Transactions Ratio) which divides the network value of a digital asset by its annualized transactions. Max Keiser On The FUTURE Of Bitcoin & The FALL Of The Banking System

12:36
Josh Sigurdson talks with Max Keiser of The Keiser Report on RT about the future of Bitcoin and blockchain technology as we see several attempts to create an ETF on Bitcoin. Max gives us his thoughts on it and surprisingly he's not overly concerned by the notion though points out the potential for us to see what happened in the gold markets with ETFs. Max also goes into where he thinks Bitcoin is going in the near future as so many analysts make absurd claims with no evidence to back them up other than speculation of course. Max also talks about the difference between decentralized cryptocurrency and a centrally planned cashless society like we see popping up in China and India. Finally, Max tells us what his favorite cryptocurrency outside of Bitcoin and Maxcoin is. It may or may not involve a market innovation allowing Venezuelans to feed themselves. Who wouldn't be in support of that? We're always happy to talk with Max. Stay tuned for more from WAM! Gold & Silver VS. Bitcoin! - Why Not BOTH?

18:44
Josh Sigurdson talks with author and economics analyst John Sneisen about the recent growth of Bitcoin vs. gold and silver as the Google searches for "Buy Bitcoin" surpass searches for "Buy Gold." Gold and silver are great stores of wealth. It's an insurance rather than an investment. However, since 2012 gold and silver have been incredibly manipulated by ETFs and derivatives. This has drastically affected the value. Gold and silver by all fundamentals should be much more valuable than they currently are. Physical sales are way up but due to all the ETF inflows, the price has been held down like a beach ball under water, with momentum to bounce up if not for the hand holding them down. Banks like Deutsche Bank have been caught red-handed in court manipulating the price of gold and silver. Other banks in the same cases have been caught as well, like HSBC, Scotia Bank, BNP Paribas among many others. This has been incredibly detrimental to the value. However gold and silver have survived millenias. The second the banking system goes down, gold and silver will fly far above their current value. Gold and silver are based in scarcity, demand and application. Now, many gold and silver bugs have shown a massive distaste for Bitcoin and vice versa. However, Bitcoin is based as well in scarcity, demand and application. It is decentralized and misunderstood by so many as "fiat" when fiat by definition is legal tender currency that's centrally planned (into oblivion). The fact is, both are great. Bitcoin has made far greater leaps in recent times and has shown itself to be a massive threat to the central banking system as the world reserve fiat currency is devaluing enormously and ready to crash at any time. But after the crash, both Bitcoin, gold and silver will show themselves to be a great solution for the crashing fiat system. In this video, we dig deep into the qualities of both. Investing in cryptocurrency 2018 for Newbies

Investing in cryptocurrency 2018 for Newbies My original video ►DTUBE: https://d.tube/#!/v/cosmophobia/iwjozvsm This year the crypto currencies have reached all-time low throwing investors into a panic frenzy. As a result the currencies has drop to 57% since the start of 2018. According to Coinmarketcap “the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies reached a low of $261.6 billion”. This is a huge loss for investors and as pointed out by cryptocurrency fund manager Adrian Lai “Last year’s crypto market was somewhat “irrational” due to a lack of regulatory mechanism and institutional investment. Adrian Lai “Regulators are not banning the development of cryptocurrencies, but are trying to better regulate the market, which should help the industry mature” Link: South China Morning Post http://www.scmp.com/business/article/2140811/mature-cryptocurrency-market-draw-more-institutional-traders-year-analyst On another front the US Securities and Exchange Commission Jay Clayton pointed out that “that the crackdown by new regulatory bodies aims at cleaning out fraud in the industry to protect retail investors” I believe that Jay Clayton is on the right track as all forms of criminal activities needs to be investigated and remove from this market. In my research the future for cryptocurrencies investment remains very positive since Finance Minister of South Korea will be supporting crypto currencies trading. I am also reminded that in 2017 the Japanese accepted Bitcoin as the legal tender. Further analyst conducted by Vicky Redwood who is a Global economist for the Capital Economics. Predicted that the market price of Bitcoin would fall further. Vicky Redwood made it clear “it is simply not a credible long-run alternative to conventional currencies.” Link: https://www.capitaleconomics.com/ So what’s my stand in regards to Cryptocurrencies investments? My research indicates that there are very positive signs for the Steem$ and that this is the right time to invest, and to Power Up your steem account. Bitcoin: An Alternative Investment

