Auxiliary Stereo Input Hack

07:16
Here's how to tap into your car's radio to add an auxiliary sound input, so you can connect your MP3 player or phone. There's no need to replace your age old cassette deck for a cheesy looking aftermarket unit. Forget those FM transmitters, and cassette aux adapters. Wire the aux directly to your car's internal sound circuitry to get crystal clear CD quality sound! The best part is, all you need is a 3.5mm stereo cable, which costs $1 at the dollar store! This video demonstrates the addition of an aux line on a Toyota JBL Stereo from a 1999 Toyota Solara. Model # Fujitsu Ten 122000-09200101 or Toyota part number 86120-AA020. Also illustrates the process of removing and installing the stereo from a 97-01 Camry and 99-03 Solara. The hack relies on being able to trace the output from the tape deck to the equalizer. Solder two R&L wires to the output pins of the equalizer chip, which in this case was clearly labeled on the motherboard. Use a 3.5mm stereo extension to route the wires outside the stereo into the console, where you can connect an MP3 player, phone, bluetooth headset, iPod or iPhone. Enable the tape or FM radio mode to open the auxiliary port. Mine will automatically over-ride the audio coming from the FM source. On some cell phones with jack detection (such as the Samsung Galaxy S5), the radio must be off before the phone is plugged in and the music is played. Otherwise, the phone won't detect a headphone plugged in and you'll hear the FM radio plus lots of static. Toyota Keyless Remote Programming

01:47
Programming a keyless remote transmitter on a Toyota / Lexus vehicle with factory installed keyless entry and alarm. This procedure should work on Toyota's made in the late 90's to the early 2000's, such as the Toyota Solara, Camry, Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, Sienna, Highlander and Avalon. This procedure will not work on vehicles with a dealer installed remote, i.e. with a service button / LED on the driver side of the dash-board, such as those with the RS3000 / RS3200 system. Programming the remote involves cycling the locks and ignition. If the vehicle does not enter programming mode or the locks fail to cycle, it could be a worn lock actuator. Try cycling the locks manually instead of using the power lock button switch on the door. How To Diagnose A Bad Power Steering Pump

04:15
A quick and straight to the point video of how to diagnose a bad power steering pump on your car. First, when you start the car there will be an consistent whining noise coming from under the hood because the power steering pump is belt driven and will make noise as long as the engine is running. Second, when you turn the wheel the whining noise will get louder and the steering wheel will be harder to turn than normal. Third, check the power steering hoses for cracks to see if they are leaking. Mine aren't cracked or leaking so it's not a hose that is the issue. Lastly, look at the power steering pump itself to see if it looks wet as if it is leaking. In my case the pump is actually leaking which tells me the pump itself is bad. If you have any questions or comments go ahead and do so down below. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day.

FREE SHIPPING Give us a call at 866-262-3738 Video Transcription: John: Hi, guys. John here, with Realtruck.com. Today, we're going to show you how to install the Bully Dog Triple Dog BT Performance Chip onto our Dodge Ram project truck. One of the great things about this performance chip is that it gives you a lot of different tuning abilities, to specifically tune different aspects of your vehicle for performance. Adds up to 30 horsepower, 30-foot pounds of torque. Plus, it has a lot of convenient safety things for you. You can monitor different aspects of what's going on with your truck. Let's you know if something is going to be a problem before it becomes a problem. Takes about 20 minutes to install it on the truck. Let's get started. All right, guys. The first step in programming our new Bully Dog performance chip is to go ahead and go to www.Bullydog.com. When that page loads up, you'll see something that looks like this. Go ahead and go to the download. Go to 'update agent' and click on that. Then you'll have this screen. Right here where it says 'how to install the update agent', just go to click here and click on that. That will begin the download. Depending on your system, it may vary a little bit different from this one. But on this one, it just works this way. Go ahead and open that. Click 'run'. Then once you see this screen, you can click 'install'. That begins the process of installing our update app. Once you have this screen, then you're going to want to locate your micro SD card, which is this teeny tiny little guy right here. What you're going to look at is . . . You can see on the back of it. It has these little . . . It looks like a bar graph. You're going to take your card reader, and you're going to make sure that you install it with that bar graph-looking thing down, and just slide it into there. Once this is installed, you'll go ahead and plug this part into your USB port on your computer. It varies, depending on your computer, where it's at. Mine happens to be right here. So plug that in. This is your product registration. Once this comes up, you can fill out all this information and submit this. Right now for our purposes, I'm going to cancel this because I'm going to let the owner of the truck do his own registration.

