Underground Mine Freeport Indonesia

00:11
We have a guest writer today! Preparation of mines can be understood and defined as the set of activities of tunnels development and construction of mining, mechanic, electric, instrumentation, engineering and assembly infrastructure - of different level or sectors - that will be used to incorporate an area which allows the continuity of the exploitation. Since 2003, we have identified significant construction logistic issues entailed in underground expansion project. The common infrastructure batch plant (CIP Batch plant) was built during that period to provide continues concrete and shotcrete supply to develop an average of 50 Kilometer tunnels at 3 underground mining complex that will become Freeport Indonesia's flagship operation as the transition from open pit to underground mining take place. The batch plant is run 24/7 with a good collaboration between Freeport and high dedicated contractors. The Top 10 Biggest Gold Mine In The World's 10. Kalgoorlie Super Pit Production: 640,000 ounces Rounding out the list of largest gold mines in the world is the Kalgoorlie Super Pit, which is 50 percent owned by Barrick and is also located in Australia. Kalgoorie’s production dropped slightly from 2014’s 652,000 ounces produced by 1.84 percent. 9. Olimpiada Production: 760,100 ounces Located in Russia, Olimpiada is an open-pit operation owned by United Kingdom-based Polyus Gold (LSE:POLG). Olimpiada began production in 1966, and is the company’s largest gold operation. It holds proven and probable gold reserves of 30.01 million ounces. While production jumped from 735,700 ounces in 2015 to 760,100 in 2015, the mine dropped from seventh place to ninth in the list. 8. Boddington Production: 794,000 ounces Production at Boddington jumped in 2015 by 14.08 percent from 696,000 ounces to 794,000 ounces of gold produced. Boddington gold-copper mine is one of the largest gold mines in Australia. It is owned by Newmont Mining, which bought out AngloGold Ashanti’s (NYSE:AU) share of the project in 2009. Boddington began commercial production in 2009. 7. Lihir Production 805,000 ounces Lihir is another gold mine owned by Newcrest. This particular gold mine wasn’t on the 2014 top 10 list. Since 1997, Lihir has produced over nine million ounces of gold. 6. Carlin production: 886,000 ounces Carlin is part of a much larger Nevada gold operation owned by Newmont Mining. However, the company now reports production from Carlin individually. Last year’s production dropped by 2.32 percent from 907,000 ounces in 2014 to 886,000 in 2015. 5. Yanacocha Production: 918,000 ounces Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine located in Cajamarca, approximately 800 kilometers northeast of Lima, Peru. Since 1993, it has invested more than $1 billion in environmental and social responsibility projects. Yanacocha is jointly owned by Newmont Mining (TSX:NMC) (51 percent) Beunaventura (44 percent) and International Finance (5 percent). 4. Pueblo Viejo Production: 953,000 ounces One of the newer large gold mines in the world, Pueblo Viejo is owned in a 60/40 joint venture between Barrick Gold and Goldcorp (TSX:G). The mine is located in the Dominican Republic. The mine’s production dropped 13.99 percent in 2015 from 2014 where they produced 1.108 million ounces Pueblo Viejo was commissioned in 2012 and completed its production ramp up in 2014. Barrick’s share of gold production for 2016 is estimated to be between 600,000-650,000 ounces, while Goldcorp’s forecast is between 400,000-440,000 ounces. 3. Cortez Production: 999,000 ounces Another large mine owned by Barrick and located in Nevada, Cortez just about ties with Goldstrike in terms of production. Cortez’s production of 999,000 ounces in 2015 is a 10.75 percent increase from its 2014 production of 902,000 ounces. In 2016, Cortez’s gold production is expected to fall in line between 980,000-1,500,000 ounces and expects its all-in sustaining costs to range between $520 and $550 per ounce. As of December 31, 2015, proven and probable mineral reserves were 11.1 million ounces of gold. 2. Goldstrike Production: 1.05 million ounces One of Barrick’s biggest gold mines, Goldstrike, is located within Nevada’s prolific Carlin trend. The property consists of the Betze-Post open-pit mine and the Meikle and Rodeo underground mines. Goldstrike’s proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2015 were 8.5 million ounces of gold. Its production outlook for 2016 is expected to be somewhere between 975,000-1,075,00 ounces of gold at sustaining costs of $780-$850 per ounce. 1. Grasberg Production: 1.23 million ounces Grasberg, a copper-gold mine in Papua, Indonesia is the largest gold mine in the world. The mine is mostly owned by Freeport-McMoran (NYSE:FCX), with the government of Indonesia owning roughly 9 percent of the complex. The open-pit mine at Grasberg has been in operation since 1990, and is expected to continue until 2017. After that, operations will transition to focus on underground orebodies beneath and nearby the Grasberg pit. In August, it was reported that Indonesia renewed the export license allowing Freeport to ship 1.4 million metric tonnes of concrete from the Grabserg mine through to January 11, 2017. source article: https://goo.gl/TvdB1Z

