Top 10 Things to do in Ballarat Victoria Australia
If you plan on taking a holiday to Victoria Australia, one of the most popular tourist spots to visit outside of Melbourne is Ballarat. It does get a bit cooler than Melbourne, so take some warm clothes! One of the biggest festivals in Ballarat is their Winter Festival. Here they decorate laneways with colourful lights and have a pop up ice skating ring just off Sturt Street. One of the biggest events though is the Winter Wonderlights at Sovereign Hill. I’ll show more of this in the video guide to Ballarat. In this video I will show you some of the best things to do in Ballarat for a family, couple or even solo traveller. This is a list of Ballarat’s top tourist attractions 10. Ballarat Wildlife Park The park was opened in 1987 and covers some 37 acres of natural bushland. If you want to see some natural Australian animals, Ballarat Wildlife Park has plenty, from free roaming kangaroos and emus – where you can hand feed these cute Australian animals. Learn about koalas on one of the guided tours. Get a selfie with a wombat. Watch Tasmanian devils getting fed. See giant tortoises, crocodiles and alligators. And of course the meerkats! Check out the reptile enclose for snakes and lizards. A great place to take the whole family in Ballarat. 9. Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka The Eureka Flag is housed on the historic site of the 1854 Eureka Stockade and is surrounded by the scenic Eureka Stockade Memorial Gardens. 8. The Art Gallery of Ballarat. If you’re an art lover, this is the place to visit in Ballart. It holds both temporary and permanent art works. 7. Gold Museum of Ballarat. Gold is what made this town and this museum gives a fascinating insight to Ballarat’s gold rush. If you buy a ticket to Sovereign Hill, you will get the ticket included to the museum. 6. Lake Wendouree. This is a lovely spot to visit in Ballarat – enjoy a stroll around the lake, stop of one of the cafes or just enjoy the lovely gardens of the Botanic Gardens in Ballarat. Highlights to visit are the Prime Ministers Avenue, Adam Lindsay Gordon Cottage, the Australian Ex- Prisoner of War Memorial, the Ballarat Tramway Museum (try to take a tram ride by Lake Wendouree) and the 1956 Olympic Memorial. 5. Ballarat Ghost Tour. With Ballarat having the reputation of being one of Australia’s most haunted cities why night take a ghost tour of Ballarat at night. Eerie Ghost tours operates a weekend ghost tour of Ballarat. Meet under the clock tower at Ballarat Railway Station for a spooky 2 hour walking ghost tour. Visit haunted spots and listen to ghost stories by the guide. A fun way to see Ballarat. 4. Ballarat Heritage Tours. Take one of this walking tours of Ballarat, learn about this history of the city and its famous landmarks. Taken by an experienced guide who is extremely knowledgeable about Ballarat history. 3. Bloody Ballarat Tour. Take this tour of the dark side of Ballarat – true tales of murder and crime that you don’t learn in your history books. A fantastic tour you should do in Ballarat. The tours run at night. 2. Kryal Castle. One of the more popular things to do in Ballarat, especially for the family is Kryal Castle. Built as medieval castle just outside of town. Fun things to see the knights at the Tournament Arena. Here they joust on horseback and even sword fight. Watch the wizard make potions in his workshop. Visit the Torture Museum or get lost in the castle’s maze. There are places to eat and you can even stay overnight at one of their rooms. I will do another video on accommodation at Kryal Castle. Prices are listed on the website. 1/ Sovereign Hill Without a doubt the number one tourist attraction in Ballarat is Sovereign Hill. It has been voted Australia’s best ‘Major Tourist Attraction’ multiple times. A theme park set back as an 1850’s gold mining town. Learn to pan for gold in a replica river. Go underground on some the gold mining tours. Watch people preforming chores dressed in period costumes. See how they make candy the old way. Some other popular attractions at Sovereign Hill include the Red Coat Soldiers musket firing, horse and coach rides, bowling, candle making, getting and old photo taken and other street activities. A great place to take the whole family - a great educational experience for kids to learn about history. During Winter Sovereign Hill has its Winter Wonderlights Festival. This is a specular light show – that for me is a must do in Ballarat. The lights and snow effects make this truly a wonderful show to experience. During the festival they decorate Main Street shops with Christmas decorates, have a band playing Christmas Carols and you might even see Santa. One of the best Christmas in July events in Australia! A must for the family! Ticket prices are listed on the website. *All rates and conditions subject to change without notice. Burra, South Australia 1915. Belgian Flag Day, Australia Day, ANZAC Day
From the National Collection. Three silent newsreel films highlighting various street parades from Burra, South Australia all held in 1915. These interesting newsreels show the then prosperous and bustling mining town of Burra, or the collection of townships known as The Burra, commemorating and celebrating three significant events in 1915. The first, held on the 10th of May, is Belgian Flag Day held as a fund raiser for the war effort. The second is Australia Day held on July the 30th. This predates the now national celebration held on January 26. At that time there was no nationally recognised national day. The third film from 1915 is the very first ANZAC Day held that year on October 13. That first ANZAC Day or the Patriotic Procession and Carnival as it was also know was more mardi gras and fete, as the title card suggests, than the solemn commemoration it is today. Many of the buildings seen in these films, including the rotunda, still stand today.