Step by step Jeep Grand Cherokee engine swap guide Part 1

12:14
Having a flexible ratcheting wrench set like this helped out a TON in tight spaces: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002NYD3U/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0002NYD3U&linkCode=as2&tag=three04-20 Let me know if that link stops working. I decided to show how to do an engine swap for anyone who wants to save a little money and do it themselves. All you really need for this adventure is a standard socket set, standard wrenches (mostly metric) and when it comes time for the actual engine pull, you'll need to have a lift. I got mine at O'Reilly Autoparts. They let me rent it for free. All you need to do is give them a deposit which they return when you bring back the lift. This whole project took me about 30 hours. See Part 2 if you want to know how to put the new engine back in. This should apply to all Jeep Grand Cherokees from 92 to 98 The whole operation is pretty simple if you have a little mechanical know how. I'm willing to answer any questions. How to Diagnose a Faulty Driveshaft Center Support Bearing

05:15
Video tutorial on how to troubleshoot a faulty driveshaft hanger bearing. So in this particular video I will be using my 1997 BMW 540i as an example, but this diagnosis can be applied to other vehicles with a similar driveshaft setup. Other manufacturers which use hanger bearings and is not limited to is Toyota, Dodge, Mitsubishi, Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, Mercedes, etc. A driveshaft hanger bearing, also known as a center support bearing serves the purpose as the name states. In short, it supports the driveshaft. It not only keeps the driveshaft neatly tucked away within the underbody of the vehicle, but it also helps achieve the correctly angles for the universal or constant velocity joints, this vehicle has both in the driveshaft. If the angles are incorrect, this will cause excessive wear on the joints, possible vibrations, and lead to premature failure. The exterior will have a steel frame, next is a rubber damper which keep the driveshaft somewhat floating dealing with the movement from the body, suspension, or drivetrain. And finally the center used a bearing which allows the driveshaft to rotate freely and smoothy. They can fail in a couple different ways, either the rubber eventually cracks which will cause vibrations or in a worst case scenario clunking if it’s badly worn. This can be noticeable at certain speeds or when starting off from a stop in drive or reverse. Besides the rubber being somewhat worn, the bearing was also coming to the end of it’s life too. You can hear some clicking clicking on camera hopefully and you can see it also turned fairly easy. A new bearing should be somewhat stiff when turning. The other way it can fail is the bearing can eventually wear out. A worn bearing will create a clicking or growling noise, depending on how bad it’s worn. A faulty bearing typically starts out as a clicking, eventually growing to a growling sound which can sometimes be felt through the body of the vehicle and the noise will increase with speed as the driveshaft turns faster. Mine wasn’t overly expensive, I didn’t buy one directly from BMW but instead the manufacturer who produces them for BMW. How to Remove an Engine

08:40
Here's how to disassemble and remove an engine and transmission from a Toyota Corolla. Removing the engine from most transversely mounted, 4 cylinder cars are quite similar. In my case, I opted to disassemble major components off of the engine before removing the engine and transmission as an assembly, including water pump, alternator, starter, AC compressor, power steering pump, air intake, throttle body, radiator, AC condenser and exhaust manifold. This allows a lot more room in the engine bay for removal. if your doing a straight engine swap, the removal of these components is not necessary. Once the above mentioned components are removed, there are 4 engine mounts that hold the engine/tranny to the car body. The front and rear mounts are bushings with a thru bolt. They are secured underneath the subframe by 3-4 bolts. The driver side tranny mount is also a thru bolt. However since the tranny is being lifted up, the mount must be removed from the inner fender. The passenger side engine mount is a vertically mounted bushing, and is typically left for last. Strapping the engine was done with a thick heavy chain, around the engine. Seat belts were used across the driver and passenger side mounts for balance. A shop crane was used to hoist the engine and transmission up over the car, and then the car was rolled back. 6 bolts hold the engine to the transmission at the bell housing. Once separated, the torque converter is exposed. It can then be unbolted from the flywheel beneath the access plate under the engine block. The flywheel is then unbolted, and the engine mounted to an engine stand using the engine mount bolts. This process was demonstrated on a 2001 Toyota Corolla with a 1ZZ-FE vvti engine.

Lexus LS430 sub woofer replacement and interior removal

19:37
A step by step tutorial on how to remove the back seat & rear interior garnishes of the Lexus LS430 to get to the sub woofer, and how to replace it with a cheaper aftermarket part. The OEM part 86160-0W260 is ~$400. I installed this replacement Polk Audio DB840DVC for ~$50 in ~4 hours. Important notes: - I am not a professional mechanic or electrician, so consult a professional if you don't know what you're doing. - There's lots of conflicting information out there on Ohm/resistance of the Mark Levinson sub woofer and the best way to re-wire a replacement. In this video, you can see mine measured around 12 Ohms, so I wired the Polk voice coils in series to get 8 Ohms. If this leads to problems down the road, I will post an update. - I didn't think about making a video for this until after I had taken everything apart, so this video was mostly filmed backwards. If you see any continuity mistakes or confusion, that's why. - There may be better ways to wire & mount a replacement sub woofer in this car; this is just one of them. Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions for others to help them do a better job if they're about to undertake this. Thanks for watching & reading!

