Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto is not Dorian Nakamoto, he says

01:47
On February 11, 2009, someone called Satoshi Nakamoto announced to the internet that he had created a completely decentralized open source P2P e-cash system... Yup, Bitcoin. But no one really knew who Nakamoto was in real life, until yesterday when Newsweek reporter Leah McGrath Goodman outed the person she thinks invented the world's most successful digital currency, this guy, 64-year-old Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto. And then shit got crazy. Journos showed up at the physicist/engineer/computer genius/model train enthusiast's house in Temple City, California. And he told them he was ready for a free lunch. He hopped into a light blue Prius, and drove off with Ryan Nakashima, a reporter at the Associated Press, and they did have lunch... At Mako Sushi in Arcadia. But the pack kept after them and finally, they took refuge at the AP's headquarters in Los Angeles, and while the journos on the outside tweeted, shuffled and selfied while Nakamoto and Nakashima talked for two whole hours. Then Nakashima announced that Nakamoto said he is not the man behind Bitcoin at all and had no idea what it was until three weeks ago! Which no one believes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Evolution of Bitcoin - Full Documentary 2017 [HD] #Advexon

Check Top 100 Richest Bitcoin Address: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@advexon/top-100-richest-bitcoin-address Evolution of f Bitcoin - Full Documentary 2017 [HD] Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that solves mathematical problems. It’s the first example of a growing category of money known as cryptocurrency. What makes it different from normal currencies? Bitcoin can be used to buy things electronically. In that sense, it’s like conventional dollars, euros, or yen, which are also traded digitally. However, bitcoin’s most important characteristic, and the thing that makes it different to conventional money, is that it is decentralized. No single institution controls the bitcoin network. This puts some people at ease, because it means that a large bank can’t control their money. Who created it? A software developer called Satoshi Nakamoto proposed bitcoin, which was an electronic payment system based on mathematical proof. The idea was to produce a currency independent of any central authority, transferable electronically, more or less instantly, with very low transaction fees. Who prints it? No one. This currency isn’t physically printed in the shadows by a central bank, unaccountable to the population, and making its own rules. Those banks can simply produce more money to cover the national debt, thus devaluing their currency. Instead, bitcoin is created digitally, by a community of people that anyone can join. Bitcoins are ‘mined’, using computing power in a distributed network. This network also processes transactions made with the virtual currency, effectively making bitcoin its own payment network. * Subscribe for more Scientific & Technological Videos * Like & Share * go to our website http://www.advexon.com * Share your ideas and comment

Why No One Knows Who Created Bitcoin

01:57
The creator of Bitcoin goes by the name Satoshi Nakamoto and he currently owns just under one million bitcoin, which at its recent peak was worth about $19.4 billion dollars. That would make him Forbes’ 44th richest person in the world. But there’s just one problem - no one knows who this person is. Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym and his or her identity has remained a mystery for an entire decade. The creator could be a man, a woman, or even a whole group of people. But no one knows, and that’s important. Unlike every other current banking system in the world, no one owns Bitcoin. When you sign up for a Bank of America credit card, you have to trust that bank and all of its employees to keep your information safe, and to not lend your money out to other users. In return, they have to trust you to make your payments on time. Bitcoin is different. Bitcoin is based on cryptographic proof, not trust. There’s no bank, teller, president, or CEO to answer to. Nakamoto being nonexistent only helps bitcoin’s success as a genuine peer to peer network. On top of that, the inventor of Bitcoin has avoided adverse legal consequences by remaining anonymous, at least a partial reason for the currency's success. In 1998, Bernard von NotHaus was charged with violating federal law for his form of currency called "Liberty Dollars.” In 2007, one of the first digital currencies, E-Gold, was shut down on grounds of money laundering. Others have pointed to Bitcoin code as an inscrutable execution that nears perfection, citing the anonymity because he or she is “the most paranoid, painstaking coder in the world.” But for now, the identity remains a mystery, and experts in cryptocurrency say for the success of Bitcoin’s future, it’s important that the creator remain completely nonexistent. Matt Green, a cryptocurrency professor at Johns Hopkins University, says Nakamoto has the power to tank the currency if he wants to. He says to think of bitcoin as rare baseball cards. “They're valuable because they're rare. If somebody could dump hundreds or thousands of Mickey Mantle trading cards, rare ones, onto the market, they wouldn't be worth so much anymore." If Nakamoto ever sold his or her bitcoin, he or she would flood the market, cause the price of bitcoin to tank, and potentially collapse their own creation overnight.