In 1869 Two Miners Set out in Search of Gold – and They Made a Record-Breaking Discovery
You can now join Hulu starting at $5.99/ month! Click the link below to sign up! http://bit.ly/HuluVideo ---------------------------------------------------------- Today, Victoria is the second most populated state in Australia. In the mid-19th century, it was more like the American Wild West. This is because the country had a major gold rush. The idea of finding riches beyond their wildest dreams is what brought people from all over the world to the area. The gold rush in Australia began in February 1851, when specks of gold were discovered in New South Wales. After that, more and more gold was discovered. During the peak of the gold rush, two tons of gold per week were sent to Melbourne's Treasury Building. This helped Britain pay off its international debt, which allowed the country to expand its growing empire. The population significantly increased during this time. Since the first gold discovery, over a half million people moved to Australia. Some towns had a growth in the population of 1,000 people. Unfortunately, this didn't last. With much of the gold having been already found, there was no money to be made. In 1915, the export of gold from Australia was prohibited, and the gold standard was abolished. This left many towns abandoned. In the 1850s, when the gold rush was just beginning, word of the rush spread to Britain. Former tin miner, John Deason, and Richard Oates heard about the money to be made in Australia. At the time, the two men were living on Britain's southwest coast. They decided to give up in mining, and they sailed to Australia to try their luck as gold prospectors. They moved to the township of Moliagul in Victoria. Due to the gold rush, Moliagul was doing great. There were 11 pubs in the town during the gold rush. In 1855, over 16,000 people were living in the town. John and Richard were two of these residents. John and Richard tried to make a living being prospectors. It wasn't an easy job. If the men were unable to find any gold, they wouldn't make money. It wasn't long before the two men ran out of money for food. They knew that they needed just one big score to set themselves up for life. Unfortunately, in 1869, the men were in debt. They were so poor that they couldn't even get credit to buy flour. The two men refused to give up, and in February, the men tried their luck in another area. In 1869 Two Miners Set Out In Search Of Gold – And They Made A Record-Breaking Discovery. Around 9 am on February 5, 1869; John was digging in a new location. He was trying to get his pick around tree roots when the pick broke. He shouted, "Damn it! I wish it were a nugget." John took a closer look at what had broken his pick. When he looked down, he realized that he struck gold. He and Richard were looking at the huge nugget that they uncovered. John thought that the huge nugget was worth at least $6,000, and Richard thought that is was worth $2,600. Not wanting to wait, the two men hauled the massive nugget back to John's shack. The nugget was embedded in a layer of quartz. They had to get the gold out of the quartz, so they placed it on top of a fire. When it cooled down, they broke 70-pounds of quartz from the nugget. When they broke off the quartz that contained a lot of loose gold. The nugget was 24-inches long and 12-inches wide. They knew that they needed to weigh the giant nugget before selling it, so the two men stashed it in a calico bag. The next morning, the two men took their nugget, which they named, Welcome Stranger, to the London Chartered Bank in Donnelly so that it could be weighed. They were planning to get the weight and sell the nugget. The nugget was too large to fit on the bank's scale. They had to use sledgehammers and chisels to break the nugget down so that it could be weighed. When the gold was finally weighed, it totaled 210-pounds. It was the largest nugget ever to be found to this day. When news of John and Richard's find got out, people lined up at the bank to see the huge nugget. The men received over $12,000 and became instant celebrities. The two men were generous and gave a pound to each of their friends. This find was so huge that the town commissioned a stone memorial for the Welcome Stranger in 1897. If the nugget were found today, it is believed that it would be worth $8.5 million. Richard had no family to share his wealth with, but John had a wife, and he bought 80-acres of land to settle down an cultivate. Sadly, John lost all of his money in failed investments. By the time he died, he was broke. Just because he died a poor man, the town never forgot the John and Richard's fantastic find.

Australian Flag Themed 3 String Cigar Box Guitar
Murray Christmas 2015 !!!
