Blocknet Linux Wallet Upgrade, Install or run Qt from Command Line

01:08
This is a quick tutorial on how to upgrade or install the Blocknet wallet from the Linux Command Line. This is difficulty level of easy to moderate depending upon your comfort with the command line. We basically go to the directory where we have extracted our tar.gz file and open it. Usually called Blocknet with a version number. Inside that directory is another directory called "bin". Once inside the bin directory right-click anywhere on the white space. Select open in terminal. Once the terminal is open on the command line enter ./blocknetdx-qt And that is all you need to do! If you found this video helpful donations are always appreciated, they help in the production of these videos.Blocknet address BrtYV3vp6Uv94S7dCjuwVehhCagPTchpNe

How To Set Up A Bitcoin Wallet

09:07
Created By : Redfeather @ : http://grephaxs.com This is Redfeather from Grep Haxs in this video we will be showing you how to set up a Bitcoin wallet although I will be using Linux Ubuntu to set up this wallet the procedure on other operating systems is the same for the set up of the Bitcoin wallet so just what is a Bitcoin wallet well the most obvious it is a place to store your Bitcoin crypto currency but it is much much more than that a Bitcoin wallet is also where you send and receive your Bitcoin each wallet is assigned a unique mailing address one of the main features is security the Bitcoin wallet uses a private key encryption in the proses of setting up the Bitcoin wallet they give you a choice to encrypt or not also one of the most important parts of the Bitcoin wallet is the wallet recovery method the recovery method is a statement of random sentence words it is called a seed given these random words or seed if you will and your password that is used to encrypt should be old schooled and written on a peace of paper and stored in a safe place like a safe or maybe a safe deposit box there are more things to know about Bitcoin wallet security but the main focus of this video is how to set up the wallet although there are a few other things to consider before we begin with the set up we must consider system requirements the reason this is important although you could just download a wallet and start using it if the system requirements do not match up you could get crashes and compromise any security settings I am using an older system at this time of making this video take note of my available disk space 99.6 GB so let us take a look at some of the system requirements for the Bitcoin wallet looking at this graph from the wiki Bitcoin client page you will notice system requirements for each wallet along with other useful information note the wallet we will be installing today is the Electrum this is considered a lite wait wallet the system requirements only being 5 MB also at bit coin . Org there is a Bitcoin warning page concerning the wallet to which also shows system requirements as well as other requirements to be aware of the only reason I bring this to your attention is for educational purposes if your system can Handel the requirements I feel it is best to go with the original Bitcoin wallet for two purposes one being extra security and two supporting the network and its Independence if you are using Linux you can download the Bitcoin wallet from the software center or install it threw the command line but keep in mind in the detail section where it states 107.1 MB this is just the size to download but not to operate the software there are also a lot of other places you can download a Bitcoin wallet from such as www.bitcoin.com or from the wiki Bitcoin client graph page I showed you earlier in this video in the Ubuntu software center type Electrum once there click install and the installation will begin for your Bitcoin wallet once the installation is complete you must restart your system then click on the Electrum wallet a configuration window will appear asking what you would like to do for the purpose of this video I will just click next the next page is where they give you your seed message this is the message I talked about earlier that should be written down and kept in a safe place if you lose this or forget it and you are compromised some how you lose all of any Bitcoin holdings and transactions once this is done click next next you will be asked to type the seed message given in the last window this also gives you a practice run of the recovery process once this is done click next next you will be asked to place a password if you would like to encrypt your keys I highly suggest you use this feature although remember to write this down and save it with your seed message for your Bitcoin wallet once this is done click next the next window will ask how you would like to connect to the server for the purpose of this Bitcoin wallet video I will just use auto connect after you decide click next now your Bitcoin wallet should be up and running a good indication of this is the green network globe circle in the lower right corner also in looking threw other settings you should receive your address and a welcome note from the network I hope you have enjoyed this video and found it useful we hope you join us in our next video called How To Join A Bitcoin Mining Pool if you found this video useful and helpful why not give this video a like and while your at it why not become a subscriber please feel free to leave a comment and by all means if you would like to read some interesting articles come on by our website @ http://grephaxs.com the intro/extro of this video has been provided by alexabaiu1 from his YouTube channel thank you in advance I am out