(Audiobook) The Original Bitcoin White Paper by Satoshi Nakamoto

26:01
Donations greatly appreciated! Bitcoin: 1KdkeDArSd5LVaLVh9WePaHqB9yHLaKPfv I worked very hard to create this interactive audiobook format and graciously appreciate Bitcoin donations. After wanting to read the original Bitcoin Whitepaper, I discovered there wasn't a good audiobook version of it with graphs and formulas. So I went ahead and made it, using a slower reading speed so a viewer can try and take it all in. I have no affiliation with bitcoin.org or Satoshi Nakamoto. Download the original whitepaper here. http://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf From wikipedia.... In November 2008, a paper was posted on the internet under the name Satoshi Nakamoto titled Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. This paper detailed methods of using a peer-to-peer network to generate what was described as "a system for electronic transactions without relying on trust". In January 2009, the Bitcoin network came into existence with the release of the first open source Bitcoin client and the issuance of the first bitcoins, with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the first block of bitcoins ever (known as the "genesis block"), which had a reward of 50 bitcoins. The value of the first bitcoin transactions were negotiated by individuals on the bitcointalk forums with one notable transaction involving a 10,000 BTC pizza. "Satoshi Nakamoto" is a pseudonym for the unknown person or people who designed the original Bitcoin protocol in 2008 and launched the network in 2009. Nakamoto was responsible for creating the majority of the official Bitcoin software and was active in making modifications and posting technical information on the BitcoinTalk Forum.[73] I apologize in advance for the few wording mistakes. I tried to notate most of them.

Identity of the Creator of Bitcoin Found?

14:33
Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the unknown person or group of people who developed bitcoin, authored the bitcoin white paper, and created and deployed bitcoin's original reference implementation. As part of the implementation, they also devised the first blockchain database. In the process, they were the first to solve the double-spending problem for digital currency using a peer-to-peer network. They were active in the development of bitcoin up until December 2010. On a P2P Foundation profile, Nakamoto claimed to be a man living in Japan, born on 5 April 1975. Speculation about the true identity of Nakamoto has mostly focused on a number of cryptography and computer science experts of non-Japanese descent, living in the United States and various European countries. Satoshi Nakamoto also created the bitcointalk forum, and posted the first message in 2009 under the pseudonym satoshi. RATE COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE! Blockchain tutorial 17: Generate Bitcoin address

19:39
This is part 17 of the Blockchain tutorial explaining how to generate a Bitcoin address using an online tool. In this video series different topics will be explained which will help you to understand blockchain. Bitcoin released as open source software in 2009 is a cryptocurrency invented by Satoshi Nakamoto (unidentified person or group of persons). After the introduction of Bitcoin many Bitcoin alternatives were created. These alternate cryptocurrencies are called Altcoins (Litecoin, Dodgecoin etc). Bitcoin's underlying technology is called Blockchain. The Blockchain is a distributed decentralized incorruptible database (ledger) that records blocks of digital information. Each block contains a timestamp and a link to a previous block. Soon people realises that there many other use cases where the Blockchain technology can be applied and not just as a cryptocurrency application. New Blockchain platforms were created based on the Blockchain technology, one of which is called Ethereum. Ethereum focuses on running programming code, called smart contracts, on any decentralized application. Using the new Blockchain platforms, Blockchain technology can be used in supply chain management, healthcare, real estate, identity management, voting, internet of things, etcetera, just to name a few. Today there is a growing interest in Blockchain not only in the financial sector but also in other sectors. Explaining how Blockchain works is not easy and for many the Blockchain technology remains an elusive concept. This video series tries to explain Blockchain to a large audience but from the bottom up. Keywords often used in Blockchain conversation will be explained. Each Blockchain video is short and to the point. It is recommended to watch each video sequentially as I may refer to certain Blockchain topics explained earlier. Blockchain 101 Ep 05 - Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