Day 1 of Red Flag, and the first Red Flag of 2018. I jumped ahead of the videos to show you some of this series which I spent 2 nights. Then had to go to work at the mine north of Area 51. On my way back from the mine I stayed another night. This Red Flag exercise was the largest Red Flag to date. The United States only invited our closest allies to this Red Flag. Which was United Kingdom, and Australia. I watched, and filmed the mass take off at Nellis AFB. The mass take off was a practice take off. It took place the day before Red Flag was scheduled to start. That was the day that the Australian Growler slid off the runway due to an electrical fire. Thank God the pilot got out without getting hurt, but the Growler is a total loss. Can't wait to show you all the dogfights that happened right over my friend, and I's head. Also so you can hear probably every pilot talk to each other during their mission then getting attacked. I'll be there in March for Red Flag number 2-2018 as well. Area 51 has many security measures planted all around the perimeter of the base. Most of them detect movement, and some believe they can tell the difference between an animal, and a human. I went to one sensor that the camo dudes really protect. I've seen they have put two more of these sensors up in the past year. I have tried to get right at the border to film these sensors in the past. Everytime I did a camo dude would block the road. With Red Flag going on, and an extra amount of people in the area. I felt this would be my best time to get as close as possible. I finally made it to the border. In a video coming up I'll show where I set a tripod up in the back of my truck. I was able to zoom right in on the sensor, and count the wires going to it. Yes I went back a second time to get that video. I was also able to get 2 of the other sensors due to being higher, and using my better camera. All of these sensors are pointing at Bald Mountain where a lot of work has been happening. Thank you to Brennan, Alexandra, Madge, Jason K., Kevin, John, Jerry, Joe, Jason P., and Tetsunori for your very generous donations towards a great camera. Will you all please private message me with your addresses. I want to send you all something. Hear the best pilots from America, United kingdom, and Australia during the largest Red Flag to date Red Flag 18-1. Red Flag is the U.S. premier Air Force's premier air to air combat training exercise. The U.S. invites allied nations to participate in intensive air combat. Hosted by the 414th Combat Training Squadron at Nellis AFB since 1975. The next Red Flag 18-3 is July 13 to August 3rd, and is the last one for 2018. This was an experiment that my good friend Michael, and I planned for many months, and worked out very well. You can hear the one team coming in on a bombing mission with targets set in the desert. While on the bombing mission the jets are receiving ground fire. What made this Red Flag different was all jets had to refuel in the air before going to their next mission. Notice how you can clearly make out the accents of the British, and Australian pilots. This is part one so even though there is a lot of action going on. It's nothing compared to part 2 where every scanner is going off. I hope you enjoy this video, and thank you for watching Christian. Eureka Stockade - Excerpt (1984)
Available to purchase at www.umbrellaent.com.au In the wake of the great California gold rush of 1849, miners the world over scrambled to Australia in search of the next big find. Ballarat, Victoria became the focal point for the miners’ efforts, and in an effort to control migration and raise government revenues, Britain established strict guidelines, requiring miners to pay for special licences. Inspired by the general discontent felt by the many miners, Irishman Peter Lalor (AFI Award winner Bryan Brown, Two Hands) and his mining partner, Timothy Hayes (AFI Award winner Bill Hunter, Newsfront) establish a protest group to represent the miners’ grievances and help combat the thugs employed by the Gold Commission under government orders. Supported by a strong team of diggers, including Catholic priest Father Smythe (Tom Burlinson, The Man From Snowy River) and Canadian Charles Ross (Brett Cullen), the miners take a stand against the establishment, united under the flag of the Southern Cross to fight for their rights and liberty. A powerful four-part miniseries event from the producer of Against The Wind and A Town Like Alice, Eureka Stockade also features Amy Madigan, Simon Chilvers, Penelope Stewart, David Bradshaw, Carol Burns, Rod Mullinar and Reg Evans.