Vote Rio Tinto for Greenwash Gold 2012

01:21
Vote Rio Tinto for Greenwash Gold: http://www.greenwashgold.org/index.php/rio-tinto The metal for the 2012 Olympics medals is being provided by Rio Tinto, a massive British mining company. Metal for the medals will come from the company's Kennecott Bingham Canyon mine in Utah, USA, and its Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia. Groups in Utah are protesting about air pollution from Rio Tinto's Bingham Canyon operations, which contributes to hundreds of premature deaths each year in the Salt Lake City area. Planned expansion would make the situation worse. The Oyu Tolgoi mine will use enormous quantities of water in a desert region, and campaigners there accuse the company of poor planning and failure to share information with the public. But these are not the only concerns about Rio Tinto. The company's Ranger Uranium Mine in Australia is routinely spilling radioactive water into the surrounding area and is opposed by Aboriginal communities. Rio Tinto has been accused of association with human rights abuses around its now-closed Kelian Gold Mine in Indonesia and the Grasberg copper and gold mine in West Papua. In Bougainville, in the Pacific, the company hopes to reopen a copper mine which caused such catastrophic pollution that local people closed it down. Vicious repression of anti-mine protesters by the Government of Papua New Guinea sparked a war. In the USA, Rio Tinto is accused of violation of Indigenous treaty rights in Michigan, a legacy of pollution in Wisconsin, and planning destructive projects in Alaska and Arizona. And it has a history of appalling labour relations. Rio Tinto is bad news for many communities around the world. Its operations have failed to provide adequate protection of public health, the environment, workers and human rights. It is a scandal that it should be providing the metal for the London Olympic medals. Vote Rio Tinto for Greenwash Gold 2012! Indonesia Dark Side of Paradise Parts 2 - The Invasion

08:58
WARNING!!! THIS VIDEO CONTAINS ACTUAL FOOTAGE OF REAL TORTURE AND MURDER. WATCH AT YOUR OWN DISCRESTION. This Video depicts the Indonesian Military’s occupation of West Papua, (Indonesia?) and the alleged Human Rights Violations in order to protect the Rights and Safety of Foreign Corporations occupying Disputed Lands within West Papua. The video consists of three segments divided by Indonesia’s acting President Joko Widodo, explaining the Indonesian Constitution and Indonesian Human Rights in conjunction with Indonesian Ideology, in an interview with Yalda Hakim of the BBC News. Please note that President Widodo has only been in power since October 20, 2014, whereas this conflict has been in dispute for many decades. The first two segments are put to the music of composer Zach Beever, the first being “What Was Lost” and the second “Tense”, with limited photos found online. The reason for the limited availability of photos is quite possibly a direct result of laws preventing journalists from entering the zones of conflict which could possibly lead to security breaches of Corporate Defenses. The third and final segment is a Human Rights Video from 2010 (audio and captions) with Andy Partridge’s song “Dear God” playing in the background. Here are a few quotes from a 2011 article, write by Benny Wenda, published on theguardian.com website. - “Illegal logging is rife, and the world's largest gold and copper mine, Freeport, has caused permanent environmental devastation to our sacred lands that is visible from space.” - "Indonesian police have not learned how to deal with protesters without resorting to excessive, and even lethal, force". - “What caused the protests in recent days leading to the latest killing of my people? Local Papuan miners receive $1.50 per hour in wages. This from a company that is the largest single taxpayer to the Indonesian government, and for which profits are such that workers' strikes cost an estimated $30m in revenue per day.” - “So who is profiting from our sacred lands? The answer lies with companies including Freeport, Rio Tinto and BP – and, of course, the Indonesian government. When West Papua was colonised by Indonesia in the early 1960s, Indonesia quickly awarded the rights to mine our land to the US company Freeport-McMoRan (under the guidance of Henry Kissinger, who later joined Freeport's board). The multimillion-dollar Freeport contract was signed in 1967, two years before West Papuans were given a vote on whether to remain part of Indonesia in a UN referendum required by international law and the UN's commitment to decolonisation. The deal to exploit our resources had already been signed before the vote took place: Indonesia left nothing to chance in securing its future revenue stream. The Act of Free Choice (we call it the Act of No Choice) saw just 1,025 people allowed to vote, out of a population close to 1 million, under threat of violence.” - “Freeport and Rio Tinto are said to have close relations with the military to protect their mining interests in my people's lands – the very same military that is estimated to have killed more than 100,000 of my people and continue to commit abuses today.” - “While they have profited from our natural resources, my people have been subjected to nearly 50 years of oppression, hardship and poverty. As a child, my village was bombed by the Indonesian military and we fled to live in the jungle for many years, in fear of our lives. I have witnessed the rape and murder of my family by Indonesian soldiers.” Sorry for all the quoting, it was a small article and I thought there would only be a few small ones, however, Mr. Wenda only seems to like to write about the facts. Bre-X in Indonesia - Reason for 43-101