01:12
Satoshi Nakamoto created and developed Bitcoin. He published the Bitcoin White Paper on November 1st, 2008, and mined his first Bitcoin on January 3rd, 2009. He is the person who is able to utilize the Bitcoins from the Genesis Block. So, who is Satoshi Nakamoto exactly? Throughout the years, many people claimed to be him. In 2013, someone theorized that World Renowned Mathematician, Shinichi Mochizuki, was Satoshi Nakamoto. In 2014, hackers accessed Satoshi Nakamoto's email address and found the owner to be Dorian Nakamoto. Dorian Nakamoto stated that he just obtained the email address and password by chance, and that he’s not Satoshi. In 2016, Craig Wright claimed to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto and that he could provide the private key. However, Wright retracted his statement as he couldn't respond to all the doubts that were being expressed. Bitcoin: Gavin Andresen | Nathaniel Popper | Andrew Ross Sorkin | Fred Wilson Recorded on May 19th, 2015 at the New York Public Library For more events by LIVE from the NYPL visit: http://www.nypl.org/events/live-nypl Watch the full 90min event here: http://goo.gl/Md1IiG Bitcoin is one of the most talked about but least understood technological innovations of recent years, continuing to draw new backers on Wall Street and Silicon Valley. New York Times reporter Nathaniel Popper's book, Digital Gold, illuminates this confounding technology through the first ever narrative recounting of Bitcoin's dramatic rise to prominence, which benefited from access to all the major players. He will be joined on stage by the programmer who has been leading the Bitcoin project since 2010, Gavin Andresen, and one of the biggest venture capitalists to back the technology, Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures. The conversation will be instigated by New York Times columnist and CNBC anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin. GAVIN ANDRESEN is the Chief Scientist at the Bitcoin Foundation and is one of the longest serving and most widely respected developers of the Bitcoin protocol. Prior to this, he wrote 3D graphics software in Silicon Valley. NATHANIEL POPPER is a reporter at The New York Times, where he has covered the intersections between Wall Street and Silicon Valley. Before joining the Times, he worked at the Los Angeles Times and the Forward. Popper grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Harvard College. He lives in Brooklyn with his family. ANDREW ROSS SORKIN is a financial columnist for The New York Times , a co-anchor of CNBC's "Squawk Box," and the editor-at-large of DealBook, a news site he founded that is published by The Times. Sorkin is the author of the best-selling book,Too Big to Fail: The Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System—and Themselves. Sorkin co-produced an HBO adaptation of the book, which was nominated for 11 Emmy Awards. He has won numerous journalistic honors including two Gerald Loeb award and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Sorkin began writing for The New York Times in 1995 under unusual circumstances: he hadn't yet graduated from high school. FRED WILSON has been a venture capitalist since 1987. He currently is a managing partner at Union Square Ventures and also founded Flatiron Partners. Fred has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Fred is married with three kids and lives in New York City.