ALIEN WEAPONRY - Kai Tangata (Official Video) | Napalm Records
Order "Tū" here: http://smarturl.it/Tu-AlienWeaponry Video Production - Kwasnik Pictures & AW Noise ltd Director - Alex Hargreaves Cinematographer & Editor - Piotr Kwasnik Camera Assist - Julia Wang Actors and Warriors - Brent Hay, Moko Smith, Whatanui Flavell, Koro Tini, Whanarua Edmonds, Tatiana Lewis-Wano, Tairoa Morrison, Sonia Lewis and our awesome Ngati Pikiao/Te Arawa whanau in Te Matarae i Orehu and Te Whare Kotua Hare and his kapa haka crew from Te Kaokaoroa o Pātetere school in Putāruru. Music Production - Simon Gooding & Hammerhead at Roundhead Studios New Zealand Mastered by Samuel K Sproull in Melbourne, Australia “In 1820, the great Northern War Chief Hongi Hika departed New Zealand for England. On his return, he brought with him the word of God and hundreds of muskets. Things would never be the same again …” … so begins the video for Alien Weaponry’s new single, ‘Kai Tangata’. The title literally translates to ‘Eat People’; and refers to the ancient Māori tradition of eating the flesh of their enemies after battle in order to insult them. It is also an ancient term for a war party. In their epic 7-minute song, the thrash metal trio recreates the memory of the early 19th Century musket wars, where Ngapuhi (Northern) tribes, newly armed with muskets, attacked and decimated the de Jong brothers’ Te Arawa (Central North Island) ancestors, who at that time were still using traditional weaponry. The driving riff that carries the song echoes the pounding footsteps of the war party, while the chorus traces the parts of the full body moko (tattoo) traditionally worn by Māori warriors. The images are of brutal hand-to-hand combat and the taking of slaves, with flashes of white teeth reminding us of the eventual fate of those unfortunate captives. “Some people might find it a bit grisly,” says singer and lead guitarist Lewis de Jong. “But it’s stuff that actually happened and nobody ever talks about it. We’re not saying it’s right or wrong, it’s just a part of our history.” The song refers to ‘nga tohu a Tūmatauenga’ (the symbols of Tūmatauenga – the Māori god of war), and it is from this deity that the band’s debut album, Tū, takes its name. “Quite a few of the songs on the album are about battles or conflict,” says drummer Henry de Jong, who was largely responsible for the lyrics of Kai Tangata. “So we thought it was appropriate to name the album after Tūmatauenga. Tū also means to stand strong and proud, to stand for something; which we think is important as a band and as people.” The video has special significance for the band due to the locations and people involved. Parts of the clip were filmed at the Waipu Caves, not far from where the band members live. The rest was filmed in the de Jong brothers’ Te Arawa tribal territory; and many of the people featured – including the kapa haka group Te Matarae i Orehu – are members of their Ngati Pikiao whanau (family) and their wider Te Arawa iwi (tribe).

No Roads, No Cars, Just Boats
Most of us town-and-city dwellers spend our days pounding hard, paved ground. But in Giethoorn, Holland, residents float through canals. Built without roads, a series of waterways and bridges connect the town’s 2,400 residents. This incredible aquatic infrastructure has even earned the town the nickname “Little Venice.” We have to admit, a life without asphalt, gridlock and the DMV sounds pretty enchanting. Aaron Lewis - Country Boy (Acoustic) // The Bluestone Sessions
Aaron Lewis sings his original song 'Country Boy' acoustically for Country Rebel at The Bluestone, Ohios #1 concert and event venue. Let us know if you enjoyed it by giving the video a thumbs up and subscribing for more awesome Country Rebel videos! Aaron Lewis - Country Boy Lyrics: Now, I grew up down an old dirt road in a town you wouldn't know My pop's picked the place up for fifteen hundred bucks back in 1964 My grandfather was a drinker, back in the day, he put him down But a war is known to change a man and the whiskey's known to change a man, but That's not me I rarely drink from the bottle but I'll smoke a little weed I still live in the sticks where you wouldn't go In a town of twelve hundred off an old dirt road And a country boy is all I'll ever be Now, its been twelve years since I sold my soul to the devil in L.A. He said sign your name here on the dotted line and your songs, they all will play He set up shop on Sunset, he put me up at the Marquee He said "you want to sell a million records boy, you better listen to me" He said "change your style, whiten your smile, you can lose a couple of pounds If you want to live this life, you better lose that wife, do you need your friends around?" And I said, no, that's not me Cause the biggest things in life are your friends and family And I like my jeans and my old t-shirts And a couple extra pounds never really hurt 'Cause a country boy is all I'll ever be 'Cause Hank taught me just how to stay alive You'll never catch me out the house without my .9 or .45 I got a big orange tractor and a diesel truck And my idea of heaven is chasing whitetail bucks And as a country boy, I know I can survive Now, two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I feel One is the colors that fly high and proud, the red, the white, the blue The other one's got a rattlesnake with a simple statement made "Don't Tread On Me" is what is says and I'll take that to my grave Because this is me I'm proud to be American and strong in my beliefs And I've said it before but I'll say it again 'Cause I've never needed government to hold my hand And I've said it before but I'll say it again 'Cause my family's always fought and died to save this land And a country boy is all I'll ever be Songwriters: Donald Gallacher / Paul Jay Lewis Country Boy lyrics © Warner/Chappell Music, Inc If you're new, Subscribe! → http://cntryrbl.us/Subscribe-YouTube Go here → http://cntryrbl.us/Home-YT Like us → http://cntryrbl.us/Facebook-YT Follow us → http://cntryrbl.us/Twitter-YT Listen here → http://cntryrbl.us/Spotify-YT Visit our store → http://cntryrbl.us/CR-Store