Bitcoin Cash: Step By Step Guide To Claim Your Free BCC / BCH

15:57
Note: You can still get your Bitcoin Cash AFTER 8-1-17 if the following are the case: 1) You owned Bitcoin in a Bitcoin wallet on 8-1-17 when the Bitcoin Cash fork occurred 2) You have access to the private keys that correspond to that Bitcoin address If that’s the case, congrats – you can get Free Bitcoin Cash! Look for your wallet below to see the process of exporting your private keys. If you run into issues, post a comment below and I’ll try to help. SECTION 1: EXPORTING YOUR LEGACY BITCOIN PRIVATE KEYS FROM A BITCOIN ELECTRUM WALLET: To export your private key from an Electrum Bitcoin wallet and import into the Bitcoin ABC Bitcoin Cash wallet, see the example in the video. The simple text version for Electrum is to go to Wallet - Private Keys - Export and it will dump your private keys into a csv file. Just copy the private key that corresponds to the Bitcoin address which has your balance. Then go to Section 2 below. FROM A BITCOIN QT WALLET: If you have a Bitcoin QT wallet you need to export your Private Key and Import it into the Bitcoin ABC QT wallet. The Bitcoin ABC QT wallet is currently working fine - I can see my Bitcoin Cash balance, however no exchanges are accepting deposits yet so you just have to wait. At lease while we're waiting BCH is going up! I digress. To export your private key from a Bitcoin QT wallet, you need to go into the Console to do it. Follow these steps under your Original Bitcoin QT wallet: Go to Help - Debug Window - Console tab, then type these commands to show your private key - (no parens needed in the command itself, just the value): walletpassphrase (yourfullpassword) 6000 dumpprivkey (your original BTCaddress that held BTC at the time of the fork) The walletpassphrase command unlocks your wallet for the number of seconds you provide - here 10 mins in my example, so you can then get your key. The dumpprivatekey command will show your private key that corresponds to your Bitcoin address. Copy it and go to Section 2. FROM AN ARMORY BITCOIN WALLET: In your Bitcoin Armory wallet your private key can be found by double-clicking your wallet in the Armory main window, click “Backup this wallet”, then select “Export Key Lists” and click the button of the same name. Verify your password, and you’ll be presented with your private key in different encodings. You can remove all checkboxes, except “Private Key (Plain Base58)”. Check the “Omit spaces in key data” box. Now select the key string and copy it and then go to Section 2. FROM AN EXODUS BITCOIN WALLET: On Exodus you need to Choose Developer - Assets - Bitcoin - Export Private Keys… Your private keys will be exported to a folder on your Desktop titled “exodus-exports” Open that file and find your BTC address, select the corresponding private key, copy it and then go to Section 2. FROM A BLOCKCHAIN.INFO BITCOIN WALLET: If your wallet is on Blockchain.info, login and then go to Settings - Addresses on the left. Then find your BTC address and click on More Options, then Private Keys. Validate your password as prompted and when the private key is provided, copy it and go to Section 2. SECTION 2: IMPORTING YOUR LEGACY BITCOIN PRIVATE KEYS Follow these steps to Import your Private Keys into your Bitcoin Cash Wallet: Then to import your private key into your BCH wallet, you need to first download and sync the wallet from BitcoinABC.org. Note, this took me almost 40 hours. Once sync'ed you can follow the steps I show in this video guide or follow the text version below First, as with anything in this space - turn your encryption on under Settings. Then go to Help - Debug Window - Console tab, then type these commands to Import private key into your Bitcoin ABC wallet. walletpassphrase (yourfullpassword) 6000 importprivkey (yourBTCprivatekey) Again, the walletpassphrase command unlocks your wallet for the number of seconds you provide - here 10 mins in my example, so you can then get your key. The importprivkey command will import private key that corresponds to your Bitcoin address. The blockchain will rescan all the transactions for your address and then when it's done you will see your Bitcoin Cash balance in your Bitcoin ABC wallet dashboard. Congratulations, you just got your Free Bitcoin Cash! AFTER CLAIMING YOUR BITCOIN CASH: Before you import your private key and your Bitcoin Cash is showing, transact in the following order to be safe: 1) Move your original BTC from your address to another address and never use that original address on the original chain again 2) Leave your Bitcoin Cash at your original address until sending transactions safely is confirmed/mining running okay/exchanges open up BCH deposits, etc. To your crypto success! What is a Bitcoin Node? - Step by Step Explanation

05:47
What is A Bitcoin Node. Step by Step Explanation https://blockgeeks.com/ The bitcoin network consists of a network of nodes, which are just computers or servers running the Bitcoin software. The code ensures the nodes can find and establish connection with other nodes and hence form a network that is used by the various nodes to transfer information, like transactions, blocks and other data. Through this web of interconnecting nodes, bitcoin can send digital cash securely through the network. The underlying bitcoin code implements the bitcoin protocol. So how does a new node join the bitcoin network? First it must discover at least one peer to connect to and then it can get a list of other peers from that initial peer. There are a few methods a node can use to connect to its first peer. The bitcoin client contains a hardcoded list of well known DNS servers which can return a list of ip addresses of bitcoin nodes. Alternatively, the bitcoin client can be given a static ip address of a peer if one is known. You can pass this ip address as a parameter when starting the bitcoin client software through the command line. It’s important to note that bitcoin’s network topology is not geographically defined, so the physical location of the nodes in relation to one another is irrelevant. This means a node can find and connect to any other node regardless of where it is in the world. Once a node has the ip address of a peer, it then goes through an initial handshake to establish a connection with a remote node. First the local node will send a version message to the peer which contains some basic information about itself. This will always be the first message sent by any peer to another peer. The remote peer receiving the message will examine if the sender’s version is compatible with its own version. If it is, it will acknowledge the version message and establish a connection by sending a “version acknowledgment” message, which consists only of a message header with the command string “verack”. Once a node establishes connections with one or more peers, it will exchange some information with these peers. For example, nodes can exchange ip addr of their connected peers, so each node can maintain a list of peers that it can use to re-establish connection in the future since nodes can leave and join the network at anytime. A Node can also ask its peers what the length of their local copy of the blockchain is. It can then determine if it’s own copy of the blockchain is missing any blocks, and if so, can ask its peers to send the missing blocks. Of course it can also send blocks to other nodes who do not have as much data as itself. Let’s take a closer look at the various nodes in the network. Although all the nodes participate in the network, they have different roles depending on the functionalities they want to support. There are 4 major functions: routing, storage, mining and wallet services. The bitcoin core client implementation in c++ has all four of these functionalities. Routing is the bare minimum functionality a node must support in order to participate in the bitcoin network. It contains the functionality to discover and connect to other peers in the network and it also validates and propagates transactions and blocks through the network. It serves the purpose of keeping the network connection alive and passing information through the network. A node is called a full blockchain node if it stores a local copy of the entire blockchain database. A full node can autonomously and authoritatively verify any transactions without any external references. Crypto NEWS Today!! Bitcoin SV Delisting Continues // Japan’s AMAZON Releases Crypto Wallet