He was a computer scientist who began his career developing console games and then was brought on by Phil Zimmerman to help develop for the PGP Corporation. PGP standing for Pretty Good Privacy. My last video was a brief introduction to the Cypherpunks and what they were all about. These individuals were able to communicate through anonymous email interactions. Hal played a big part in creating this type of messaging protocol and a big part of the Cypherpunks movement. There has always been a lot of speculation around the true identity of “Satoshi Nakamoto”. Some people think that Hal Finney was actually the real Satoshi even though Hal always denied this. There *was* a man named Dorian Nakamoto (Originally named Satoshi) who lived right down the block from Hal, but he has also always denied any ties whatsoever to what he called the “Bitcoin Company”. Bitcoin of course is not a company, rather is just a network of decentralized servers that maintain a distributed ledger. But anyway, back to this theory, this man Nakamoto had actually suffered quite a financial loss during the 2007/2008 financial crisis. One could say that this Satoshi Nakamoto fellow is a perfect representation of the individuals who could benefit from the system that is the Bitcoin network. I actually quite like this theory because at this point, after this network has grown to the size and scale that it has achieved, is it really important to identify Satoshi Nakamoto? Isn’t it instead better to think that Satoshi represents all of us who want to see an autonomous, independent solution to the old systems of centralized control and authority? We can argue all day about whether or not the Bitcoin of today has stayed true to the vision that its creator had at its inception, but it’s grown far outside of any one person’s control. Which is the whole point right? This is the first time you can actively participate in a system that was designed to facilitate your own input. You can run a fully validating Bitcoin node and be a part of the network. You can help to further decentralize and ultimately strengthen the network. You will have a say on how your transactions are done based on how you set it up. Hal Finney suffered from ALS, a disease which I’m all too familiar with as my own grandmother shared the same diagnosis. ALS just sucks. It slowly paralyzes the body and the average life span after diagnosis is about 2-5 years. Hal was diagnosed in 2009 but as this disease slowly took his mobility, Hal continued to code thanks to his equipment that could read his eye movements. He even designed software that would allow him to maneuver his wheelchair with his eyes also. Sadly, he eventually passed away in 2014. As a man who was always open to the future, and never felt threatened by innovation it should come as no surprise that he chose to be cryogenically frozen in the hopes of being reanimated in the future when technology would allow for his body to be made whole again. Hal’s life has ended but his story is one worth sharing and learning from. I encourage you to dig deeper into all that he’s contributed towards encryption and providing ways that we can all use to ensure our own privacy and let’s take a page out of his book and always be inspired by innovation, not fearful of it. This entire movement has deep roots in establishing ways that can guarantee your own autonomy if you want to pursue it, don’t be afraid to take part of and be inspired by the innovation.

Bitcoin 101: Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto And Why Do People Care?

00:45
Why is the press chasing a 64-year-old man named Dorian S. Nakamoto across Southern California? Because he could be the key to one of the biggest mysteries of the Internet Age and the creator of a virtual currency that, in total, is worth more than $7 billion. The idea for Bitcoin was first proposed in 2008 in a paper posted by someone or some group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto. Nakamoto, who allegedly changed his name from Satoshi Nakamoto 40 years ago, has denied being involved with Bitcoin, despite Newsweek claiming in a story that he invented the company.

The Missing Link between Satoshi & Bitcoin: Cypherpunk Scott Stornetta

57:09
W. Scott Stornetta is considered to be one of the founding fathers of current blockchain technology. Out of 8 citations in the Satoshi Nakamoto whitepaper, 3 of them (4 by some accounts) were of the work of Stornetta and his partner and friend Stuart Haber. He was a cypherpunk who dedicated his time at Xerox Park and Bell Communications Research to cryptography and distributed computing. It was a joy to chat with him about the history of the blockchain, uses before bitcoin, and what he refers to as "corporation 2.0" of the future, where we'll start to see all kinds of power structures become decentralized. Simple Blockchain in 5 Minutes

05:51
A blockchain is a data structure that was first introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin protocol white paper almost a decade ago. Bitcoin's blockchain stores transaction data, but we can store any type of data in a blockchain. Ethereum, for example, enables users to store code snippets called 'smart contracts' in their blockchain. In this video, we'll build a simple blockchain in Python that uses proof-of-work consensus, just like the Bitcoin protocol does. There's a lot of misunderstanding around what the blockchain is and what it can do so I hope this demonstrates how simple it really is. Enjoy! Alleged Bitcoin Creator Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto Denies Bitcoin Involvement