Natural Sound Britain's Queen Elizabeth II arrived in the Australian capital, Canberra, on Friday, just four months after a landmark referendum which rejected a plan to cut ties with the monarchy and make Australia into a republic. Although the Royal family avoids becoming involved in politics, reminders of the debate will surface such as her tour of Sydney's Olympic venue - six months ahead of the opening ceremony to which she is not invited. Although Australians voted to keep the British Queen as their head of state, this trip is not a triumphant victory lap. Her visit will be more low key than previous tours and will take in more of the outback and fewer of the major cities. Organisers have denied this has to do with voting patterns that showed support for the monarchy was strongest outside urban areas. Although opinion polls ahead of November's referendum showed most Australians wanted a homegrown head of state, they could not agree on how to choose one. Republicans say this is the main reason the referendum failed. She arrived at Canberra airport on Friday where she was greeted by the her representative, the Governor General Sir William Dean and the Australian Prime Minister John Howard. The Queen was whisked off to Government House at Yarralumla where she will stay during her time in the nation's capital. While the Queen will try not to become embroiled in the republic issue during her visit, it will be hard to avoid. Whilst in Sydney, she will visit the site of the Olympic Games, but she hasn't been asked to open the Games in six months time. Olympic officials say it is more appropriate for an Australian to open the Games. Queen Elizabeth will also visit the former gold mining town of Sovereign Hill, the original site of the Eureka stockade. In 1854 a group of mostly Irish and European migrant miners swore allegiance to a new Australian flag and staged an armed rebellion at Sovereign Hill against British-appointed authorities. Earlier royal visits have also had their share of controversy. During the queen's last visit in 1992, then Prime Minister Paul Keating raised eyebrows when he put his arm around her as he escorted her into a function and made a speech that was widely interpreted as pro-republican. Ballarat Victoria, 1970's - Film 12031
Film charting an autumn 'day in the life' of the quiet Australian mining town of Ballarat, Victoria. Shot beyong housing and foliage of a sunrise; the street is deserted. Silhouette of a church spire. Leaves blow on the ground. A man cycles away from shot. A silhouette of the town's skyline against the faded light. View uphill of a main street, complete with tram tracks. Close-up of two buildings. In the reflection of a shop window can be seen a car driving past. Inside a building, a candle burns. Empty bedsheets blow in the wind. Another shot of the candle, this time at a distance showing it on a tabletop with other items such as a bottle of wine and two eggs. Shot of a wooden attic; daylight seeps in through holes in the wall, and a fire burns. On a leaf-covered ground, leaflets flutter. A shot of deserted buildings with a flag fluttering alongside. Another shot of a flag, this time next to a tent. A clock tower and a tall building are shown, both with flags aloft upon their rooves. In the early morning light, a man cycles away from shot whilst a woman walks towards camera; meanwhile a haze has been created on the right hand side by a heat source. Close-up of a pavement as two schoolgirls carrying a bag between them walk past. A church building is silhouetted against the rising sun. A man walks past a metal object. He pulls up a blind. His shadow can be seen traversing the metal object. Shot of a train shed; the car in front moves out and the one behind edges forward. A man crosses a desrted street. A shop window says "Dining Rooms", and "Ballarat Coffee". Rain falls in a pond. Shot of the pond with foliage surrounding it; boat industry buildings stand on the opposite shore. Shot of an open barn door. Inside is a wooden wagon with "Ballarat Berninga" written on its rear. A clear office door has "Coach Office Cobb & Co." written on it; water runs down the door. A lone tree stands in a field, while a forest can be seen behind. Shot of three more trees in the midst of a field; an isolated farm building can be seen in the distance. A cat pokes its head through lace curtains. it sits on a bedside table beside a bed with its sheets disturbed. A ceramic clock in the shape of a dog ticks; the time is 6.30. Shot pans up from a pile of books to show a china figure (a girl with a pet rabbit and cat) standing on top; pans across to show a gramophone playing beside billowing curtains. Shot of the shop door; it says "Ballarat Coffee Palace". A waitress in old-fashioned clothes and headgear talks to two customers. A tram moves slwoly to the left; cars overtake it; shot pans right to show a male and a female dancer. The tram driver looks through his vehicle's window. As the tram sits beside a lake, he alters the position of its pantograph. Close-up of the female dancer's legs; she wears ballet shoes. Two elderly ladies, one of whom carries flowers, sit in the tram; the conductor stands behind and rings a bell. The driver operates the controls. The tram, with its destination blind denoting "Grey St. Sebastl.", heads towards the camera. The conductor checks the pasengers' tickets. The tram travels alongside the lake; the trees behind are losing their leaves. Close-up of the word "Basllarat" on the shop door. Thr ough a glass door, and past a reflection of flowers, can be seen an elderly couple. Close-up of some flowers. The couple point at them. Close-up of a rose. Two ladies walk past. Shot of a large crowd in a flower garden. Amidst one flower bed can be seen a statue. A jogger jogs to the left of a row of trees. Through the drooping branches of a tree can be seen a rowing crew in action on the lake. As they row towards the camera, the sun glimmers in the waves which their paddles create. Three fishermen stand by the lake; on the far shore are a group of biuldings. Four elderly ladies sit on a bench under a tree. A man can be seen beyond some greenery walking along a road. In the flower garden, a gardener can be seen sweeping leaves whilst others behind admire the flowers. Petals blow on the ground. Two older ladies get up from a bench facing some flowers, and walk along. Close-up of the statue; it is of a young girl in classical pose; behind is a flowerbed. The bench below the tree is empty; as light begins to fade a golden colour is created. Petals blow on the ground. A tram goes by against the backdrop of a setting sun; the tram, looking empty, heads off, its rear light blazing.