01:06
http://GoldspringInfo.blogspot.com The beginning of a study about Goldspring Inc. Audio Interviews with Goldspring Inc CEO Faber & COO Golden. http://www.mymusicstream.com/artist/1947/index.php SEC Filings, Press Releases, Investor Brochures http://GoldspringFacts.blogspot.com Continued from previous video that raised Q3: Look at the other side of the coin. It's not, eventhough it's not proven reserves. They put all these stipulations and they don't have the foggiest in third party verifiable writing as to how they are going to access it and how they are going to retrieve it. They don't know their extradiction cost is. A3 by Mike Norrad, President, Founder Techbase 3-D Scientific Visualization and software prediction tool of Geological Mining Reserves: One of the things that created the whole need for the 43-101 for full disclosure was Bri-X over in Indonesia. As an interesting side note, the Freeport geologist who uncovered the problem was using TechBase at the time. He put the data into TechBase software and the data did not make sense with the puffed up press releases. That starting the unraveling of the scam. Q4: The 3 youngsters today that received the stipends from the scholarships. They are the result of a Canadian project. It was unbelievable! They were hyping up there (the Overman Mining Company a few hundred feet higher in the Comstock) there as if was going out of style. (Bob Goldspringer has said several times that the Overman workings on the other side of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad was a total scam. When I saw that open pit in 2006 I thought it was funny as that it was narrow, backed up to the mountain on three sides and created a max slope to the railroad track on the east side. The pit was only about 100 feet deep with no room to go deeper due to constriction on all four sides. I suppose with a photograph the defunct Overman operators could have skewed the image to look much deeper with expansion to the south if they stood on a northerly rim.) A4: Colorado...They came in and created the Summitville Mine. They had a tailings dam break and dump cyanide right into a river. They were gone and gave Mining a bad name. But there are many responsible people in the business. It has been hard to overcome the bad animus (the environmentalist bash of hyperactivity in regard to such incidents that have over-swayed public opinion). [YouTube search cyanide + environmentalism - there is a current video about a current flashpoint of mining near a saltwater bay in Alaska. Our country has received a great cleansing due to protests, legislation and enforcement about pollution, but we have become out of balance crippling the extraction of minerals from the Earth, causing the cost of living to be much higher than necessary. How often do you hear an environmentalist cite a case were an environment is healthy near an industrial center? Life need not be either/or - we can have industry expand while being respectful to its environment. It has been done in many places and a plethora of scientists, engineers, technicians are making improvements that are constantly incrementing our symbiotic relationship with nature. Industry can have low impact to an environment as Lake Erie has been cleaner in the last three decades than its prior average condition in the 1960s. In the 1970s Lake Erie was ugly with pollution. The fish smelled with pollutants and fish bait could only be seen to a depth of 30 inches. In the 1960s bait on a hook with sinker could be seen to a depth of 6 feet. In the 1980s fish bait could be seen 18 feet deep and the water was clear blue versus the murky green of the 60s.] http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1120970/000114420408057210/v128715_ex99-1.htm http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1120970/000114420408057210/v128715_ex99-2.htm http://biz.yahoo.com/e/081014/gspg.ob8-k.html http://picasaweb.google.com/Scheqky.Goldsprings/GoldspringIncReserveUpdateChartsByTelesco# http://www.Goldspringfacts.blogspot.com http://www.ComstockGold.blogspot.com http://www.GoldspringInfo.blogspot.com http://www.GoldspringInc.blogspot.com http://www.mymusicstream.com/artist/1947/index.php Google Map: 1200 American Flat Rd, Gold Hill, Nevada 89440 http://www.ComstockLongRangers.blogspot.com The Bre-X Gold Scandal www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bre-X www.geology.about.com/cs/mineralogy/a/aa042097.htm