00:38
After a full day of wild speculation about the identity of Bitcoin's creator, the LA press finally tracked down Satoshi Nakamoto and he's receiving a grilling. According to reports, Nakamoto and an AP reporter went to a sushi restaurant earlier this afternoon while the rest of the press followed along. The man identified as the father of bitcoin vehemently denies any involvement. Satoshi Nakamoto, who changed his name Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto in 1973, was outed this morning in a Newsweek article based largely on circumstantial evidence. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/iapTPZno8wA/ http://www.wochit.com

Who is Satoshi? Alleged Bitcoin creator Phil Wilson tells all in interview

02:14:35
➤ Phil Wilson (aka Scronty), who claims to be one of the three original creators of Bitcoin (along with David Kleiman and Dr Craig Wright) and the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, tells his historical story to us in this exclusive interview about the origins of Bitcoin and Satoshi. Phil acknowledges that his memory isn't perfect and that he has a tendency to ramble, but for anyone truly interested in understanding the origins of Bitcoin, and putting the Satoshi debate to bed, this is a must watch. Timestamps with context have been included below, to make the interview easier to navigate. Phil begins by discussing early attempts at electronic cash, including a version partially shared with him by Dr Craig Wright and David Kleiman, that he discovered was riddled with issues. He then explains why he took a break from the Satoshi group, only to later return with a new vision for digital currency, which we now know as Bitcoin. ▼ Need to skip ahead? ▼ ➤ PRE-BITCOIN: Electronic cash, research and problems. ☞ 2:00 – Establishing communication with David Kleiman and Dr Craig Wright. What is The History of Bitcoin: Super Easy Explanation

12:11
What is The History of Bitcoin: Super Easy Explanation - https://blockgeeks.com/ We’ll start at the very beginning by understanding the history of blockchain. The very first blockchain in the world was Bitcoin. An anonymous person or group known as Satoshi Nakamoto published a document in an online cryptography forum in November 2008 and revealed the first details of how it would work, describing it as a “peer-to-peer electronic cash system”. The whitepaper is available today at bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf. It allows any 2 people to pseudonymously send money to each other no matter where they are in the world. It is a borderless currency. The main benefit of Bitcoin is that it does not require any centralized authority or institution to operate. This is in contrast to today’s centralized financial systems that depend on the existence of a central bank or government to mint money. If for any reason the central authority were to shutdown, the money would become worthless. In a decentralized system like Bitcoin, there is no central authority and the system can continue to operate as long as there are members in its peer-to-peer network. The goal of the whitepaper was to describe how the different parts of the Bitcoin protocol would operate and be kept secure. A new type of database, called a blockchain, would keep track of a single history of all Bitcoin transactions and it would be maintained by everyone in the network. The database would be publicly available for anyone to view and inspect, and anyone can download a copy of the same database. This provides data redundancy and makes sure the data is never lost, but also provides a way for anyone to verify the transactions in the database themselves. A block in the database just stores a sequence of transactions, and a sequence of blocks is called a blockchain. Each block is identified by an incrementing number and a unique Sha-256 hash. The hash for a block is calculated using the transactions inside it, as well as the previous block’s hash, which forms a chain of hashes. The data in the blocks is secured using a cryptographic algorithm called proof-of-work, which also keeps all members of the network and the database in sync to prevent double-spending. In this context, preventing double-spending means preventing anyone from spending money they dont have. Proof-of-work is used to generate new blocks for the database, also known as mining, and the reward for mining a new block is given to the miner by creating new Bitcoins in the system. This is the only way new Bitcoins can be created. Anyone on the network can be a miner and a new block is mined roughly every 10 minutes, which includes the latest set of verified transactions. The first release for Bitcoin was version 0.1 written in C++ by Satoshi and published on SourceForge in January 2009 under the open-source MIT license. Anyone could download the source code and run it to join the network, also known as becoming a node in the network. This is the original version 0.1 source code written by Satoshi. We can see the hard-coded genesis block, which is the very first block in the chain. The hash for the block can be verified by using any Bitcoin blockchain explorer. Let’s copy and paste this hash into the blockchain explorer available at blockchain.info. We can see that this hash is for block number 0, and that it has only one transaction in it which is the mining reward, and the reward amount of 50 Bitcoin was given to this Bitcoin address. We can also see this 50 Bitcoin reward for the genesis block in the original source code. The genesis block is a special case needed to start the blockchain and is the only block that is hard-coded, whereas every subsequent block is calculated using proof-of-work. Satoshi’s motivation for creating Bitcoin is revealed in the piece of data he included in the genesis block: a newspaper headline from The Times that read ‘Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks’. The date of the newspaper is proof that the genesis block was created on or after Jan 3 2009. Satoshi developed the source code mostly himself up until mid-2010, when he handed it off to the open-source community. It is now maintained under the project called Bitcoin Core. The software is currently at version 0.15.1 and is available for download at bitcoin.org. This is still the most popular Bitcoin client, and its estimated that there are over 10 thousand nodes running the Bitcoin network today using various clients. Satoshi disappeared from public view in late 2010, his identity still unknown to this day. The only way someone could prove that they are Satoshi is by using the same encryption keys used when posting the original whitepaper in the online cryptography forum. Dorian Nakamoto Thanks The Bitcoin Community, Reminds Us He's Not The Real Satoshi