This is the most remote, and the closest border point to Area 51 as you can get. I have only seen a couple pictures of this gate taken in the mid 90's. I also have never seen any video of someone who has hiked up the steep mountain. To get the footage that I got at this border point. On Groom Lake Road at the border on the mountain is the most photographed surveillance camera. All the pictures, and video's of this surveillance camera are all the same. Because you can not hike to it because it's far in the border. At this border it's a steep hike, but well worth it. Because your within 20 to 25 feet of this well known surveillance camera. The camera is mounted on a tripod, and has a small solar panel. Which supplies the power for the electronics. There is a UHF antenna, and a microwave dish. There supposed to be pointing to the radar installation on Bald Mountain. The microwave dish was, but the antenna was not. It was pointing into the base. The station on Bald Mountain has a clear site to most of Tikaboo Valley. They have also been doing a lot of work to the radar installation on Bald Mountain in the last year. I've seen helicopters landing on top of Bald Mountain many times over the past year. Also the contractors stay at the Little A'Le'Inn. I didn't want to edit down the drive to this remote border. I want you all to see, and get the feeling your driving through this beautiful part of the desert. Please stay tuned to my channel because I was there for Red Flag. I was able to get most or all of the pilots talking during their bombing mission, and then the dog fights. This was the largest Red Flag to date, and we only invited our closest allies. The United Kingdom, and Australia. The voices came in so clear that you could hear the pilots from the United Kingdom, and Australia. Also while coming back from this remote/secret border site. I had camo dudes following me for miles very far from the base. So I turned around, and started chasing them until they left. Thank you all for watching my videos, and please hit that like button. The Polarised City of Hebron, West Bank
Hebron: One City, Two Nations (1996) From Hebron, two women talk about the tensions of living in a divided city. Subscribe to Journeyman here: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=journeymanpictures Ruth Hizmi, one of 400 Jewish settlers, moved to the West Bank 9 years ago. She believes that just being in her kitchen in Hebron is an act of faith. But on her way to work she gets spat on by Arab neighbours. Afifeh, a young Palestinian woman, lives on the 'cease-fire line' between the Jews and 100,000 Palestinians. From her cobbled wall, she overlooks a brand new playground built for Jewish children. Conflict in Hebron begins with the ancient Tomb of the Patriarchs. As the burial Place of Abraham, it holds great religious significance for both Jews and Muslims. Two years ago, a Jewish settler, Baruch Goldstein fired 119 bullets into a crowd of praying Muslims. Ever since worship for both religions has been strictly regulated by tense Israeli soldiers. Noam Arnon, spokesperson for the Jewish community, denounces recent Palestinian elections. He takes politicians to the street where there have been attacks on Jewish settlers. Ruth wants peace but she is passionately opposed to moving out of Hebron. Afifeh is simply resigned to the hard fact that Jews and Muslims can never live together in peace. THIS VIDEO ONLY GET'S BETTER AS IT GOES ON. This is the largest mass landing I have ever witnessed. I was driving back to Las Vegas from north of area 51 when I saw all the jets flying to do their mission. I couldn't believe the amount of jets in the air, and all of them were fairly low. I knew I had to hurry back to Vegas to film the jets coming in. Red Flag is very unpredictable on when the jets take off, and land at Nellis AFB. Usually they'll come in groups of 3 to land, and can take a couple hours for them all to land. During every Red Flag exercise they'll do one or two mass take off's, and mass landings so the ground personnel is trained on jetting the jets off the flight line fast. I didn't have to cut out much of this video at all due to the jets just coming in one after another. I didn't count the jets coming in, but had to cut out 6 of them due to I just couldn't get them in focus fast enough. As some of you may know when your filming at night, and filming bright lights such as Nellis, and the Las Vegas strip. When you pan the camera to complete darkness the camera will not focus on auto focus. I did the best I could do to keep everything in focus from bright to dark. Hopefully you all watch until the end because it truly get's better as the video goes on. Thank you all for watching, and thank you all that have made donations towards the channel. The Royal Saudi Air Force participated for the first time. Belgium Netherlands Singapore Great Britain Australia RED FLAG is the U.S. Air Force's premier air-to-air combat training exercise. Participants often include both the United States, and allied nations' combat air forces. Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada is the largest fighter base in the world. Aircraft from Nellis operate on the Nevada Testand Training Range, which offers more than 15,000 square miles of airspace, and 4,700 square miles of restricted land. More than 75% of all live munitions used by the Air Force for training are dropped on the Nevada Test and Training Range. Many communities in southern Nevada see, and hear Nellis aircraft 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. From 110 feet above the ground to twice the speed of sound. (TRUST ME I SEE IT ALL THE TIME) NEXT RED FLAG, AND THE LAST FOR THE YEAR 19-3 is July 15 - Aug 2. I'll be at Nellis, Tonopah, and Area 51 to get you all the best footage possible. WRAP Anti Australia protests after Howard comment on hostage