Lesser Hope For Saving Indonesian Miners

01:33
HOPES are fading for 23 workers trapped for four days after a tunnel collapsed at a mine in Indonesia's Papua province. "We continue to carry out these efforts non-stop, 24 hours a day as quickly as can be done safely to do everything possible to save lives," said Freeport Indonesia mine general manager Nurhadi Sabirin. "But as more time passes, the possibility of there being any survivors becomes less likely." Rock continued to fall in the tunnels, slowing the progress of rescuers, Sabirin said. Five people have been confirmed dead and 10 people were rescued after Tuesday's collapse of an underground training room, part of a mining complex operated by the Indonesian subsidiary of the US-based Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc. Sabirin said rescuers were using a device that detects vibrations. "This device has detected vibrations that could be consistent with a human heartbeat, but this is not conclusive and could be caused by a number of other vibrations," he said, adding that no other potential signs of life had been detected in the past 72 hours. Freeport Indonesia president director Rozik Soetjipto said the company would launch a thorough investigation into how such a tragedy could have happened. "We will enlist the help of international experts and the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources for the investigation," he said. Freeport Indonesia, which employs more than 20,000 people, is one of the world's largest producers of copper and gold.

The Transparent Trader on Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold | Loss on Trading Account Balance of -1%

GUADAGNA SOLDI QUI E ORA!!!! http://vk.cc/3ZzaVp ** Want to see all my current Open Trades? Download my complimentary Open Trades Performance Tracker report at TRADE SUMMARY: Freeport-McMoran Copper Gold Inc (FCX) | Trade Closed: 23/01/2014 | Loss on Trading Account Balance -1% ▼ COMMENTS ON THE TRADE: 23/01/14 -- Stop Loss taken out and so giving a 1% loss on my trading account balance. This has turned UGLY after such a promising start! Looking back I should have moved the Stop Loss to the 2% mark to protect the profit, but in this case I wanted to see if the trade would pull back then head for new highs. I was wrong and in the future I will stick to my conservative profit protection discipline. A very negative day for US markets today!! (see more at /) 10/01/14 -- As the price action went above the half way point to the target zone at the end of December where an initial Wave 5 was just managed, I didnt time stop the trade and take a handsome 2% profit on my trading account value. The correction since then has been aggressive but seems as though it has bottomed out yesterday at the 0.618 Fib line taken from the Wave 4 Low and the Interim Wave 5 high. To give more confidence I drew a TJs Ellipse from the same points which calculated an initial resistance at the same point as yesterday (Yellow filled ellipse) and if that fails a secondary slightly lower on around the 17th Jan (just below the 0.618 Fib line). This is a true test of discipline to let this play out and next weeks price action is critical! (see more at /) 10/12/13 -- Trade order triggered @ 34.98 and price has crossed the 6/4 MA High line so now back to 8/9 indicators in the green. Only worry is the Elliot Oscillator pull back going beyond the 140% line. (see more at /) 04/12/13 -- Stochastic has crossed below the 20% mark and the TJs ellipse has been hit at the Wave 4 extreme. I have set a conservative BUY order @ 34.98, which is way out of the Trend Channel as the Wave 4 pull back Oscillator has just moved past the 140% line. Still have 7/9 indicators in the green. (see more at /) 29/11/13 -- Trend Channel take from Pivot B as complex Wave 4. Stochastic still to cross below the 20% line and second TJs Ellipse still needing to complete could indicate the Wave 4 pullback is not quite complete. Another to keep a close eye on next wee. This song is about the singing crying about of 'person who are mute demanding of Peace, justice and hope for the future of the AMUNGME tribe. This also about Amungme people, land and culture. The Amung (also known as Amungme, Amuy, Damal or Uhunduni) people are a group of about 17,700 people living in the highlands of the Papua province of Indonesia. Their language is called Damal. The traditional beliefs of the Amungme people are animistic. The Amungme people did not have the idea of "gods" that are separate from nature where spirits and nature are one and the same. They practice shifting agriculture, supplementing their livelihood by hunting and gathering. The Amungme are very tied to their ancestral land and consider the surrounding mountains to be sacred. This has led to friction with the Indonesian government, which is eager to exploit the vast mineral deposits contained there. Major changes in the Amungme of the highlands and Kamoro of the lowlands lifestyle have been brought about by the Grasberg mine, situated in the heart of Amungme territory and owned by Freeport-McMoRan, the region's largest single employer. Extensive gold and copper mining have altered the landscape, and the presence of the mine and its infrastructure has attracted numerous other economic migrants from western Indonesia as well as other Papuans, some of whom have tried to settle on traditional Amungme lands. This has caused land dispute regarding customary land rights between the Amungme people against Freeport Indonesia mining company in Timika.] In the last 35 years, the Amungme have seen their sacred mountain destroyed by the mine, and watched as their relatives are killed by Indonesian soldiers "defending" it, while the Kamoro have more than 200,000 tons of waste pumped into their rivers each day. All these factors have created complex social and political stresses, and led to somewhat frequent protests and/or social conflicts, some of which have been violently suppressed by the Indonesian police or military.