00:35
The alleged "face of Bitcoin," Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto, has taken to Youtube with noted Bitcoin activist, Andreas Antonopoulos, to thank the Bitcoin community for sending him over $20,000 in BTC donations . "If I was the real creator, I would never use my real name," said Nakamoto in the video. Nakamoto was "unmasked" in March when Newsweek ran a cover story claiming that the California-based retiree wrote the original bitcoin white paper that started the ball rolling. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/NAQBgFVaBzU/ http://www.wochit.com

Nick is a polymath, meaning he is an expert in many different subject areas. In his case, he is a computer scientist, economist, and legal scholar and cryptographer. This guy has had quite the foresight with his ideas and things that have ended up coming to fruition in this crypto space. He designed “Bit Gold” about a decade before Bitcoin, which has been called the predecessor for the Bitcoin architecture. Bit gold would have worked so that participants would dedicate computer power to solve cryptographic puzzles and each solution for these puzzles would have served as a part of the next challenge. Sounds a bit like the beginning of a chain to me… These solutions would then be reported to a Byzantine fault-tolerant public register. Byzantine fault tolerance or BFT is a way to organize (in this case) a system of computers to address and defend against the failure of a system. He even created the concept and phrase “smart contracts” way back in 1993 because he had the goal of bringing “highly evolved” practices of contract law together with the design of electronic commerce protocols between strangers on the internet. Now we are seeing the huge growth of the implementation of smart contracts all over this crypto space with Ethereum and ERC20 tokens. As with a number of other individuals I’ve previously covered in this “Discovering Satoshi” series, Nick Szabo has been hounded by people trying to solve the mystery of identifying the anonymous Bitcoin creator who goes by or at the very least, went by Satoshi Nakamoto. Is it really even important anymore to put a face to the name? What should be more important and more highly valued is what was created, not who specifically created it. If you couldn’t tell already, I’m partial to learning more about a whole host of individuals who played a part in the creation and facilitation of this crypto space. Lucky for us, Nick Szabo has a lot of thoughts on things like economics, cryptography and other topics, he’s also a great writer. He’s got a blog that I think is very much worth checking out if you’re interested in expanding your knowledge library. You can find it at unenumerated.blogspot.com. His blog goes really in-depth and there’s a ton of material there for you to check out, he doesn’t post all too often, but when he does, it’s worth it.