Easy alternator change for Toyota Sienna

09:03
Easy alternator change for 2007 Toyota Sienna the wonderful engineers of today's vehicles love to make things fit together like tetris puzzles. What happen to the alternator being right on the top 15 minutes, two bolts, and a belt and you would be on your way. I find it more and more difficult to change things today. The toyota service manual has this simple job down to about 27 steps with 26 of them removing half of the front end to expose the alternator. The only video I could find on this was this guys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLdNmdWZMsY and with the removal of two more hoses the job is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier. So watch his video and then watch mine to take the two other hoses and you can accomplish this in an afternoon not two days like me. My gear: I use the Audio Technica AT2020 XLR because I wanted to be able to record music occasionally. If you do not need that then you could just go straight for the USB version and wouldn’t need the phantom power or extra cables. The external recorder is a must when using a cell phone and will help with audio sync when editing. How to Find and Reset the Radio Antitheft Code on your Honda

01:22
Brian Eslick from How to Automotive http://www.howtoautomotive.com takes you step-by- step through the process of finding and resetting the radio code after removing the battery cable on your 2001 and newer Honda CR-V, Accord, Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline, Civic and Fit. STEPS 1-You must turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 2-Then you turn ON the radio and make sure the display is showing the word "CODE". If you do not see this message, remove the backup fuse for 60 seconds or longer, and then go back to the first step. 3-Turn OFF the radio. 4-Press and hold the number 1 and number 6 radio preset buttons, and then turn ON the radio. 5-The display will toggle between two different screens: there is a U with the first 4 digits of the serial number (U4637 just as an example,) and L with the last 4 digits of the serial number (L9873 just as an example.) Don't pay any attention to the U and L and write down all the 8 digits. 7- Visit: https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ (Make sure you cut and paste that address exactly or you might go to a site that charges money. Make sure to include the https, not just http in the address) to get your unlock code from the Honda website. Some people have mentioned they had to pay for the unlock code, but I got mine free when I did it. Maybe they've changed their website. You might be able to visit your Honda dealer with the code and VIN and get it free from your local dealer too if you have trouble with the website. FOR HONDA ACCORD FROM 2003-2007 WITH THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM : 1-First you must turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) position. 2- Turn on the radio, and be certain you can see the word COdE in the upper display. If you do not see this message displayed, then pull the backup fuse for at least 60 seconds and then go back to the first step. 3-Turn off the audio unit. You then will press&hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then you must press and release the PWR/VOL knob. The display will toggle then between two different screens. The first screen displays a U and the first four digits of the serial number (just for example, U5428). The second screen displays an L and the last four digits of the serial number (just for example, L2358). You should ignore the U and L, and then write down all eight remaining digits of the code. Please let me know if this works for you and what car it worked on. Thanks! The whole process is pretty easy, there are just a few extra parts on the Tacoma caliper that you need to unhook before the brake pads themselves become free. Overall the whole process should take less than an hour and will save you a ton of money because you are doing it yourself. This also will fix any problems with your car 'chugging' or 'shuddering' when you apply the brakes. As well as fix any squeaky brake issues you might be having. So I made this video to demonstrate how to disable traction control on my MK4 2001 Jetta 1.8t. My car did not come with the traction control button, commonly known as ASR/ESP button. Do this at your own risk. I do not know if this works on any other VW car, motor, or otherwise. I do know it does work on mine. www.vwvortex.com

How to Install a reverse camera on a car Honda/Nissan/BMW

10:56
This is a video on how to install a reverse camera also known as a back up camera. It is a fairly simple job and can be done with little to no experience but at your own risk. This was done on a Honda accord the process is the same even with 2006 model. This is a 98 but the process in this video can be used on any car. You must first choose what type of back up camera you want. it can be mounted on the bumper or you can buy a license plate model or wireless model. I recommend the license plate model because mounting is a lot more simple. A wired connection is also always better than a wireless connection and there is never any need to replace a battery. Also you have surface mount models where you drill a hole into your trunk this is good to prevent theft but I DONT like the idea of having to put a whole in my vehicle. Also there are many cheap models for 10 bucks and higher priced models for 30 bucks and up. The difference will be in the resolution and capture angel this camer capture 170 degree angle and I paid about 18 bucks. Also some have infer red for night vision, I recommend one of those. The unit will come with two wires usually.one long 19-20ft video wire seen with yellow connection in video. This wire goes from your back up camera to your video display that is all just plug it in. Second you will receive a split ground and power wire. The ground goes to ground of your back up light. The power goes to the power of your back up light and also to the reverse gear signal in the indash. In this video I have the Pioneer AVH-X2500BT 6.1 dvd receiver. The back up camera was Esky waterproof rear view camera with night vision. comes in a yellow box there are many out there the look like it with different names but be carefull mine works fine but a lot of the cheap ones are just junk.

2001 Toyota Sienna - Adjusting rear brake shoes parking brake

10:30
How to manually adjust the rear brake shoes so they better contact the drum. They are supposed to adjust by themselves but mine did not. After adjusting mine are excellent. Before my emergency brake did nothing and the braking from pedal only was coming from the front brakes.