Cryptocurrencies Here To Stay, Bitcoin Not The Last -- Belpointe's Nelson

06:14
David Nelson, chief strategist with Belpointe Asset Management, stops in to chat about Bitcoin, Freeport McMoRan's earnings results, as well as CEO Ian Adkerson's $36 million severance package, and tops it off with insights on the gold market. Nelson told Kitco News that cryptocurrencies are here to stay, noting that JP Morgan has filed a patent for a Bitcoin-style payment system. Nelson also comments on Freeport McMoRan's 4Q earnings beating the streets expectations but cautions that Indonesia's new tax export is something to look out for, especially with the company's enormous Grasberg complex in the middle of it. Nelson also touches on FCX's CEO Ian Adkerson's large severance pay and the trend of seeing these types of deals in Fortune 500 companies. Wrapping it up, Nelson says gold prices will have a tough opponent in the Fed this year as he expects more tapering but also points out that gold hasn't dropped. It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a pinkish-orange color. Copper is used as a conductor of heat and electricity, as a building material, and as a constituent of various metal alloys, such as sterling silver used in jewelry, cupronickel used to make marine hardware and coins, and constantan used in strain gauges and thermocouples for temperature measurement. Copper is one of the few metals that can occur in nature in a directly usable metallic form (native metals). This led to very early human use in several regions, from c. 8000 BC. Thousands of years later, it was the first metal to be smelted from sulfide ores, c. 5000 BC, the first metal to be cast into a shape in a mold, c. 4000 BC and the first metal to be purposefully alloyed with another metal, tin, to create bronze, c. 3500 BC.In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, the origin of the name of the metal, from aes сyprium (metal of Cyprus), later corrupted to сuprum (Latin), from which the words derived, coper (Old English) and copper, first used around 1530.The commonly encountered compounds are copper(II) salts, which often impart blue or green colors to such minerals as azurite, malachite, and turquoise, and have been used widely and historically as pigments. Copper used in buildings, usually for roofing, oxidizes to form a green verdigris (or patina). Copper is sometimes used in decorative art, both in its elemental metal form and in compounds as pigments. Copper compounds are used as bacteriostatic agents, fungicides, and wood preservatives. Copper is essential to all living organisms as a trace dietary mineral because it is a key constituent of the respiratory enzyme complex cytochrome c oxidase. In molluscs and crustaceans, copper is a constituent of the blood pigment hemocyanin, replaced by the iron-complexed hemoglobin in fish and other vertebrates. In humans, copper is found mainly in the liver, muscle, and bone. The adult body contains between 1.4 and 2.1 mg of copper per kilogram of body weight.

Since the withdrawal of the Dutch colonial administration from the Netherlands New Guinea in 1962, the implementation of Indonesian governance in 1963 and the formal absorption of Papua into Indonesia in 1969, the Free Papua Movement (Indonesian: Organisasi Papua Merdeka, (OPM), a militant Papuan-independence organisation, has conducted a low-key guerrilla war against Indonesia through the targeting of its military and police, and engages in the kidnapping of Papuan Indonesian settlers and foreigners. The Papuans have conducted various protests and ceremonies raising their flag for independence or federation with Papua New Guinea, and accuse the Indonesian government of indiscriminate violence and of suppressing their freedom of expression. Over 500,000 Papuans have been killed, and thousands more have been raped, tortured and imprisoned by the Indonesian military since 1969 and the Indonesian governance style has been compared to that of a police state, suppressing freedom of political association and political expression. Indonesia continues to restrict foreign access to the region due to sensitivities regarding its suppression of Papuan nationalism.