Wide shot of protesters burning mock up Australian flags 5. Cutaway to placards 6. Tight shot of burning 7. SOUNDBITE: (Tagalog) Edmund Estima, Protest Leader "Our party condemns the statement made by Australia against the decision of the Philippines to pull out Filipino troops from Iraq." 8. Various of protesters tearing an Australian flag STORYLINE: Demonstrators tore and burned Australian flags on Tuesday to condemn Australia's criticism of the Philippines' withdrawal of its peacekeepers from Iraq, and said kidnappings and violence there would ease if the U.S.-led coalition leaves the wartorn nation. The Philippines has been censured by the coalition, particularly the United States and Australia, for acceding to a demand by insurgents to recall a token Filipino peacekeeping contingent from Iraq a month early to save the life of a Filipino hostage threatened with beheading. After the Filipino troops left Iraq, Filipino truck driver Angelo dela Cruz was freed by the insurgents last week and returned home to a raucous hero's welcome. Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer blamed the Philippines and Spain, which withdrew its troops after the deadly Madrid bombings, for a new threat against Australia by a purported al-Qaida affiliate, called the Tawhid Islamic Group, and said the recall of the troops encouraged terrorists. Downer described the spate of hostage taking in Iraq that followed dela Cruz's release as an inevitable consequence of the Philippines changing its troop withdrawal timetable. The demonstrators, numbering about two dozen, were mainly left-wing activists belonging to a militant labour group. They tore and burned mock Australian flags in front of the Australian Embassy to condemn Downer's remarks and an earlier one by Australian Prime Minister John Howard against the troop withdrawal. Anti-riot policemen stood by but did not intervene. The protesters held up placards that read: "Mind your own beef" and yelled "Alexander Downer, war monger." "The Australian government must put the blame on itself," protest leader Charles Cabana said. "Being a supporter of the military strike, Australia is an automatic target of Iraqi insurgents who are seeking independence," he said. "Even if Angelo was killed, the kidnappings would have continued because the militants would not stop while their country is occupied and they're not free," he said. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Monday defiantly rejected criticism of her decision to withdraw Philippine troops from Iraq to save dela Cruz's life, saying the "The Philippines has no policy that demands sacrifice of human lives." In her annual state of the nation address, Arroyo said she decided to withdraw the troops from Iraq to ensure the safety of about 1.5 million Filipino workers in the Middle East, including about 4,000 in Iraq, and added she would not apologise for protecting her people. Overseas workers drive the Philippine economy with the income they send home. Arroyo suggested that the kidnappings and violence would have continued in Iraq even if the Filipino peacekeepers were not recalled. "Ask yourself this, if Angelo dela Cruz had been sacrificed, what would have changed for the better in Iraq today?," she asked. Arroyo's spokesman, Ricardo Saludo, said it would be better for concerned governments to focus on steps that would prevent kidnappings and attacks against foreign workers instead of "getting into this knee jerk reaction of blaming a country that was in fact a victim." The Updated Nations of the World (Yakko's World 2.0) by Chocolate Ghost House & the Animaniacs
The Animaniacs released "Yakko's World" (or "The Nations of the World") in 1993, and it's still one of the best and most popular songs from the series. Yakko Warner, voiced by Rob Paulsen, attempts to name all the nations of the world, but the world has changed quite a bit since then. Because of this, Chocolate Ghost House decided to update the song with all of the officially recognized United Nations Member States and non-state observers (as of March, 2015, of course). *In this version, a "nation" is defined by its current UN status. Sorry to Taiwan, Kosovo, and any other nation that might feel excluded! Dam burst spills toxic mud into Brazilian town, killing 17 - TomoNews