59:41
http://www.angelnetwork.com This interview is compliments of Angel Investors Network. According to Bitcoin news site CoinDesk, 2014 venture capital has flooded the bitcoin ecosystem reaching over $110 Million. Marc Andreessen, a well-known entrepreneur, and investor, is betting big on the future of bitcoin with investments totaling upwards of $50 million. The Wall Street Journal’s Gregory Zuckerman reports that Andreessen has no plan on slowing down, claiming that he will invest “hundreds of millions” more in bitcoin-related businesses. “You know, magic markets don’t appear all the time, so you take advantage of them.”- Marc Andreessen The beauty of this revolutionary “magic market” is that there are ample opportunities for high net worth individuals to get their “piece of the pie”. Wallet providers and exchanges, such as Coinbase, charge a premium on the bitcoins sold through their website. Someone interested in investing millions should realize the accessibility of the vast market in front of them. There is not only money to be made through capital gains, but also in creating, stabilizing, and maintaining the bitcoin network. Investors have an alternative to purchasing bitcoins through exchanges; they can create their own through a process known as “mining”. Cloud mining contracts have arisen recently as a new form of an alternative investment. Investors can purchase a specific amount of hash power for a pre-determined amount of time. Furthermore, there are no additional costs associated with mining; such as electricity and maintenance. The customer pays an upfront amount and in turn receives bitcoin payouts for the length of the contract. There is No need to worry about the increasing difficulty of the network because once the contract period is over, you can renew with an increased amount of hash power to maintain your anticipated profit margin. The opportunity to mine bitcoin will only be available for the next few years. A predetermined amount is set within the network at 21 million bitcoins. Once all have been mined, the network protocol will switch its incentive method to transaction fees only. The technology was designed to be inflation-free so inevitably the demand for a single bitcoin will go up, in turn driving up the price. http://www.gregwriter.com Greg Writer is an executive with over 31 years experience in corporate finance, capital formation, executive level management, mergers, acquisitions, software development and sales/marketing. The prospects for the alternative cyber-currency known as Bitcoin have brightened, with some serious financial players preparing to open it to investment. The Winklevoss twins, best known for suing Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerburg over claims he stole their social network idea, are planning to float a Bitcoin trust. But even though the multi-millioniares are now going along with Bitcoin, the rebel currency still has a strong grasp over those drawn to its anti-establishment charm - as RT's Marina Portnaya reports. Money! When governments undermine faith in their currencies people turn to alternatives. Weak as the dollar has been in recent years, for example, it is still seen in many parts of the world as infinitely preferable to the local money, which is why most of our physical currency- especially our hundred dollar bills-- circulate outside the US. So it is no surprise that as the Fed readies another round of money printing, more and more Americans want to experiment with alternative currencies. Hence the intense interest in the digital phenomenon called the Bitcoin. Online trading has mushroomed. Alas, the Bitcoin is not the answer to the Federal Reserve's depredations against the dollar. The basic reason: it has no fixed value. It trades like a stock or commodity. In recent days it has been crashing after a spectacular rise in terms of dollars. Such volatility makes it useless as a means to do transactions. Money has only one purpose--it makes doing transactions, that is buying and selling products and services and securities, infinitely easier than barter. All the other purposes of money flow from this basic function. Money is most optimal when it is fixed in value just as commerce is facilitated when we have fixed weights and measures. When you buy a pound of hamburger you expect to get 16 ounces of meat. An hour has 60 minutes. A mile has 5280 feet. These measurements don't "float." So too money best lubricates commerce when it has a fixed value. This is best seen in investing. When you make a capital expenditure or a buy an equity, you are obviously taking a risk. With stocks, you are buying future streams of income. Same with that new factory. But the risk is increased exponentially if you don't know what you will be paid back with. Is it a 100 cent dollar, a 20 cent, or a 115 cent dollar? Such uncertainty hurts growth. When a government devalues its currency, money goes defensively into hard assets. Investing for the future suffers--and so does our future standard of living. We don't really know how this coin is created. You can't have a functional money without a basic transparency. Unless you are addicted to volatile trading for the sake of trading, stay away from the Bitcoin. Thankfully its plunge will be a salutary caution to most folks The process flow about mining bitcoin digital currency USD international investing market, more information about financial news browse and subscribe channal at http://youtube.com/user/cosmeticmachines