05:54
Cryptocurrency News Today!! As seen on CoinMarketCap, we’ve got a pretty positive and healthy market, with a majority of greens across the board, with some coins experiencing nice gains overall. Bitcoin (BTC) has increased by 3.55%. Ether (ETH) still maintains its "second in command" status, with great gains of 3.71%. Now, if I scroll down to the top 20, we’re also looking at a pretty lush and green market. Monero has increased nicely by 7.44% while Tezos is also increasing by 8.51%! Now onto the Bitcoin News! Rakuten has officially begun letting prospective users of its cryptocurrency wallet register for the service. The firm has made it clear that the existing clients of Rakuten Bank will not have to go through a lengthy registration process like others. Now onto the second Crypto News Today! These are certainly not the best of times for Craig Wright as more and more highly reputed cryptocurrency exchanges are beginning to latch onto the #DelistBitcoinCashSV movement. “We stand with Binance and Changpeng Zhao’s sentiments,” said Erik Voorhees, founder and CEO of ShapeShift. Interestingly, Kraken a United States-based exchange has started an opinion poll on Twitter, asking its users whether it should delist the altcoin and so far, more than 70 percent of respondents have given the exchange the go-ahead to do so. So what are your thoughts on this situation? Do you think that the Rakuten Crypto Wallet will trigger mass adoption of cryptos? My experience in creating this podcast is that you find some who say they are maximalists, but Monero is cool, or that Decred is interesting. The ability to command respect is usually steeped in a currencies foundation sharing characteristics of Bitcoin: An anonymous founder A focus on decentralisation A monetary policy which does not enrich the founders and developers No premine One such project which has sparked interest is Grin’s implementation of Mimblewimble, a new coin which attempts to solve some of the privacy and scaling issues of Bitcoin. On August 2nd, 2016, Tom Elvis Jedusor, a contributor to the Bitcoin Wizards IRC channel dropped his whitepaper, describing a blockchain with a radically different approach to transaction construction from Bitcoin. In October 2016, Andrew Poelstra from Blockstream completed his analysis of the whitepaper and dropped a position paper filling in some of the gaps from the original paper to make precise the idea. In the middle of November, Ignotus Peverell, another anonymous developer, appeared on the same IRC channel with a link to GitHub with an implementation of Mimblewimble, and this is how Grin was born. Fast forward to today and Grin has launched its fourth testnet and is preparing to launch its mainnet in January of next year. How to easily install the Ethereum wallet! | Tutorial

03:29
In this tutorial I'll show you how to quickly and easily set up your own Ethereum Mist wallet. I also explain how to create a backup of your wallet which is very important (be sure to remember the password you use to create your wallet too!) Thanks for watching my video and be sure to subscribe for more blockchain-related videos. Here is the download link for the Mist wallet: https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases **For Support** I cannot answer all the support questions personally due to my schedule, I will still try to answer questions when I can, but you can find quality support from the following 3 places, please check them out first: Firstly, go to the Mist troubleshooting guide, here: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Mist-Troubleshooting-Guide Next, you may find answers to your questions by scrolling the comments as you will find a good number of questions already answered. Finally, you can get support directly from the wallet developers here(I am not one of them, just a guy trying to help guide people get their wallet going): https://gitter.im/ethereum/mist (note you will need to make a github account to post questions). Alternatively, I've heard a lot of good feedback about the Jaxx wallet, and it seems to be the 2nd most popular wallet after Mist. It's generally easier to set up and get started, so check them out if you like (though note, the Jaxx wallet is not within the main Ethereum team's scope, so as always, do your own research and use at your own risk). Here is a link to their site: https://jaxx.io/ Thanks for stopping by and wish you the best!