MARIANA, BRAZIL — Dozens are feared dead after a dam holding back waste water from an iron ore mine in rural Brazil broke, spilling toxic mud into a town. The New York Times reports that homes and vehicles in the small mining town of Mariana in Minas Gerais were smothered in thick rivers of toxic mud on Thursday after a dam collapse around 4:20 p.m. sent industrial effluent four miles down the mountain. More than 600 people from the nearby town of Bento Rodrigues had to be evacuated as a result. The dam, owned by Brazilian Samarco -- a joint venture between iron ore miners Vale of Brazil and Australia's BHP -- ruptured for unknown reasons. The surface area of the spillage -- mining waste made up of metal fillings, water, and chemicals -- was equivalent to 10 football fields, according to AFP. At least 17 were killed in the disaster, with more than 50 injured. Reuters reports that 45 others still missing. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, but teams are hampered by the lack of electricity and difficulty in accessing affected areas. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. ReBrandSA - South Australia: Live better
Brand by: Brian Zwar Live Better is a simple, honest campaign about all the best things that make up our state. We don't have one big-ticket drawcard, but rather a diversity of the little things that together make life here better than elsewhere. Live Better plays to our great strength -- live-ability -- and turns our smaller size into a positive by emphasising the quality and accessibility of what SA does well in a slogan that is positive, aspirational, invitational and confident. Live Better is about our great food, beaches, wineries, local produce, parks, festivals, suburbs and towns. It's about getting a car park outside your favourite restaurant on Gouger Street, a lunch break in the Botanic Gardens, fresh seafood at Semaphore and cold beer at Hahndorf. It's about a weekend in the Barossa or a longer outback getaway in the Flinders. It's all the things that make for better living. The brand is adaptable and broad enough to showcase the city, regions, wineries, holiday locations, festivals or opportunities for work and study. It invites visitors to imagine a holiday of better living on Kangaroo Island, or migrants to imagine living 15 minutes from the city and close to the coast and the hills. Live Better is about all the things that together make SA great, and their accessibility compared to elsewhere. It capitalises on our main drawcard and is an opportunity to tell others what we like most about our state.

Australian consular officials and lawyer arrive for Rio Tinto case
(23 Mar 2010) SHOTLIST 1. Pan from traffic to exterior of Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People''s Court 2. Mid of Chinese flag in front of courthouse 3. Lawyer representing one of the Chinese defendants walking into courthouse 4. Australian embassy car driving inside courthouse grounds with Australian flag 5. Australian consul-general in Shanghai, Tom Connor (far left), walking to court 6. Various of Connor walking into court 7. Various of judge walking up steps to entrance STORYLINE Australian consular officials and lawyers arrived at Shanghai''s No. 1 Intermediate People''s Court on Tuesday, as the four employees implicated in the mining giant Rio Tinto case plead guilty to taking bribes, according to lawyers and an Australian diplomat. Rio Tinto is one of China''s top providers of iron ore and a key industry negotiator in commodity price talks with the government. The accused include a Rio Tinto executive arrested along with three employees last year during fractious annual negotiations over iron ore prices. The admissions on Monday of bribe taking - although no details of the allegations have been released - are a blow for Rio Tinto at a time when it is striving to restore good relations with China. The four also face charges of stealing commercial secrets, and final verdicts in the trial could take weeks. Stern Hu, an Australian national, was Rio Tinto''s top executive in charge of iron ore for China when he was arrested. The lawyers said Hu and the three Chinese nationals - Liu Caikui, Ge Minqiang and Wang Yong - pleaded guilty but disputed the amounts they are alleged to have accepted. The Australian consul-general in Shanghai, Tom Connor, said after the first day of the trial that Hu was accused of taking 1 million yuan (146-thousand US dollars) and 790-thousand US dollars. He did not provide further details. Rio Tinto, based in Melbourne and London, at first rigorously denied the charges against its employees, but its recent statements have only urged that the court handle the case in a quick and transparent way. The American Chamber of Commerce released a report on Monday showing a growing number of foreign businesses in China - 38 percent of those surveyed - feel shut out under new government policies promoting homegrown technology. The Australian government has protested the decision by the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People''s Court to exclude consular officials from parts of the trial related to commercial secrets. China''s legal system, like the rest of the government, is dominated by the Communist Party, an institution prone to secrecy. The four Rio Tinto employees have not been allowed any public comment since their arrest. China has not disclosed who might be accused of offering the alleged bribes. Tao Wuping, the lawyer for Liu, said all four pleaded guilty. Calls to Hu''s lawyer, Duan Qihua, were not answered. The trial was scheduled to last three days. Verdicts can come weeks or even months later. Almost all criminal cases that go to trial in China end in conviction. The maximum penalty for commercial espionage is seven years in prison. The maximum penalty for taking large bribes is five years.
